Re: P&M Challenge (conversions and unit-fillers) [Yuri Wins]
Congratulations Yuri! The model looks really nice and it looks like there is almost more of your sculpts than original model. It looks like you spent more hours on your conversion than rest of us combined, so it is only fair for you to win this. Owning that kind of totally unique model is priceless....

Re: Mid summers eve on Friday!
I have to ask what is the purpose of the branchwraith in the list when you don't have dryads. It can't be for combat support as base sizes doesn't match and life is too unreliable for lvl1 mage unless you plan for signature spell.
So is it just to give regeneration save for waywatchers?

Re: Preparations against DE
I would go for treeman ancient instead uf Durthu. He is not a killing machine, but insanely difficult to destroy when life spells regenerate the wounds back. And you are thinking of taking life anyway. It is more likely for the pegasus to charge an ancient than Durthu and ancient is actually harder ...

Re: Sisters of the thorn
My intention wasn't to compare the sisters with glade riders, but more or less with a generic shooting fast cavalry unit from any army. Sisters are way too expensive if the plan is to use them just as a normal fast cavalry unit. The ward is good, but they are still fragile unit. Shooting is terrible...

Re: Sisters of the thorn
That is true :D With sisters the problem is the 12" range combined with high price tag. You don't want to put the unit in a position where there is a high risk of losing them. In non-optimal situation most units in the game can at least try to do something other than just evade. ;) Other shooty...

Re: Sisters of the thorn
I just played another game with a 5 man unit of sisters yesterday at 1000 points and I take back what I said. They took out a unit of handgunners and a hellblaster volley gun while providing me with magic offense and defense for the entire game. I'll admit I was quite wrong about them >.< Still the...

Re: Sisters of the thorn
Sisters can be a real pain in the ass against melee heavy armies, if you manage to find a gap to slip through their line. If they turn a unit around to hunt the sisters, that unit basically does nothing for the rest of the game. Otherwise your can safely do whatever you wish. Behind enemy lines is b...

Re: Sisters of the thorn
Unit of five works well enough if you are not playing in a highly competitive games. I've had few games where the unit didn't actually do anythin other than harrass the enemy flanks. In few games the shield and/or curse have been game changing (I don't really like spamming dwellers, purple sun etc. ...

Re: Silverleaf's wardancer kinband
I have used brake fluid to remove the spray paint on the models. The plastic model can soak there at least few days without any real damage. This is only solution I know can remove spay paint. Not sure though what it will do to green stuff. I have a model with green stuff on that needs cleaning, so I...

Re: An old elf returns ... "New" army project
Those models look really good now that you got rid of the shininess. The details on that horse are so good looking that it makes me want to use some extra effort on my own horses
Now you just have to make the bases and you have an army that most would envy

Re: Wardancers and Waywatchers
I have used a unit of 10 dancers in last two games with completely different results. In the first game against high elves They got wiped out on turn 2 by enemy shooting (and my treeman ancients dimensional cascade str10 template ). The second game against chaos was completely different story....

Re: P&M Challenge (conversions and unit-fillers) [VOTING]
I was hoping you would say that. I just started to paint my entry yesterday evening and the model just keeps getting better by each layer of paint. :D I bet everybody would like to see all the great models in the competition fully painted. Of course the competition cant be just for these models as i...

Re: Few questions after a game
I guess because per pg 56, a fleeing unit that fails to roll higher than pursuers dies immediately, where it stands. This is how we also played the pursue. I don't think it makes sense, but can't really argue against the rulebook on this. I tried to find something to back the -1 hit modifier on lon...

Re: Few questions after a game
Thanks. It looks like we played most of it right. Shooting at a lone character was the only one, as neither of us found any referance for this in the rulebook. Can you give me tha page number where this can be found?

Few questions after a game
Last night I played a game with lots of close combat. Few questions arose that we couldn't find a proper answer from the rulebook. 1. After the terrot check is passed, do you test again for fear in cc phase? 2. When charging into a fleeing unit, do you stop o the spot where you catch the fleeing uni...

Re: I need help with my miniature case!
I just got the GW crusader case today, and I really like the design. No unit specific slots and no cutting, so it is quite easy to use. They say it can be used with what ever models you have, but I'm a little sceptical if it will protect the treemen. This wouldn't solve the problem with the spears a...

Re: 2400 forest spirit list for friendly "tournament"
Unicorn weaver is out of question as we play with 25% lord/heroes. Unicorn with dryads sounds tempting though, so I will have to consider singer on an unicorn. I completely forgot that strangle root will almost always be at long range due to 12" range :(. 20 points (x3) for little to none chanc...

2400 forest spirit list for friendly "tournament"
I have played about all of my games with a shooting and evading army, so I decided to go for something completely different. I ordered the box wit treemen and dryads a week ago and thought of building the army around it. So here is the list I have been thinking. + Lords (380pts) + Treeman Ancient (3...

Re: An old elf returns ... "New" army project
Your painting is really clean and the color theme is great. The contrast is a bit too strong for my taste, and it makes the model look a little cartoonish. The model will stand out better from the battlefield though. I can see that you solved the problem with the inks. Did you change to another ink,...

Re: Yanchusart's Army Progress - Updated 04/20/15- Pic Heavy
I think it is easiet to do after most of the model is done. Just add thin line of ink between the saddle and the horse. It can also be done to almost all the areas where you think there would be a gap between two surfaces. This also helps to mask any imperfect painting between two colors :D I normal...

Re: Yanchusart's Army Progress - Updated 04/20/15- Pic Heavy
The horses look really nice and natural. Only problem is the edge highlights on the saddle as highlighting everything wouldn't make sense when the rider is seated. I agree that it can be difficult to use washes sometimes especially with light colors. It could be usefull to shade some areas with ink ...

Re: Characters units and skirmishers rule
So it is roughly 22.2% change to kill the tzeench disk lord with the other tricksters shard.
The bad thin is that the shard makes his role quite obvious so it seems unlikely to catch the disk. I would keep my distance if I were the chaos player.

Re: Kaese's painting progress
I like it. the colour scheme is great, and I really like the clean white on the steed. The color is actually really light grey that shifts slightly to blue. The paint is "wolf grey" from Vallejo range. I tried to use pure white for the highlights, but I didn't like the results. After this...
