Re: AoS Strategy: Charge and Flee (sacrifice tactic)
NN, I'm still not entirely clear on how your vampire count buddy managed to pull of a charge distance of [16]", even if it was by "bouncing" off your dryad unit. He rolled an 11, needed 8 I think. He charged most of his Crypt Horrors into combat with my dryads, but moved a few within...

Re: AoS Strategy: Charge and Flee (sacrifice tactic)
NN, I'm still not entirely clear on how your vampire count buddy managed to pull of a charge distance of 12", even if it was by "bouncing" off your dryad unit. The rules do allow you to simply "charge" and then roll to see how far you can go before declaring a target. Are yo...

Re: Stubborn Treekin
In my experience the few times I've run them, they are like one of those star-shaped screw drivers from your toolbox. Useless for some things, but the perfect solution to other problems. I've had great success running them in a list with drycha, as her ability to drop them in any facing in any fores...

Re: Advanced Tactica: WoC
It's been my experience that in order to stand a chance, a list needs to perform well in at least 2 of the 4 phases. Movement, shooting, magic and combat. Looking at the WoC list, it's pretty evident that it will do well in the combat phase, But as for the other phases, it's not so clear. In the mag...

Re: Advanced Tactica: WoC
I don't have any specific plans to use this list. It's more theory crafting in response to the OP's post regarding a particular WoC list. But i can tell you, i would use this list in a heartbeat. It meshes very well with my play style and I've played variations on this list plenty of times. Again, I...

Re: Advanced Tactica: WoC
It kinda revolves around the opponent not dispelling Banishment though.. how are you going to make sure that happens? 6-dicing seems to have a pretty high risk for getting IF. Maybe you should get some protection against IF on the one who is going to cast banishment. (earthing rod) Not necessarily....

Re: Advanced Tactica: WoC
Lol this list is cheesy? I wouldn't exactly call his moderate, lol. This list will wreck his face. I'm pretty familiar with a list like this but it's not as tough as it looks. Generally speaking, this list is very durable in combat. There is nothing we can bring that can face that block. WoC do clos...

Re: Advanced Tactica: WoC
So, generally speaking I don't like the tournament format. I don't find the "build one list to fight 9 different opponents" approach to playing is a good indication of skill. Simply because no self respecting wood elf would leave Athel Loren with the intention on standing around with Empir...

Re: spellsinger conversion
Thanks guys! I loe the littith model as well, and it pained me a bit to cut her up. thankfully i have two, and this was was used because it had a face defect (finecast bubble removed part of her chin). Well, that and my dog literal bit it in two. So I was really only cutting off the led rover stumps...

Re: spellsinger conversion
Thanks mate! I think you're right. I don't want to get too carried away with the doodads and lose the character of the models. So I've finished the sculpt for the staff. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/11/0157790a037c0b5bcd6698d6706d033c.jpg And I'm going to get stuck in on the painting. My pla...

Re: Is a BSB really that important?
I think, like everything else, it depends a lot on your list and play style. I rarely run with a BSB, even when I play WoC or LoC. I find that because we (Wood elves) tend to have excellent leadership as it is, and most of the time if i'm putting units in CC, it's because I expect them to win. If a ...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
calling someone sad, that's attacking them. There is no irony in what he's saying and I agree with his point; I think everyone should calm down about the whole thing, I just don't see it as a pretext to break civility. And if anyone on Asrai thinks people are whining, go check out the End Times thr...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
Absolute nonsense, there was nothing valid or questioning about your statement; you saw a pretext to be a prick and you took it. You may as well have used the colour of his skin or his nationality, it's no less childish than what you did and no more justified. And no, not giving a new edition a cha...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
Unfortunatly after the end of times campaign there will be a 9th edition rulebook. And more unfortunatly there will be great changes. 1. The number of armies will be reduced massivly. 2. The rules in BRB will be changed to be a little more like 40k 3. Most of the figures will be changed. I base thi...

You could make a great treeman if you mix in some branches from the citadel woods kit.

Re: spellsinger conversion
So, Here is where I am so far. I've clipped of the tail and fashioned a more "bushy" tail from a spare sisters hair. I've also bulked up the unicorns hair a bit and also permanently glued the unicorns horn in, originally I had planned to keep it removable. In the end however, I though that...

spellsinger conversion
Hi all! So I've find a posted a few of my WE scratch builds (my treekin and my treeman) but I've never actually done a scratch build/ conversion while documenting the process. So this is my shot at doing so. I'll be looking for suggestions so feel free to offer advice along the way. Ahem. Firstly I ...

Re: Magic Resistance- how vital
IMHO, MR is an undervalued addition to most lists. Especially with the prevalence of DD and MM flying about. A sister bus is pretty much a given, since you'll probably building you spell casting char with Book of Ashur which pretty much precludes taking the 4++. (besides, on a unit that mobile, if y...

Re: Treekin Alternative Ideas
I built these (and the treeman) from the citadel wood set. I scratch sculpted the heads, but it would work just fien without heads. The old fluff describes treekin as piles of dead wood temporarily brought to life by forest spirits. Nothing wrong with a bunch of dead branches stuck together into a h...
