10mm WE
Howdy, as my 28mm collection has increased and I've become a bit better at sculpting I've changed tack to 10mm. Easier to keep saving space plus there's rules out there that I'd favour over AoS (war master, mayhem, hott). I've ordered some cobblestone stuff to pick up at salute this year and started...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?
Seems it wasn't just the old warhammer world that got fractured during the End Times and now the community has splintered into AoS, 8th or KoW. My interest has diminished a lot as I've invested in the warhammer world and system since 1985. Not just money but in the idea of the warhammer world. To me...

Making your own models
Howdy I was thinking to start something new and looking too Tzeentch as something that offered a fair bit of scope. With any army I start now I try to sculpt some of the models myself. I'm looking for any Tzeentch models which people have scratch built, particularly horrors, that I might have missed...

Re: New to the Hobby
It can be pretty boring painting. I've not the patience either so DO be pleased with yourself. There's a ton of stuff up on you tube to help with painting technique. If you want to get playing, paint the basics. I've revisited some of the models I own about 3/4 times as my painting improved. There's...

Re: 9th Age; Background and Theme
The adjectives to date pretty much cover things. On the special characters front I've always enjoyed the fluff behind Scarloc as his regiment contained a lot of character and also alluded to being part of the wider world. The Sisters were always interesting as well. Great to have a choice of mounts....

Re: Size of GW wood
I don't play much and I'm not part of a gaming group so access to the real deal in limited. Thanks for dimensions. Just what I was after. I've got a fair bit of mdf and other board in the shed after a furniture making project which scaled up quite considerably. I'll probably try for removable trees ...

Size of GW wood
Apologies if it's already on here some where but I'm after the dimensions of the std GW wood. They're decent enough but a touch on the expensive side at £54 for 3. Be nice if there was a template for the base size. Or am I just being too cheap as the GW woods are great and well worth dipping into yo...

Re: Mounted Spellweaver project (help)
If you've got a box of wild riders/sisters then you should have some decent options for torsos. there's enough bits there to make some thing decent. Glade rider legs should be ok.

I'll never be able to paint that neatly. Envious as a bastard on father's day. Lovely details. Only criticism - don't overcook conversions. It's easy to get carried away and add too much.

Re: Games Workshop Store:
I have had enormous mileage out of the dryad kit. Love it. Hopefully when repackaged you'll still get lots of extra bits. You don't have to be a master modeller to get a few more out of the kit and extra bits go toward a branchwraith. I've used the arms as fingers on scratch built tree kin as well. ...

Check your plastic recycling before you pay any money. Drink bottles, ice cream container lids etc can be what you need. For slightly thicker I have an endless supply of contact lenses solution containers.

Re: Yar!! Here be spoilers!!!
I think you need to do something drastic sometimes to get a fresh start. First edition warhammer came from role play, you used your characters as heroes. Second edition included a scenario, The Magnificent Sven, which was a skirmish game using cardboard figures which were included. Seems like they f...

Re: New Warhawk Riders
They must be releasing new models. The current ones I've always struggled with as it looks like a bloke standing on a chicken. Even if you use a great eagle rather than the warhawk model it takes a leap of faith to see it flying.

Re: Advice sought on making a Treeman Ancient
There's also brass bits that you can get from some hobby websites. If you have a trawl for etched brass leaves you'll probably find something suitable. Green stuff leaves are tricky to get looking right and take ages to do.

Re: Sprite models
Just an update on this. I emailed the good folk at Eureka as they were over for Salute. They put a mixed bag of woodland critters together for me and bought them over which saved postage and meant I didn't have loads of any one thing - thanks Nic. I haven't got these painted up and on the Treemen ye...

Re: Skarloc and Mixed regiment rules
That's my thinking. The margins between the best and the worst archers in WHFB aren't that great. WE get some advantages at the moment but being able to shoot into combat would automatically make an impact within the WE army. It would change the way you play WE as you would WANT to have some units i...

Re: Skarloc and Mixed regiment rules
Ok so mixing in the wardancers with GG didn't stir any debate. How about GG being able to shoot into combat? Or being able to equip GG units with arcane bodkins or arrows made of living wood which split into two or ignore armour -one use only.

Skarloc and Mixed regiment rules
The WE are always going to be a bit average when it comes to surviving close combat, one one thing they had in the old Skarloc regiment is a war dancer in the front row. Would it be worth making this possible for all GG/Scouts regiments? I can understand the frustration of others chasing WE around t...

Is there anyone on this forum who lives in Melbourne? I want the Eureka minis but buying in the UK is £40 for 3 packs seems a bit steep and was wondering if there's someone there who stocks them. Would be interested in any miniatures shops they have in the city as we're likely to be there for a day....

Re: New Unit Concepts (Want Input)
Basilisk sounds nice. Would be a great model to sculpt as well and fits in with the something from deep in the woods feel. Something medium in size but nasty. Does multiple wounds with no armour save etc. One thing that I didn't see in the thread, forgive me if it is there, is having magical arrows ...

Has anyone seen the Art Master centaurs? They look like they might be handy as substitute treekin or decent unit fillers if you're planning big units.

Re: Help a newbie general.
Run away. It sounds rubbish but if there isn't at least one instance of you frustrating your opposition because you won't stand and fight like a 'proper' army then you're probably putting yourself at a disadvantage. Use the woods, for cover, to retreat through, move in front of their units, troop tr...
