Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
I can't speak for frogboy, but the situations could be similar, I haven't been able to get a game of Warhammer for the last 5 years because all the fantasy players just vanished into the woodwork with 8th edition (my own dissatisfaction with 8th edition and our new army book not withstanding). Despi...

Re: White Fang's Wood Elves
If you want to have it grabbing something, see if you can get ahold of some smaller type model (LOTR Moria Goblins work really well, so do Ogre Gnoblars) and have it tangled up in the vines for a more dynamic model. Werewolf Treekin: http://www.asrai.org/download/file.php?id=7996&mode=view The p...

Re: White Fang's Wood Elves
Unfortunately, you already glued the vine bit to the hand. I would try to do a hand swap with a dryad model to make a branchwraith. If it were me, I would use the hand (without the vines) for one of my werewolf treekin, it's a great piece. Unfortunately, there are no more Alter Kindred nobles in the...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
T-minus one month and counting.... Ninth edition is coming, so this is not unexpected. There seems to be some confusion regarding whether or not Age of Sigmar is (ranked more or less in order of decreasing likelihood): A) A WHFB 9th edition ruleset for playing low point/skirmish level games (similar...

Taking a second look at the Wardancer Noble, from the picture of the back, is it me or does the flesh on the leg look like it has a purplish cast to it?

Re: Army Books Redux
The list of 8th edition expansions is here, although it does not specify (nor do I remember) all the specifics of what was added. The End Times: Archaon Volume 5 of the End Times Expansion, contains the grand legion of the everchosen list Mar-15 The End Times: Thanquol Volume 4 of the End Times Expa...

Army Books Redux
So all this information is taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer_Army_Book If any of it is incorrect, I'd be glad to hear it. Here is the current state of the WHFB army books: Wood Elves May-14 Dwarfs Feb-14 Dark Elves Oct-13 Lizardmen Aug-13 High Elves May-13 Daemons of Chaos Mar-13 War...

Re: Artisan's Contest May 2015 [Discussion Thread]
The War Lion is *not* copy-pasted. The fluff is adapted, appropriately i believe, since GW was kind enough to provide me with a nice starting place. It is taken from the HE army book where it is presented as part of the Lion Chariot, and to that end I did take the stats that were presented there and...

Re: Artisan's Contest May 2015
Not all white lions are killed out of hand. The High Elves take no joy in needless slaughter, and often stay their blades should cubs be discovered. These infants would doubtless become savage and deadly beasts if they were left in the wild, but with expert care, the young white lions are raised to...

Valiant Miniatures. If you do a quick google for "T'Sharo druidic plant man" you should find it. I'm currently in the process of moving, but once everything is unpacked, I'll try to snap a few pictures.

I like the old Forest Dragon model. Fantastic paint job.
What is the steed he's riding on? I don't recognize the mane/tail.

Fabulous! I'm glad the privateer press stand worked for you. Your paint job is gorgeous. If you have any free time , would you mind painting some warhawks for me? I don't think I could be half as good as that.
Congratulations on the family. Hopefully you are able to bring them home soon.

Re: Wardancers and Waywatchers
Beware of magic spells that don't roll to hit on the Waywatchers.
I also seem to have really bad luck with Stepping up attacks back to my Wardancers, so take extra care to either hit a flank or combo charge with something else. Or both.

Re: 3000pts Doubles Tournament, Wood Elves & Empire
Naestra and Arahan seem a bit gimmicky in this list, I would rather see a Lv2 Shadowsinger in their place freeing up the Empire wizard to take Life.

Re: 1500 point tournament list
BRB Page 120: "Any model in a Venom Thicket has the Poisoned Attacks special rule (applies to close combat attacks only)....." So no go on that one. I would not drop the warhawks, but given that you have an Eagle mounted character, scouts, warhawk riders, waywatchers, AND 2 eagles, I thin...

I think it would be too crowded/unbalanced. Use some of the owl bits that come with the dryad boxes for the same effect on the base, IMHO

Re: Attaching Warhawks
If you don't mind spending a bit more, you can use and adapt some GW Flying Stems for your use. The base might come in handy for a display piece if you are into such things or a warmachine for another army. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Flying-Stem-and-Base You might also might be able to adap...

Re: Three 1000 pts lists
Your EG in the Good list is over the unit max of 250pts.
I think one game of poor archery/magic (or getting outshot by an opponent) will end your day really quick with the Good list.
