Re: simple Qs

1) I charge a unit. It declares "flee". I roll my charge distance = 2D6 + movement. The fleeing unit rolls it's flee distance - this is just 2D6 (unless swiftstride) right? Right So if 2D6+M > distance btwn units + their 2D6, I catch and destroy? No. They turn. They move. You measure the ...

Re: Thunderstomp Question

Yeah, I know that this Stomp issue is quite unclear, in terms of RAW. Tough I believe that spells will not work on it (for reasons I stated) and that this is RAI of what GW aims for. And I know that this is one of the issues we can talk about to no end - especially if we will add the FAQ vs WE AB is...

... I can not agree more. Tough the problem was that even now my blog post is horribly long. And adding this (and few more things) will make it even longer. So I take out the one thing I like most - the fact all armies have now they own unique playstyle. And that it is because 3 simple rules, who a...

Re: Unicorn's WE blog 2 - Why I like 8th

So, Unicorn, you have read it. I have read it. But I am finding the deeper I get into 8th, the more I find MMSU works for Wood Elves. Multiple Moderately Sized Units have somewhat better staying power, enough killing power and can pin. I screen with Dryads, pinning with Dryads and Glade Guard, then...

Re: Highborn and Spellweaver build?

How can you benefit from additional armaments if it isn't allowed to be used? By definition that means the effects are cumulative. You can not benefit from what is not allowed to be used. You can not benefit from GW if you have magical weapon, tough you are allowed to take it. By definition that me...

I think you miss one crucial sentense:
A special rule can boost a model's chances of causing damage, such as by granting poisoned weapons, or enhance its Strength.

Lol. This is pretty funny, as your arguments makes perfects sense logic-wise. But there is the problem that this game often do not act logic, but by the rules. I always play by the rules. The fact that I interpret them differently than you, while you may find that funny, doesn't mean that I am tryi...

Re: Highborn and Spellweaver build?

Yeah, the FAQ clears it. You can take any weapon you wish. This is ALL this FAQ is saying. They are considered to fight as if they ere armed with two hand weapons in close combat if they are in base contact with an enemy. The rules follows this and tells you that no matter what weapon you will wield...

Re: Thunderstomp Question

As for the potion of strength, I would say that it would help. You aren't hitting with the potion, it has already been used up. It doesn't exist anymore, and you have a short duration bonus to strength. To me, this is an augment to your stats, not the use of a magic item to attack with. Lol. This i...

Re: Thunderstomp Question

I just coul'd not find anything stating that spells or their effects would be taken as special rules. So what are they? Nothing? Spells are spells and spell effects are called spell effects. What about to try to read whole discussion above your post? And what about to check the page reference given...

Re: In what order?

I can give you the answer used for ETC. All the attacks happens at the some time. So 1st - both attacks, and deals wounds. 2nd - you heal yourself.
So you take wounds and IF you do not die, you heal up again.

I didn't like having to rely on having to have multiple spells go off every round because it doesn't happen. Yea, and here is the difference clearly. I try to NEVER depend on the spells. IN about 90 % places where WFB is played this is illegal. EG style makes you ignore the armor/weapon effects unless they are magical, in which case you ignore EG rule.
