Re: The Hounds of Brenin-Armon: An Army Blog
Game #1: vs. Tomb Kings Probably not the hardest match up for the new book, especially as I knew my opponent wouldn't be bringing a really tough list (although I didn't know he was bringing Tomb Kings specifically). As such, I knew going in that any "findings" would have to be taken with ...

The Hounds of Brenin-Armon: An Army Blog
Following in the vein of Tethlis' extremely popular Army Blog thread, I thought I'd jump on his bandwagon and start up my own thread (although mine won't be nearly as active and insightful :smirk:) So without further ado, I'll present the starting list I've come up with: Spellweaver ~ 320pts - Lv.4,...

Re: Free Wood
Hmm wouldnt making a square make it much bigger? Technically, yes. I think if you're going to make your own wood, you should at least make an effort to get the template the same as the Citadel Wood. There have been templates uploaded so that people can do just that. The Citadel Wood base is actuall...

Scouts don't count towards the +1 for deploying first.

Re: Rangers, Formation & Use Thereof
The current setup I have in mind is a unit of 20 accompanied by a Glade Captain with GW, formed up in 3x7. I will admit that the inclusion of the Glade Captain is partly because I don't want to have to buy a third box for one model, either (but I probably will eventually anyway!)

Re: Commonly Asked Questions
Gents, this is not a discussion thread. There is already a thread set up to discuss whether Wild Riders mounts are affected by Frenzy, so take the discussion there please.
As for the Q+A relating to Frenzy - I'll be removing it shortly, as I don't believe it belongs here.

Re: sniping and line of sight
So how does that work if my waystalkers in a building? He gets a 360 sight, right? And if the buildings 2 or more floors, does that mean I can see pretty much anything? Nope, there's no 360 LoS for single models any more. He gets 90 degree forward arc LoS, like a ranked unit does. If he's at the to...

The next White Dwarf has nothing for Wood Elves, other than the third Orion novel going on to pre-order. If we were seeing a third week release, it would be in there. No Warhawks

Re: Line of sight - to hit modifiers
I don't have my brb on hand but if my memory is not failing me if the unit can see more than 75% of the unit it is shooting at there are no modifiers if the unit can see more than 50% but less than 75% of the unit it is shooting at there is a -1 modifier if the unit can see less than 50% of the uni...

Re: Forest Stalker + Gnoblar Question
Bill's answer makes the most sense, and seems to be the intent for the Forest Strider rule. However, the BRB says "Warriors with the Strider rule do not have to take Dangerous Terrain tests" If you add on the caveat required from the rule being Forest Strider (rather than just Strider) it ...

Re: Commonly Asked Questions
In regards to the first Q&A, the Strider rule allows Wood Elves to automatically Pass Dangerous Terrain Tests while in a Forest (if I'm not mistaken) A small difference perhaps, but it means that Wood Elves do not have to take Dangerous Terrain tests while in forests. That's not the same as aut...

Re: Line of Sight and Woods
Also, True Line of Sight means True Line of Sight. If your model can "see" a part of an enemy model to shoot at, then they can shoot at it. The enemy unit that's "mostly" hidden behind a large rock is not *completely* hidden - if you can draw LoS to a model that's not completely ...

Re: Wild Riders VS Wildwood Rangers
Yes, Dark Magic definitely has a lot of potential. I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea of putting my Weaver in a combat unit, and the benefit of adding +1S from Power of Darkness against Undead is minimal (they usually only have 5+AS on their infantry, so S5 is enough to nullify that anyway, ...

I'm only adding questions that have a clear and definitive answer. There is still debate about how the Multiple Shots and Sniper rules interact, regardless of how other players have been playing it with other armies. Re: Wild Riders VS Wildwood Rangers
As Drstrangelove said, I don't think they're directly comparable because they fulfil different roles, and don't actually have that much in common to make it an either/or choice. It will obviously depend on what else is in your list, but there's no reason you can't run both in the same list as Lumini...
