Because, ultimately, it is GW who is responsible for supplying their retailers, regardless of whether they're independent.

Re: Got FAQs for new book?

Hey Beithir, I always assumed that mounted spears were an exception to the rule in this edition of always using specialist weapons, due to the wording in their entry. But I won't argue with more evidence to support Wild Riders getting continued use of their AP Spears! Regular spears are an exceptio...

Re: Got FAQs for new book?

4) Where as the entry for a Spear (Mounted) in the BRB on page. 91 specifically states that they are only used in a round in which the model charged, the rule for Asrai Spear (Mounted) states 'The Strength bonus granted to a mounted model by an Asrai spear only applies in a turn in which the wielde...

Gents, no more "trolling" accusations please. It's highly disrespectful, and there's no call for it. Boskie43 is just as entitled to express his take on the rules as anyone else; there is no need for insults simply because his take doesn't match up with your own.

Where's the Dragon ? Still sitting on the painting table, waiting for his turn :D Is this the same one that we bought together with the sisters? Yep :smirk: Bet you're glad the Sisters are still in the book after they traveled all the way to Australia for you :D I like the battle chronicler. Do you...

Re: Eternal Guard

If anything, I'd like to discuss if people think it's worth giving them shields at all? When? Why/why not? Honestly, I don't see any reason *not* to take shields. If it were a choice between taking shields and getting another unit on the table then it might be a different matter, but for 25-30pts i...

Re: Eternal Guard

I didn't mean to dismiss the idea completely. I just think a lot if people are getting varied away with how useful Forest Stalker is going to be, and not really seeing that you have to force the situation on your opponent, and you can't just rely on your opponent charging into the woods, unless you...

Re: Eternal Guard

My point was that a wood is not mobile (at least not with a unit in it anymore), so if you can't rely on the enemy coming through the wood. Outside the wood you can move around as needed to block the enemy off, in the woods you rely on them bring too impatient to go round, or passing close enough f...

Re: Eternal Guard

The same goes for GG and WWR The problem is that your opponent will simply ignore them, as there's no benefit to charging them most of the time. If he does charge them,it's probably because his 20 strong block of ironbreakers led by Urist McFacebreaker just don't have anything better to do right no...

Re: Branchwraith joining elf unit?

Yes, Branchwraiths can join elf units now - there is no longer any restriction for what type of character can join particular units (i.e. Forest Spirits in non-Forest Spirit units, and vice versa). As for how it would work in terms of base size - it's all there in the rulebook. If a character is not...

Re: Wild Riders/Sisters of the Thorn magnetizing for dual us

The heads of the two different units use some of the same parts. And not easy to magnetize parts. The front of the head is different for each unit, but the main part of the head is the same. And the front part is awfully small to magnetize. You might be able to work something out with other heads. ...

Re: Rangers, Formation & Use Thereof

The current setup I have in mind is a unit of 20 accompanied by a Glade Captain with GW, formed up in 3x7. I will admit that the inclusion of the Glade Captain is partly because I don't want to have to buy a third box for one model, either (but I probably will eventually anyway!) When going big I'm...

Re: Wild Riders/Sisters of the Thorn magnetizing for dual us

As Cihrai said, there are separate torsos for the Sisters and Wild Riders so you can just glue the heads to the appropriate torso. I plan on doing this myself, to get maximum use out of the whole kit, and I would actually use a combination of pin and magnet if there is room for it. The problem with ...

Thanks for the input so far :) 1. While placing the Glade Guard so close to your opponent despite the fact they were ignoring all To Hit penalties may not seem like the wisest decision to make their points back, it did draw his Chariots straight into them, leaving your Wild Riders free to wreak havo...

BSB + Hail of Doom Arrow + Bow of Loren + Light Armor + Shield + Asrai Spear + Elven Steed (Needs unit protection) I wondered about this. Your High Elf friends have probably all been cheating you all this time ;) I'm afraid that's not actually correct. High Elves don't actually have the 'Fight In Extra Ranks' rule, just us our 'Forest Stalker' rule doesn't give us 'Fight In Extra Ranks'. The rule itself is Martial Prowess, and allows...
