Re: help, how to beat OnG
While the metagame has changed considerably, I agree a 5+ ward save to a whole unit is quite good, but when we had access to Rhymer's Harp, almost nobody ever took it unless you were going for a 70 strong EG Phalanx.

Re: Stubborn Treekin
If I was running a Mage on a unicorn I'm not sure I really want to wang her in a unit of Treekin. I've been hanging around Naggie too long :smoke: but I digress.... Somethings Treekin will do great against, somethings will roll up Treekin like a wet pre-paper mill napkin. Which category your oppone...

Re: I need help with my miniature case!
I would go for a box with the plastic bags then. It will be simpler in the long run for you, I think. It also means that you won't be cutting foam for specific models which sorta locks you in to using that space for that model.

Re: I need help with my miniature case!
Have you tried pinning the banner pole? It will be tricky, but you should be able to get a piece of staple in there. I have 2 squads of Wild Riders, one of the normal models (albeit the previous edition's release), where I store the horses and riders separate and the riders fit in the regular slots ...

Re: Latest P&M Challenge (conversions and unit-fillers)
Shhhh, can you hear that? That's the sound of my (admittedly already slim) odds of winning going even further down to Baardah's other entries.
I can't wait to see more of such excellence.

Re: Artisan's Contest April 2015 Discussion Thread
I have a question about nXken's Ironbark item: Can the armor save from the Ironbark be improved by the normal means? Would a Wood Elf Captain wearing Ironbark, a regular shield, and mounted have a 1+ save that would drop to a 5+ armor save after an unsaved flaming wound? And several about Furyou Mik...

I meant the MadPuppet miniature, I have 2 of that model that I use in my army as Waywatchers/stalkers. I completely agree about the Legion of Everblight helmets. I have been looking to use some of the Legion of Everblight models with some Tyranid heads (so they'll have eyes) as conversions, but with...

Re: *Spoilers* Opinion on the future of the Wood Elves
I think there will continue to be an elven army, and that with some disciplined choices in troop/character/wargear selection it will be possible to field something that *looks* like a current Wood Elf army but will play very differently. Wood Elves themselves I fear will all but disappear. While the...

It's a great model, the sculpt is good, lots of good detail and very much in character with the GW Wood Elf miniatures.

Re: 3D Printing Files?
If you check out https://heroforge.com/ , I believe they use 3d printing as their production model (production... *model*, get it? I slay me). Given that they need to make their parts somewhat generic so that they will mesh with a variety of races/classes I believe that it would be entirely possible...

Here is the statement I saw: http://www.polygon.com/2015/4/22/8470925/total-war-warhammer-creative-assembly-sega "Total War: Warhammer is coming to Mac, SteamOS and Windows PC "soon," publisher Sega announced today. Sega said it has an "epic trilogy of titles" planned for To...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
It's a very valid idea. A big reason that has been put forward as to why the armies are being consolidated is to be able to re-brand them into something more protectable as GW IP. It is entirely plausible (likely is a different story) that GW said to CA "If you want to keep your license, then y...

Re: first my 2500 woodelves list
Disclaimer: I didn't sleep last night and my memorization of the 8th edition army book isn't where I'd like it to be. Where are you planning on putting the Heroes? Right now, I would drop the Waystalker and buy more Sisters to provide more cover for your mages (I'm guessing at least one of them will...

Re: New to wood elves and very lazy list
Given those requirements, I think your list is probably going to be about as good as it can realistically get, unless you turn into a Warhammer version of Edward Scissorhands. I would look at possibly adding a magic banner to one (or both) of the units of Wild Riders but that is pretty optional. Goo...

Re: What We Would Change Revisited
... but I don't see why people miss the kindreds. I didn't play much with the old book but during the year I did I used them once to get a wardancer noble and now I have shadowdancers for that. Give Shadowdancers and Waystalkers 50 p magic items allowance and just make the HoDA a non sniper item. H...

Re: Teaching game
Rather than try to fit everything into one list, I would make 2 or 3 lists and play a few fast games. Right now your list tries to put in just about everything into one list and it could end up overwhelming your friend as he tries to absorb the entire game at once. If you play a few games that try t...

Re: Teaching game
This is a very archery/magic focused list. I would also write a quick second list that is focused on combat with a minimum of shooting or magic to let him get a feel for a list that won't be a non-engagement list. Remember that these teaching lists don't need to be heavily optimized or power lists s...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
Rammie, I agree whole heartedly. It can be easy (but not always) to move from a narrow scope to a larger scope for story purposes. Mordheim, for instance, would continue to work well as a ruleset outside of the ruined city of Mordheim the city; all you have to do is change shards of Wyrdstone into s...

Re: Warhawk Riders
Glade Riders give you more arrows and the ability to take a banner (for certain scenarios and Comp restrictions) Wild Riders give you more close combat ability. Eagles give you a flying unit that is cheaper. WHR give you the benefit of flight (albeit more expensively), more combat punch than Glade R...

I know that 6th edition and 7th edition tactics can be quite different from 8th edition (and likely 9th edition) but everything I learned about how to be successful in Warhammer I got from the original Dune book the rest is just application. Rule 1: There is no combat without movement. Rule 2: When ...

Re: Greetings & Salutations
Smart decision to hold off until 9th edition comes out.
It's nice to meet someone else whose sword was first blooded on Grumman. At some point when you feel like your converting skills are up to par, you need to convert a swordmaster character.
