Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online

Not that I'm ignoring that massive post you just wrote Aezeal but I don't get why everyone and their Nan is trying to be the first cat to come up with a "balancing act" for the game. The game don't need balance, your opponent reaches in his army case and drops a chariot, now do you put a ...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online

Well Archaos did what my tournament organiser did after my first game: start counting wounds which seems way more fair than comparing models. Aezeal wrote: So current army selection rules can be severly abused (I could have put 5 shadowdancers instead of the 9 WW and it would be even more off). Howe...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

Ow not in the face  Lots and lots of options now, I'm not going to even read any of the fluff, I'll presume whatever army I build is still stuck in the Warhammer World "Bubble" With the simple rules and the options wide open this might just be my favourite game ever (well apart fro...

Re: Best 3/Worst 3 units Redux

Was this meant to be about 8th or about AoS? AoS favors all big models: treeman, Durthu and dragon are the way to go untill (hopefully soon) it gets an erratum on army selection. I just cannot see how GW made these rules. 8th: Waywatchers, scouts and wild riders. Great choices for shooting and melee...

"Bitchslap Frogboy Batman style" Get a grip or you will be talking with Konrad von Carstein soon. Nah, all in jest mate. :D I spotted one cool thing. Wood elf Chariots are back! Check the list at the end of the warscroll were you find the info about minis not having a scroll and w...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online

Is there anything in the rules that prevents you from bringing a combined army? Wood elf and Skaven for example. I can't see anything :S Why can a treeman move 6" but Durthu only 5"? Is it right that you can shoot even when in combat? A unit of glade riders in combat for example, can shoo...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

So looking at the rules you can now move than then charge: charge distance is equal for every model (2D6) so the movement is needed for fast units to get closer. It also means that cavalry (move 10-14 inches) could potentialy move/charge till 26 inch.. which is way more than the bow range of our arc...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

So wait, an elf could be fighting a snotling or a bloodthirster and the to hit rolls and to wound rolls are exactly the same? Magic looks boring :( Unicorns have been removed, WTF! It would be pretty easy to make a new warscroll though. Does bretonnia still have a uni? I think magic as it is now co...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

Actually I'm seeing a lot of nice stuff in our WE book. Sure the basic rules are WAY simpler.. but now Durthu can summon forest which in turn give other forestspirits (sylvaneths now) bonus stuff. There are new layers of complexity for other things that have been lost. Last week I was pretty sceptic...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

The biggest problem I have with these, Aezezal, is their pristine morality and an unfailing sense of righteousness, which is another eye-gouging similarity with the marines, accentuated even more in AoS. Marines at least leave you with a little space to criticise their actions, dogma etc. whereas t...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

I think it's rather odd everyone refers to them as spacemarines. I mean.. I get the reference to the 40K game and I see the similarities but when used so slanderous like this I need to point out that: realisticly these are knightly figures fitting in a high fantasy game: full armor, warhammers, shi...

(basicly your example says that too I think: elves with stronger stats will always be a better choice than simple skeletons). Re: 500 pts lists

I think that in these small numbers wildriders are probably the very single best option you can take. If you go full wild riders you will probably demolish everything unless he brings a 1+ AS with reroll character. Even if they have a shooty army I doubt they will be able to shoot enough to do enoug...

I would try to find some sheet styrene rather than PVC, from what I know it is easier to work with. Try and find a 0.02 thickness.
+1 for the reference.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

Wether I play 8th or AoS... GW's prices are too high for me to even consider buying their scenery. I'd not buy it at 50% of their current prices. Hyarion: I HAVE thought about how these rules would affect army building and that is where the problem comes from. I think army building was very importan...

SigMARINES chapters :D CI57NFAUMAAL7ZI.jpg CI5-k6CVEAAy5i4.jpg Oh dear <.< I'm thinking the Sig-Meh-Reens will be an elite army, I mean Chaos out number them so they must be some kind of super humans or Demi-gods. Re: How important is terrain in your games?

In our shop we usually: let one of us set up the table. Usually 2-3 forest and 2 hills then some other stuff (usually 2 largish pieces) that is usually impassable terrain. Buildings are impassable, they don't like fighting in buildings. Forest are normal forests (except my extra forest when I think ...

Someone who plays in my store plans to make some basic terrain (houses) this way.. I can see that workign since there could be less detail (it won't be GW quality.. but really who want's to pay for that kind of quality on terrain?)

Re: 500 pts lists

I think the melee list will not win against the armies you mentioned. The dryad might be nice if he doesn't have a caster, if you roll dwellers you will hurt him bad :D I think the shooty list has too much points in characters, though a good HoDA roll will help you a lot. It also depends on what he'...

Treeman/dryad army ? Will they be living in a seperate realm than the elves I wonder? They would fit either life or beasts... and elves could be in either too.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

Hi Cernunnos, I think this very valid point is going to take a while to sink in! Any idea when the "War scrolls" for our existing Wood Elves (Aelf) will be released? I am going to give Age of Sigmar a go as I like games that last about 1-2 hours using about 60 models per side; but it will...
