Re: question about combat reform, 90° turn?
To go back to the original post. Because the WE are already in CC with the PG they can only choose to 'hold' against the archers charge, meaning they stay facing the PG. The archers charge into the flank and because the WE are engaged on two sides they are not allowed to reform

That sounds right to me, any round that they don't charge they have 2 attacks at strength 4, when they charge they have 1 s5 attack

Re: First Army List With Wood Elves
There's no point taking a Waywatcher Highborn with the Bow of Loren as you will not be able to use Lethal Shot. You will just be paying 45pts for an additional -1 to be hit by shooting attacks.

Re: Dryads keep skirimishing but gain hatred and stubborn
I think the hatred rule would be a good addition as dryads hate anything that isn't part of the forest or would harm the forest. They could gain hatred when within 6" a forest (or something similar) to represent their fierce loyalty to protect them.

Re: IoB Griffon to Eagle Noble
I don't know if you've seen the war eagles GW have? they look interesting but I don't know about their size. Or have you considered doing a small conversion of a great eagle (or hobbit eagle) by giving it some warhawk type masking or other small pieces of armour? That would set it apart from the hob...

I like the interesting colours you have on the models in those pics. Green can get a bit dull so adding other colours is refreshing, especially bright ones that really stand out.

Re: Make way...to the side???
I think if he wanted to move his mage he would have to do a combat reform and he would be allowed to put his wizard at the side. He wouldn't just be allowed to move around as he pleases because he in combat, and if he was already in the front rank he wouldn't be able to make a Make Way move.

He probably felt how woodies do when they get smashed in the face during cc. Everyone feels great when they're winning, he probably expected to get into cc and beat you to a pulp and win and he would've felt wonderful.

Re: My Swamp Elves
Excellent work on both the dryads and glade guard.
Have you considered using some moss (the real stuff) to create a more swampy effect? It would make sense for swamp dwellers to use mossy stuff to create camouflage for their cloaks or just for the base if you don't want to risk your models.

Re: All around Army list 800 pts
Is it wise taking a highborn in such a low point list? wouldn't a noble be better? For an 800pt list your HB is too high in pts and so would a lvl4 beastweaver. How about a wild rider noble with dawnspear for 157? you could add something else. You could take an eternal noble for 80pts just to put in...

I know you what you mean about the command models. When I was first learning about playing warhammer I thought standard bearers, musicians and champions were pretty pointless. I never really knew the value that a standard bearer or a musician has.

Re: what was YOUR first army list?
That is a great tip for beginners, thank you! So a Treeman for example would be overpriced in a 1000 - 1500 pts list, or even illegal in 1000 pts? A treeman would be illegal in 1000pts as its over the allowance by 35pts. You could just fit one in a 1150pts match (just). I wouldn't outright say they...

Re: what was YOUR first army list?
Because 140pts on 3 warhawks (with champ) in a 500 point list is a complete waste. Instead you could have a unit of 11 dryads or glade guard for 132 pts and they would be a lot more useful. There wasn't really any problems with the dryads or glade guard but my noble was a little under-protected. The...

Mine was GG, Dryads, Warhawks, Noble for 500pt list, not sure if there was much else. Honestly it was crap but now I have a better understanding of how to form an army.

Re: Fluffy but Competitive?
Some people would tell you to ditch the warhawks (and the champ) and I get their reasoning. For almost the same points you could have a unit of 12 dryads or glade guard (both 144 points) but I like warhawks and think they could be used well. I would ditch the branch nymphs because a 12 point upgrade...

Re: Rank Bonuses
The first rank doesn't count for rank bonuses. The BRB pg52 Extra Ranks says that you get +1 for every extra of 5 or more models behind the fighting rank To Q2 I would say no based on my response to Q1, basically 1 rank doesn't count you need extra ranks. Q3 answer- If you had ranks with your wild r...

This is my scratch built treeman. He's actually a bit shorter than a GW treeman but he is made entirely from greenstuff. I also did a sketch before making it. I created the legs, body and branch limbs separately, put them together then added details afterwards. The legs were actually made onto the b...

How about Wind/Air Elves? You could add white/very light green 'swooshes' of air around your elves and you could make them look like ninjas. Plays well to the longbow and to the aviation aspect and the stark contrast between black and white always looks awesome. Obviously you can also add flashes of...

I like that Naggie, the black and white, the backwards F and the little flame in middle makes it a really good logo IMO. Plus the font of the Fs looks slightly medieval to me.
