I guess automatic rally on fire and flee can make a big difference, compared to a failed test on deepwood scouts. Other than that it seems their only strength is shooting targets in cover. Not great, waystalker is LD8 so there is no benefit and only the extra cost if you lose him. Failing a terror test almost cost me dearly in the tournament, but I don't remember if LD9 or even LD10 would have helped. Can't remember the roll. I liked them in 9th age with vanguard, +1 attack on charge and S5 on charge. They were like wild riders sacrificing damage for even greater mobility and some survivability. Really good for getting around the enemy and dealing with tough threats with few wounds like chariots and of course warmachines...

I have tried a unit of 10 hagbane riders with ignore cover banner. I guess true flight and razor banner could be a useful combo too. Nice spot. But it doesn't change the rule about only shooting once per phase though. Unless there is another exception hidden somewhere..... Edit: I suppose if a spell gets dispelled , then it wasn't really shot/fired but only attempted? So having multiple magic missiles, vortex and shooting weapons...
