Re: Fighting the vampire counts

Ok, so I have the book in front of me right now. I am not VC player, but from what I can tell, the notice about problems with armor. For small vampire, there is no chance to have any other bloodline beside +2 dices, if he chooses so; so I think small vampires will never usi this line. Nearly the sam...

Re: WIP WR conversion

Nice! I've actually made the same conversions. The only thing you need to worry about is the heads. They don't fit quite right on the beastmen necks. A few of mine have the head sort of looking downward, giving the impression that the centaurs are even larger. :smirk: Expect that you mig...

Re: Fighting the vampire counts

From what I heard from our local VC players, it seems that VC have some sognificant weakness; mainly because of cost of bloodlines and because of teir limitations: small vampire * they could have lot of PD, but 1 spell then (this line cost 50); and nearly no defence * they could know all spells from...

Re: WIP WR conversion

So far, your work looks excellent! What parts have you used? The horse parts are welfish horses of course :) The bodys are from ungors; the left (spears and horn) hands too. Banner is welfish banner on spear with removed blade. Left hands are both ungor (shield) and gor (weapon) hands with removed ...

Unicorn's conversions (1st Jun - beasty BSB)

I start conversion of WR to make them look like centaurs. I planned to convert 2 units, each of 6; at this moment I have juts one in some better WIP. I planned one unit in "charge!" moment, other (this one) is warbanner unit in some "happy" situation. http://www.doupe.cz/files/tm...

60 archers in 3 blocks by 20. And on 2500, 5 units can shoot, 6 with hieratic jar. High priest cast 2 inkanations per turn; Tomb King too. Re: What I have learned.......

I doubt all those 20 archers could shoot at the same time... Unless you play a very hilly board... Deploying 60 models wide with nothing to cover LoS is very (extremely) rare. ~ Nag On our tournaments, usual terrain looks like 2 large hills, 2 medium hills, 2 medium-to-small woods, and one small ob...

Re: What I have learned.......

You forgot about TK. TK shooting can be HELL. For me, I saw armies with 60 arrows/phase, what means 120 shots/turn if you will not stop their magic. Hitting always on 5+, no matter what. Edit: I even saw 80 shoots/phase TK army on 2500 :D That must have been one massive unit of archers... If not, r...

Re: 2500 - HE vs WE

Where does terrain come into this? No one mentioned moving through terrain until you brought it up.... Eh, forget it. Point was simply that if your opponent runs away as charge reaction, you are still charging (failed charge) and not pursuing. That's all :D This was just reaction on smal...

Re: 2500 - HE vs WE

If you pursuit, you does not suffer any movement penalities from terrain. If you declare charge and your opponents flee, you still must take just a normal charge move. It means if you must move through a wood (and you are not WElfie :) ) you suffer normal movement penalitie. How is this relevant? Y...

Re: 2500 - HE vs WE

The question posed byTreeman Noble was: if wildriders declare a charge and fail and the next turn somone charges them must they take a fear test? If the Wild Riders do not reach their opponent, they have failed their charge and so do not get the benefit of causing Fear. As such, an enemy unit wishi...

Re: 2500 - HE vs WE

I think you've misunderstood the situation Unicorn. If the opponent runs away, that's not a failed charge it becomes a pursuit. A failed charge is when the charging unit doesn't have enough movement to reach the target in the first place and the chargers therefore move their normal distance. As suc...

Re: 2500 - HE vs WE

Being as the prerequisite of a charge is to reach your opponent, I would say that, having failed their charge, the Wild Riders do not get the benefits of Fear and so their opponent does not need to take a Fear test to charge them if they make a failed charge. This is nonsence. Think about this situ...

My army includes 30 Glade guards. I'll have at least one round of long range shots too. Those Varghulfs do not scare me. How many wounds should Varghulf have? 4?

BTW if Varghulf is at short range from your GG, you should get 2 shoots per one model - normal shoot plus SaS reaction :)

iirc they cause fear on THE TURN they charge. And, by common rule, "turn" means "game turn" (consist of both players' turns).
No. They cause fear "until the start of next Wood Elf turn", as our AB sayes.

Re: Facing tactical charge

riverstone, problem with skirmish units is that many generals love to charge them because of tactical charge. If you know how to use this thing and skirmish player won't do anything (in terms of how to form his unit) to stop you from this tactic, you can think about charging skirmishers as about som...

Re: Facing tactical charge

So If I got It right, to prevent it you place a model in the soon to be charged unit, far of center and closeset to the charging unit. So that he will have to use his free wheel to get to you instead of using it to tactical possition him to get the most out of his overrun? It is a little more compl...
