Re: AOS Strategy: "Pull from the Front", "Pull from the Back
This changes when you have multiple units in combat. Say you have a character charging on one flank and a charging unit to the front hitting a mob of defending models. Say the charging unit hits first. It kills buckets of dudes. The defending player pulls the models from the side where the characte...

Re: AoS - New units?
I've heard surprisingly little about what the new faction will entail but I don't think we'll see anything else for the Wanderers, I think any new Aelf faction will have it's own units and it's own aesthetic which may or may not mesh well our current Wood Elf look and feel. GW is letting us use our ...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
Great point about claiming objectives. I'd expect that to be a major feature of the official AoS factions.
Will the old WHFB factions and the new AoS factions be compatible?

A solid start, but I would try to add an Eagle (maybe at the expense of the 3rd box of WR).

Re: Bonsai the Great and his whacky adventures
* During the battle, I completely forgot about tree whack. The warboss having initiative 4, do you think it was worth it? That depends was it the warboss' armor save that was giving you problems or the ward save (he had a 2+/4+ if I remember)? It certainly could have helped get around that armor sa...

Re: AOS Strategy: "Pull from the Front", "Pull from the Back
Based on "(the models do not have to be within range or visible to an attacking unit)." I don't think it matters as long as you were in range at the start of the combat phase. I think the question behind your question is 1) Do models attack collectively (all at the same time) like in WHFB?...

Well done. nice read.
It doesn't seem like Judas did much for you during the game, would you replace him with anything?
Do you think a Treeman was too many points at this level?

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
So we've seen the main rules, which, I would think are unlikely to change in the near future outside of a supplement packet (for tournaments or such). But the only army rules we've seen so far is the inclusion rules for existing armies. What new things or changes do you all hope we see when the offi...

I did the exact same thing for my first squad of wild riders, except I used Marauder torsos because I didn't think I could get Dryad torsos to fit well. They look great!

Re: In Awe of The Woods
We were all young elves once, no need to apologize at all.
It's all well and good to focus on one phase or another, but you should be aim to have something constructive to do in all phases. Some shooting, some good combat, some magic, lots of movement, some ambushing, some scouting, etc.

Re: Project Manticore: FOC
Thanks for the reply Frogboy! It's easy enough to give individual armies slight variations in their Org Chart (like with High Elves having extra special/rare slots), do you think it would be too confusing to have some armies work on a percentage and some armies work on a slot basis? Or would that be...

Project Manticore: FOC
Does anybody have opinions one way or another on the pros and cons of 8th edition's switch to percentages vs 7th edition's unit slots? Would they be better off combined? Would it be better off to say something along the lines of: < 2000pts: 0 Lord choices, 2+ Core units at a minimum of 25% TP (total...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
-Great Eagles can contain multiple eagles per unit. Interesting. -Great Eagles do more attacks if they charged. Very nice touch. -Dryads are faster than elves on foot. Nice touch. -Warhawk Riders are still pretty awesome. -For printing PDF's, Wardancers and Shadow Dancers should have been on the sam...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Aezeal, I think you need to re-conceptualize your ideas about what makes a unit weaker in Age of Sigmar. In WHFB, there were a number of factors going into what made units "strong" or "weak", most of which are being eliminated or reformulated into something completely different. ...

Re: PVC for sculpting?
There is one tool you could use which would cut it easily, but it is a more elegant tool for a more civilized age (crosshilts optional).
I would try to find some sheet styrene rather than PVC, from what I know it is easier to work with. Try and find a 0.02 thickness.

Re: 500 pts lists
I really like that first one. I might consider dropping the Branchwraith for a Great Eagle.
You might want to consider finding the old Warband rules and playing some games with those, they are really awesome for small points games.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
So now we have 40k and 40f? By the time August gets here we'll have stories about how some groups of Stormcast Eternals have begun to whisper against Sigmar, led by their Primecast, Horuss....
In the grim darkness of the future, there is only 40k.
You heard it here first.

If you want to return to 8th edition, you'll need to get an armybook second hand off ebay because I don't believe the GW Webstore sells them anymore.
