You can file down greenstuff, but you have to be very careful, as you might take too much of it off or loosen its hold on the metal.

the cloak of the glade guard that you showed the upclose picture of has an odd hard edge (kind of looks like a corner) where the greenstuff meets plastic that you might want to clean up, but otherwise very good.

Woodland scenics realistic water/water effects, led it solidify a bit, then take a straw and blow some bubbles maybe?

As someone said the colors you chose happened to be complimentary colors, so your scheme isnt really an odd one, its really a natural one that always works.

Yeah I didnt actually paint it (hence the line " I actually have to paint something now), twas all done in photoshop.

As for the blades being silver, I was thinking maybe a bluish/pupleish silver, to give it a sort of alien feel. Not sure though.
