Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Luckily 8th edition rules are solid so there was no real need to update the rules. If AoS doesn't fit me I hope I can find 8th players. it might be that with special rules etc the game can end up keepign enough depth to be interesting though. Easier movement doesn't mean there will be no tactics any...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Yeah I don't care much about lore changes.. but huge changes in the rules are less to my liking. I'll just try it and then see what the group wants to do.

I doubt you will need those eagles.. but they are cheap so if you like them keep them. I would prefer other things myself.

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/06/age-of-sigmar-world-background-more-rules.html hmmmz that doesn't sound like warhammer to me.. I guess I'll try it.. but chances of me ending up playing 8th hammer are increasing... I guess a lot will depend on what the few guys I play with do too, bravely play...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Very intriguing. "Play how we want" can mean many things to many people, I'll be curious to see what that means in actuality. I'm rather concerned by the bit about "bases are no longer important." At some point, you are going to have to measure something. You can either measure ...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
No FAQ's take years with GW usually
Well that quote says the rules will be very different.. I wonder what they'll change. Seems more dramatic than I anticipated. Well in a week we'll know more.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Ow you really should do that it's a great model. I really love Durthu especially. I was tempted to give him a spearish thing instead of the regular sword but I ended up deciding to go with the normal pose since its very good. I now have 5 treemen I don't use. Old Durthu with the huge hand & 2 ol...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
nah Bill I disagree with you on the "new game" thing. I think the rules will be similar in the end so it's just a new version of WFB. I guess I'll just have to wait and see about the size of the stuff. Yes all the things you and Ramesesis mention could be reasons for GW to increase the min...

Are people who joined less than a year ago expected to read all 200+ pages to look for something as silly as rules?

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
The latest rumor kinda annoys me. These choas and sigmarites are clearly bigger than humans used to be. I'm fine with that for superhumans buffed by their god but it would be pretty annoying if the new elves are a head taller than the current elves. Seriously.. I can deal with most GW could throw at...

Didn't you just step (more like climbed) over the fence (or huge wall in your case) towards the "sense of humor included" side?
Have I already said it's nice to see that sense of humor?
But back on topic: what is a brony?

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Four pages would be enough for the two armies in the box exactly. Especially since there are no missiles involved as far as I can see. Yeah no missiles, no magic. Seems like a very boring game for people like us who know the whole game.. but it might be a good start point for some 13 year olds. Kin...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I do see the sigmarites as nice opposites for Chaos. Hopefully that means chaos isn't always the most tought looking army which is destined to win (end times proved me right). Dryads lolz.. my old metal ones (blocky treestump guys) on the 25 mm bases I must have like 15 of those.. and since I restar...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I heard that elves were going to get a major makeover as well. Kind of a combo of Native American, Aztec, and Pict. I personally like the more tidy and sophisticated elf design, but a more savage take could probably fit in with a wood-elf theme just fine. Well..we already have a lot of bare chested...

Outright dead is nasty but certainly not the only criterium to make cannons nasty.. loosing 2-3-4 wounds when you still need to fight the enemy army isn't all that either.

Re: Wild Riders
Putting the 2nd rank in a new unit that can
1. charge the same target and get the charge bonus for all attacks
2. charge another target if needed
3. charge the same unit in the flank if still pinned by the first unit
That makes loosing a few attacks not as bad as you portray it.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Hmm I see your point but ít's obvious that if they release a new edition and there are no armies to play with people will leave (to kings of war maybe)... GW should know that and while a lot of people seem to think there are no brains in the GW HQ I think it's not that bad :D. I think either we'll b...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I will be very disappointed if you only get withdrawn Empire and Chaos models in the Starter Set (maybe with one unique character) and only enough "rules" to play with the models in the box! I certainly won't buy that! Here's hoping you are wrong about this at least. Why do you hope I'm w...
