You know, I don't know...I mean the forest dragon is a forest spirit, but the glade lord isn't. It's an interesting idea though, I'll do some more research

Re: 750pt escalation list for local GW league.

This is my 750 list for the escalation league I'm currently playing in. I'm 3-0 right now, due in no part to my tree kin who underperform everytime :P

Spellweaver (Lore of Fire) (General) 185

Waystalker 90

13 Glade Guard 156
Trueflight Arrows 39
195

4 Tree Kin 180

5 Waywatchers 100

Re: 2500 versus Ogres (friendly match, experienced opponent)

The game was played through 5 turns before we had to pack up. I think I had the upper hand for the last turn and might have blown away at least two of his three remaining ogre blocks. As it was I came ahead on points 1100 and change to 1000. Close but not in his favor and tilting hard for the last ...

Re: Lv 4 or 2 Lv 2s?

Well the choice of a level 4 has an advantage over 2 level 2s in the form of 2 more lores to choose from. But 2 mages means more arcane items, which can be an advantage all it's own. I think the choice of a level 4 versus 2 level 2s is more about what the rest of my army looks like. For instance I l...

Id say no more than dryads, but reducing the strength of the unit their engaged with is a good way to enhance their survivability. Doesn't matter that their ward sucks if they never have to roll it

Re: Unkillable Chaos Lord

What has worked for me was running both shadow and high. Arcane unforging has a chance to drop his ward to 6+ reroll ones, and it becomes a priority for him to dispel, likewise with the withering. Either one will open him up for your Waywatchers. Once you get rid of the talisman, he goes down to co...

Re: Dryad Aspects (tree types)

Although I don't know much about the different species of trees, I do know how to look at a unit and come up with ideas to make the unit either better at their job or shore up a weakness they suffer from. These ideas are all based on an infantry block that is supposed to tie units up in grinding clo...

The spell specifically states you switch strength with leadership when rolling to wound with close combat attacks.

Re: 2500 versus Ogres (friendly match, experienced opponent)

Well I'm not convinced of the effectiveness of WW versus ogres, they have high toughness with little armor, so I feel like those points can be better spent elsewhere. If I were to face ogres (and I have before), I'd bring a horde of WWR and a treeman ancient, and build my list around them. WWR and f...

Re: 2400pt Team Tournament Ultra avoidance list + Light coun

I think it's awesome someone on these forums took a stab at the light council, although I suppose I'm having trouble getting a good grasp of it's effectiveness versus the amount of points it costs. Last I checked, there's only one spell in the lore of light that benefits from other lore of light cas...

Re: Special Character: Amadri Ironbark

It doesn't seem to make much sense to make tree kin core when he is included in an army list. Just cause he is a tree kin doesn't mean there are a ton more where he is sort of thing. Being lord of the summerstrand might make sense to give him another special rule, but again, I don't think it's a goo...

This is a really good idea actually. Against WoC lists, chimeras and demon princes are all but guaranteed. That flying movement will make them uncatchable as well.

Re: 3000 point tournament list

Well if you want to keep the duality theme and drop down to 2500 I'd drop a waystalker, your BSB and a Treeman then throw the bow of Loren on your other waystalker. I recommend dropping the BSB because your list runs in a loose formation with no infantry blocks that would readily benefit from the LD...

Re: Help me build a 2000 point Argwylon Army

Like above, I'd go with shadow to enhance your shooting phase. Also I'd drop the great eagles from list for more war hawk riders. Great eagles are good if you have big immobile blocks of infantry, but since you have so many fast, low model count units, adding punch to your war hawk riders seems like...

Re: 1500pts vs. High Elves and night Goblins

Well since you are facing off against numerous, low toughness enemies with high initiative, shadow's usefulness will be really marginalized. I'd recommend lore of fire instead, for lots of ranged strength 4 attacks. Also, hail of doom arrow on a relatively low BS model like a spellsinger makes me a ...

It sounded like you had the edge when you guys stopped with all the shooting you still had and probably would have won as a result. I've always wondered how arcane bodkin glade guard and a level 4 shadoweaver would fare against dwarves. Good work regardless

Re: Treeman Ancient - viable in 1500pts?

I think a Treeman ancient at 1500 is viable, given you don't upgrade it's wizard level.

The lack of units at that point level that could kill him off in one turn, and with the lore of life attribute, he is all but guaranteed to survive the abuse thrown at him
