Re: Treeman bits
As I don't have a treeman yet, I was planning to buy the set with three of them and some dryads. There should be plenty of spare bits to make some treekin. Based on the work you have done this far it looks like it should work. The extra parts from the dryads are also wonderfull for basing...

Re: Characters units and skirmishers rule
Other tricksters shard could be useful against those ward saves. Its only 15pts and could do wonders with killing blow.
How would this work with re-rollable ward saves?

Re: Kaese's painting progress
Had some time to finish the painting on the sisters test model. Now I just need to finish the base and make few friends for her.

Re: Kaese's painting progress
I finally managed to get my head around the colors on the sisters and managed to paint a test model to see what it would look like. I have to say that I'm quite pleased on the results. There are still some finishing touches to be made before the model is finished though. :) Sisters_WIP.JPG I was als...

Re: Characters units and skirmishers rule
Why would anybody want to have a unit of characters only? Outside of combat it just seems like too expensive target for spells and shooting without any cannon fodder..

Re: What We Would Change Revisited
The fact that lvl4 mage has same change to channel dice as lvl1 is really frustrating. I would make some changes to make the magic phase little more interesting and slightly more in favor of the casting player. - dice for 1-2lvl mages and 2 channeling dice for 3-4lvl mages - casting channeling on +5...

Re: Branching from Ulthuan [PLOG] UPDATE 14.04
I was more worried how the front of the hood would work with the collar as that would be more difficult to fix. Based on the work you did it looks better than I imagined. It is funny how easy it is to paint a good looking eagle when you use the hobbit ones. 15min painting and it looks better than al...

Re: Branching from Ulthuan [PLOG] UPDATE 14.04
It looks like the champions axe from the wwr(/eg) box.
Nice conversions. I had similar plans to mix wwr heads to shadow warriors kit. Nice to see what they woul look like

Re: spellsinger conversion
The model looks like an fighty mage, so it makes sense to have a staff that can be used as a weapon I also noticed that the bulky appearance on the last picture is perspective problem.

Re: spellsinger conversion
I really like the Lelith model and at firts I was kind of sad to see the model being broken down. Now that I see the complete model I just have to say it is gorgeous!
The staff looks a little bulky near the orb, but otherwise it looks perfect.

Re: An old elf returns ... "New" army project
My experience with spray warnish is that the "matt" is alway more like semi-gloss. So I would stick with a matt warnish that you apply with a brush.

Re: An old elf returns ... "New" army project
Really nice work on the colors. I really like the color being natural with wood elves. Only minor problem looks to be the gloss on some areas, especially on the scouts. I would try to mask this with matte warhish or "wash" with watered down paint.

Re: Painting & Modeling Challenge frequency
I agree on two months, if three is too long time to wait. One month just seems too short (at least for me ) to finish anything.

Re: Kaese's painting progress
I used to have few good brushes, but 10 years of lousy storage was too rough on them. Too bad the place where I used to buy them no longer exists. I have been trying to find a hobbystore where i could go and check the brushes, but migth be I need to buy something online. I don't remember exactly how...

Re: Kaese's painting progress
Thanks! The shadows didn't actually take so much time as I just used watered down inks on top of the base color. Small details are really frustrating for me as my brush doesn't want to keep its point longer than few seconds. I apparently got an imperfect standard brush from Armypainter. I agree with...

Kaese's army (Treeman & friends)
I just recently started collecting Wood elves after coming back to Warhammer after roughly 10 years. I used to play 40k back then but I always wanted to try fantasy. New work colleague, who have played for 15+ years, gave me a perfect opportunity to start. At the moment I have about 1800 points wort...

Re: Baardahs hobby corner
Is that hawk made from the Hobbit plastic eagles? That looks way better than the hawks from wood elf range.
