I could have drawn the forest table

There was no Treesinging, my Branchwraith was not upgraded.

I used

Branchwraith 65

2 x 10 Dryads 240

1 x 3 Treekin

If the equal generals are equally bad, then High Elves would seem to be at disadvantage, as would Asrai, and Brettonians would seem to be at an advantage.

If the equal generals are equally good, then I would vote for Asrai or Tomb Kings, but Hordes of Chaos and Dwarfs have interesting possibilities.

I was unlucky, he got first move and a well aimed shot got both my Branchwraith and one of the Treekin. I had messed up the deployment as the shot could get both by about 1/16 inch and my Wards couldn't save enough wounds. 10 handgunners chew through Dryads pretty fast and besides, itdidn't matter h...

Lost first battle

PLayed in 500 pt mini tournament but got knocked out in first round. At least I lost to the eventual winner. 4' x 4' themed table in the Khemrian Desert. There was a 12" wide 'road' connecting the center of each deployment area. Around the center of the table was a 12" radius clear circle ...

I'm quite good at guessing ranges (keep me away from Nova Cannon) and I have also played against people who have 'ranged' prectically every point of their home terrain. I have also seen people, during breaks, measuring up tournament tables that they might play on. I consider that any asymmetric adva...

Not a lot of help, but what is Gauntlet of Power? I cannot find it inany of my Army Books, even Storm of Chaos. Is this a foreign translation of some other weapon?

If I can't get the two points, I could consider

Branchwraith 65

2 x 10 Dryads 240

1 x 3 Treekin 195

If the High Elf player uses the Lothern Sea Guard army, they will probably win. Otherwise, if the Dwarf player uses Thorek, they will probably win. Othewise, the best general is very likely to win.

That kind of thinking can be a pain because then my opponents will want to define as much terrain as possible as 'non-woods' so that the Asrai special abilities, such as Treesinging, do not come into play.

Although it's not 100% clear, I'd be testing on the Ld10 of the engineer.

It would be nice for gw to clear this one, and similar, up. I expect something will be addressed with the Empire FAQ due out soon.

My plan is to have 48 Dryads for my all-tree army, so another box is no problem. They are quick to build and paint. I'm not sure that they will give me the two points either. That's the same as 2008 in 2000. The themed tables may be a problem because I expect few to be woods or forest themes and I m...

Naked Branchwraith and two minimum Dryads comes to 257, so no Treeman. Even so, that would be totally cheesy at this point level. I feel bad about a Treeman in 1000 points. The remaining points would allow for 10 Dryads or 3 Treekin and 3 more Dryads or Branch Nymphs. Alternatively I can upgrade the...

500 points for mini-tourney help.

Here's the models I have.

1 Branchwraith (painted)

24 Dryads (12 painted)

4 Treekin (2 painted)

1 Treeman

Not all are painted, but I can paint anything I want before Saturday.

How should I configure this for an all-comers 500 point list to fight on 4' x 4' themed tables???

I presume then that in a battle with Allies, I could allow my allied player to re-roll as well?

Why shouldn't the 'allows' apply to me? It's 'my' item; why can't I allow a re-roll?

It doen't limit it to the caster or the bearer's side.

I too would go with all animals if possible. I suppose a 'hunstman' with horn would do too. I think I'd try to keep the animals similar.

How about a unit made from the classic giant spider, one of which has a rider with a 'spider horn'?

Sorry for being unclear. By non-WHFB, I meant using 40K and LotR models or conversions, Epic, Mordheim. I spoke to someone who was not allowed to use anything but WHFB models at a USGW event. He was specifically not allowed to use a converted Talos as a Hydra and a LotR model as a Dragon. Since I am...

GW and non-WHFB models.

How hard-nosed is GW these days about non-WHFB models in Tournament armies? My 40K armies, particularly my IG, have a lot of non-40K models and I never had any problems. Has there been a tide of change recently? I have heard that some tournaments ban non-WHFB models and their simple conversions.
