This urge boggles me, though. Why would you trade AP for a 6++ parry?

Re: On Wardancers - Experiences and tactical advice; Yay or
I tried plopping a shadow dancer into my EG unit, mostly to do his negate ranks thing. It is a fun trick, but kind of limited in what armies it hurts. But in an elf heavy metagame, he can act as a dual purpose scroll caddy in a pinch.

Re: How viable?
The one large TF unit works well enough, but the screen has to be better or there needs to be a moonstone guy in there for late game escape act. I personally use EG as my deflector shield for the unit and conga if someone is brining something really rude to the table (Gutstar, 50 man Plaguebearers, ...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Yeah people never seem to think that I will charge with them and I get exposed flanks on chariots and monsters a lot with them. Turns out that unstompable WS4 4++ units are pretty survivable against monsters, even at T3. I get the desire to try and imitate the DE Brolock Bus idea, but I think the Wo...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
I am talking mostly about personal experience, both as a WE and DoC GT player, so it is not strictly theory hammer from my view point. I play different from most people though, so your mileage might vary. I provide my view simply as food for thought. My wife and I generally play a similar blend of D...

Re: In What Order?
That order sequence is correct, but the enfeebled greatsword guy is still ultimately S3, because base characteristics can only be skunked to a one and gear is always added afterward.

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
I can tell you from personal experience that while Cohorts are more efficient, Saurus bring a lot to the table against daemons, especially when you have a few two packs of swarms hanging out to give them poison. A greater daemon or large beast unit might choke a block of them out, but not without so...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Well I can tell you the following from personal experience, addressing some of that list: Flies- Actually not that hard for woodies to deal with. Wild Riders can go head on and beat these guys and they are slow moving enough that there is plenty of time to shoot them, as well. The larger units can b...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Well lizards based around strong core infantry backed by skinks have a huge advantage. Their basic infantry model, the saurus, is as cheap as the least costly DoC core model and packs two swings. The skink krox unit is actually ridiculously good against most units the DoC might bring to the table, t...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Phantasmagoria is weaker against ITP armies, but not by much. There is still a lot of crazy stuff you can do in terms of pooching people's steadfast and march block tests. And Acquiescence is more about pinning something in place so another unit can jump on it or parking someone's deathstar or leads...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Remarkably easy to pull the scroll out when you look at the rest of the lore. The one spell just does the random move thing with huge range, there is a character sniper, and of course Phantasmagoria. Drop Phantasmagoria on turn one and hit the main blocks with flame cannons and see what happens. It ...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
M20 (0r flying) L4 Slaanesh caster runs into the middle of your MSU fest and 6 dices boosted Cacophonic Caress every turn. All units within 12" take 2d4 hits that wound on 4+ with no armor. Any unit taking at least one wound gets ASL and random move 1d6 for hex duration. It is a hex, so being i...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
Is there any army that DoC fear? VC Scream armies, Night Goblin Gunline, Nurgle WoC, and Dark Elves. Wood Elves can be an issue if they bring the right stuff, too. High Elves with I Win banner are pretty much an autoloss, unless the DoC player is running Cacobomb. Empire and Dwarven full frontal ma...

I guess I find it somewhat surprising that with that level of experience in that format that he never came toe to toe with DoC, but then I can't imagine a lot of captains would want to pair woodies off against them, either. For what its worth, a Cacobomb army with two flame cannon grinders and a sid...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
So, you didn't focus on the horrors with the good spells and failed to get off key charges and lost then? Not to nitpick, but a lot of your batrep sounds like "my crutches didn't work like normal and I was confused" and "I can't shoot this entire off the board before combat like I usu...

Re: Waystalker opinions after a GT
After some playtesting at the 2k level this past week, I think a single Waystalker is a workable addition. In some games, notably against chaos, it is not going to do much beyond scouting to set up as bait. The games where it IS useful, however, it is great for picking up stray points. Being able to...

Re: BSB worth it?
It is how I have been rocking mine since the new book hit (I used to put mine on an Eagle). Basically, if it is a cannon fest where you play, Armor of Destiny is the go to item. Otherwise, Armor of Silvered Steel is an option. If you are surgical with it, you can really do some amazing maneuvers wit...

Re: Lv 4 or 2 Lv 2s?
Depends on how badly you want high lore in the army. I think two level 2 shadow or heavens is fairly effective and let you double up on support items (one with a moonstone and one with a scroll, generally). It also helps for point denial, as you won't randomly lose games from your general self immol...

I got one of these to act as a Stag BSB to go along side my normal stag guy. It fights rather nicely on a 50mm and looks great along side the GW models. It is a very frail model, however, so take extra precautions when travelling with it.

Re: Sisters of Twilight on Eagle rules
For Savage Beast, you would have to cast the boosted version to affect both sisters, in my interpretation. The standard version would allow you to select one sister to affect, as they are in essence two separate characters (though one MCav Model). I feel it would work this way on the Dragon as well.

Re: Avoiding the net list.
EG are viable as a speed bump, but they are not really going to outfight any comparably priced core combat unit, much less the elite ones. WWR are just not good enough, especially when so much of the army is fast moving and they compete against the better specials (Warhawks, Wild Riders, Sisters, Tr...

Re: Avoiding the net list.
The real issue is that if you want to fight AT ALL, you have to take Wild Riders (unless you are just going to 6d Mind Razor FTW every game) and the only really decent core are the archers, so fundamentally all WE lists are basically shaking out the same at their base. Now, there is a lot of wiggle ...
