hi there, hope you have fun wandering the woods! i'm a former chaos player aswell, but with the emergence of the Tomb Kings and Wood Elves, they've been sent back to the Chaos Wastes (i.e the attic) The Tomb Kings were soon to follow as those lovable hippies grasped my heart (and paintbrushes) with ...

hmm your right that would make the WS2 vs WS5 a bit unbalanced but making it 4's to hit would be too easy IMO i dont have a problem with WS3 vs WS4 fights or vice versa, as thats pretty balanced the thing i have a problem with is the fact that the best To Hit roll is 3+ i think your table deals with...

@ Yak: surely they could just add an extra rule i.e if my WS is more than double yours i hit you in 2+

that would still be reasonably easy to grasp wouldnt it?

you can get almost hair-thin string from some hobby/art stores so i dont think there would be a problem with the string being too thick

you could always try the different techniques on spare bows or something, because then it wouldnt matter if it did break i still think dents would be best but try it out and see what happens!

btw i admire your willpower!! i wouldnt have the determination to give bow strings to all my models!!!

actually fishing line could work quite well i hadnt thought of that! unfortunately i havent tried using wire i just assumed string would be best so thats what i used for a couple of figures. Sarlinspellweaver (bit of a mouthful!!) has a good point though - it might be worth just using it on characte...

Beithir: Agreed. That (and modifying saves) is what makes S/T more important than WS. Make the WS table similar to the S/T one, and it's fine IMO. yep i totally agree it should be the same as the S/T table i.e higher WS should have easier hits against low WS opponents (and i mean WS1/2 here) And ye...

NightKnight's right greatswords attack last anyway i think that WS and I are just as useful as each other in the right circumstances However i do have certain qualms with the 'To Hit' table i think its ridiculous that the best To Hit roll is 3+ i mean surely a WS7 character should hit a WS2 skeleton...

although Yak does have a good point about the glade riders, i would take glade riders as fast cavalry can be decisive, especially in games this size. if you use terrain to your advantage i dont think you'll have too much of a problem with them being shot up. the two dryad units are good because thei...

i like the rules Morten but i dont think war machines of any kind fit in with the wood elf 'ethos' they havent really got any sort of complex machinery, as every is kind of 'manipulated' by spellweavers etc.

it could be argued that treemen are wood elf warmachines in a sense...

i think drilling the bows could create problems for you i.e the bows splitting, cracking etc and also knots at the ends of the bow would look quite unrealistic IMO your best bet would probably be to carve dents and use string, as string is far more flexible to work with then wire and looks more conv...

yeah like Yak said i'd drop a unit of GG from personal experience 3 units would struggle to get decent fire arcs ad just give away more easy V.P's another unit of GR is a good idea and would fit the fluff perfectly (after all the main character in Guardians of the Forest is one...) just out of inter...
