Re: Enchanted Arrows upgrade quandary

Disclaimer: Of course this is very FAQ-worthy or even Errata. The intention is highly unclear, and could go both ways. But until GW makes a move, we only have the rules that we have, and arguing on what should be, intent, or probably future ammendments by GW is fruitless at the moment. I don't beli...

Re: Eternal Guard or Wildwood Rangers?

With Eternal Guard now being Stubborn in their own right (and thus, not needing characters to babysit them), I think the potential for a variety of unit sizes has increased. Sure, if you want a solid anvil unit you're going to have to invest in 25+ models, but there might be some value now in runnin...

Re: Eternal Guard or Wildwood Rangers?

I never thought I'd see the day where people were choosing Scouts over Glade Guard though :smirk: And what a happy day it is :D although I expect it will get comped to blazes, alongside Waystalkers and Waywatchers, so let's enjoy it while it lasts. I'm glad I don't play in a comped environment then...

This thread is intended to address those questions that keep getting asked over and over, and have already been answered unequivocally. This is *NOT* a thread for questions that need FAQing (those should be asked here ) but is instead intended to list those common questions and answers that people s...

Re: Eternal Guard or Wildwood Rangers?

I think they both have a place. As someone who made regular use of Eternal Guard with the old book, the value of Stubborn anvils cannot be underestimated. Sure, they're only S3 but they now have AP as standard (rather than having to take the Razor Banner), which makes them that little bit more effec...

Re: Limited Edition Number Tracker

The moral of this tale - don't pre-order! :D Sadly the closest GW is a 3.5 hour drive from me, and my FLGS can't order in the book. So I was forced to pre-order. If the Standard wasn't $60 CAD I'd be using it right now, but I can't justify that after spending $110 on the LE. If the Standard was $40...

Re: The Spirit Sword - multiwound or not?

No, they are separate wounds. You suffer a single wound for every point you lose the Ld roll-off by, so you have to make as many saves as you suffer wounds, just like normal.

Re: How much money have you blown on this new release?

When I saw the models for Wild Riders and Sisters I thought they were going to more expensive than they were. Not sure how much this release is going to end up costing me, but less than I thought it would actually :smirk: Agreed. The cost of all the plastic kits so far has been pleasantly surprisin...

Re: Warhammer Forge to be discontinued?

I don't really see any reason why they would discontinue Warhammer Forge. Obviously the 30K/40K kits are where they make their money, but it costs them nothing to keep the moulds they've already made for Warhammer stuff, and they can pretty much just cast them to order once their stock runs out, whi...

Double Posting and Multiple Topics

Ladies and Gents, I know there's a lot of activity on the site right now, possibly a lot more than some of us are used to, but we're seeing a lot of double and even triple posting, and rather a lot of duplicate threads; some where people have accidentally posted the same topic two or three times, an...

Re: The Great Repaint (Pic Heavy!!)

Hello again folks! Well, it's been a while but I've finally painted some more figures! The first few months of the year went by with very little progress - the models I showed you awaiting paint are *still* waiting to be painted, but I have painted some others instead. With the new Wood Elf release ...

Re: How much money have you blown on this new release?

So far, I've only bought the Army Book and Magic Cards, for a total of £34.50 (although I paid 10% less than that because I got them from my local game store instead of GW). The downside is that the shop didn't have the two Treemen I wanted, so those have to wait until next week... I still plan to b...

Rather than copy and paste someone else's work and give him "props" at the end (especially as he's a member of this site himself), I think it would have been far more courteous to link directly to his blog: http://companyofthedamned.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/company-of-damned-2014-wood-elves-...

Top tip for you - soak the bases in cold water for an hour or so before trying to scrape the basing materials off. It'll loosen the glue and make the job much easier!

Granted, the point may be moot in that most people wouldn't upgrade anyway. But it was one of the little things I expected to see (especially as they brought Great Stags in line with the Storm of Magic versions), and was surprised to find missing... Maybe it's because they're "special" Eag...

Is anybody else put out that we didn't get the same upgrades for our Eagles as High Elves did?

They can add ASF, AP and the like (for extra cost, of course), but we got no options to upgrade our Eagles at all. Anybody else find that strange?

Just throwing this out there, but would anyone consider running Glade Guard without any enchanted arrows? How would basic arrows hold up on the damage-per-point scale?
