Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I heard some rumor that said even the scale of the miniatures would be changing slightly so that the old models would look out of place next to some of the newer models in order to get people to buy new models. Taken with salt, but the pics of the new Sigmarines would seem to corroborate it, GW want...

Re: How important is terrain in your games?
Long enough to get a good variety. No, we don't use the dangerous terrain types either, so all forests are regular forests no Blood Forests or Venom Thickets etc. Other questions: Do you scatter terrain? (yes, all terrain moves artillery dice inches in scatter dice direction). We also continue to us...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Wow, there is a lot there.
With some modification, there is some good stuff there, but taken in context of WHFB, it's mostly excrement. Taken in it's own context, it could be a fun evening.
I'll be interested to see how the Warscrolls complement this.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Age of Sigmar looks like a quick "beer and pretzels" game. For those who are looking for not much more than that, I think they will be quite satisfied with Age of Sigmar. I intend to play it as such knowing full well that it likely will not be capable of scratching the itch I have for a de...

Re: Painting Mounts and Riders Seperatley?
That's how I do my riders (at least, the ones that can separate from the mounts). It's as simple as you described, and it allows you to get a great paint job around the edges where the rider meets the mount. I glue the pin into the rider, and then drill a hole in the back of the steed because that w...

Re: Wil's Autumn Wood Elf Army Update Handmainden + terrain
Not really, and with Age of Sigmar so close anything I say is really just a guess. But you are on the right track, paint the model first, and then use it how you want to. I have ~8 different hero models that I rotate around. With AoS's increased focus on individual models and less on cohesive units,...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Very intriguing. "Play how we want" can mean many things to many people, I'll be curious to see what that means in actuality. I'm rather concerned by the bit about "bases are no longer important." At some point, you are going to have to measure something. You can either measure f...

Interesting that the rules will be out before the boxed game. How long do we figure before the first FAQ comes out? July 5th at least, right?

Re: 500 points for a campaign
If you feel vulnerable to enemy magic, you may want to think about swapping out your Waystalker/Ruby Ring (which Bill rightly pointed out will do nothing in that regard) for a lv 1 Shadowdancer although that will mean you may need to rejigger your list and I quite like it the way it is. As for what ...

Re: SIGMARINES!!! HO!!!!!!
Well, if I didn't want to play Sigmarines before, I certainly don't now. Too much of a Final Fantasy vibe for my tastes. But it is great to finally see some leaks and pics.

Re: why are we so afraid of cannons?
SmithF really hit the nail on the head. Against a single Empire cannon, there odds aren't exactly stacked against you, but that is rarely the case and also not what really puts the fear of cannonballs into people. Another big part of the issue is that now you are (almost) guaranteed to be hit by the...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Exactly. Unless they are really changing the playstyles of the armies in question, I have no interest in playing Chaos or Empire/Sigmarites. I prefer low armor, high mobility, combined arms armies which is what drew me to Wood Elves in the first place and that's what has kept me in the hobby for so ...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Of course GW can release a lot of books in a short time, nobody is saying they can't. But when that has been the case, there has always been a solid leadup of rumors roughly outlining the full release. I'm just concerned that we haven't heard anything else about the rest of the release wave. GW has ...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Agreed, MerlinEF. Age of Sigmar is GW's attempt to revitalize the Warhammer brand, by providing an easy intro to the game for new players but also by updating the rules for what is a defacto "9th Edition" (even though it isn't called that). Unless they expect everybody to switch to Chaos o...

Orion conversion
So I have an idea for converting an Orion figure. For the head, I want to use this head http://www.destroyerminis.com/wp-conten ... dir_01.jpg
Does anybody know if Andrea Miniatures does bitz orders (or, hope against hope, have one of the Ithandir heads that they didn't use?)?

Re: New ETC List
I can understand using the scouts as a place to hide characters, but why flank the scouts with Eternal Guard?
I would pump the Eternal Guard to at least 20, take the scouts to a max of 10, and add a unit of Wardancers as a better character bunker (better than scouts at least).

Re: Table too small
One easy solution is to put down a sheet or something to protect your table, then to merely use the dining room table to support a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Just remember not to lean on the plywood. Some consequences of skinny deployment zones. It will force terrain towards the center of the table, bloc...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Has anybody heard any information about future release dates of the other Age of Sigmar armybooks?
Chaos and Sigmarites seems like they will ship with the boxed game on July 11 (Free slushie day!) but do we have any information on the other ~4 army books?
