Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?
I still play 8the Ed and might give 9the age a go... But there are so many good games out now and AOS isn't one of them. So whfb gets played a bit less often and I blog a lot less often. GW [censored] up mightily with AOS. I understand they needed to fix a range of problems, but I think they failed ...

Neutral, self-interested, earthy (I.e. Not ethereal), fickle, ruthless.
Drychia or whatever her name is, and Ariel.
Need to reintroduce move and shoot without penalty. Above all else wood elves need to be fluid and mobile... Otherwise they're just high elves without armour.

Lol. I would have loved to get all the charges in... Saves on impact hits. I had no other targets when I fired at the skinks. Everything else was in melee. I knew better. I really did. But an unused cannon is a terrible waste.

Re: 2500 pt WE army
That's one hell of an entertaining list. I suspect it will be a glass cannon. Anything it hits will be hurt, but very little staying power. I'd like to see a battle report of this thing in action.

Thanks for the feedback. I will see what I can do for clarity. Usually these report rely on photos and notes taken in the heat of battle... And while enjoying a few ales, so a few events may get lost in the fray. Some structure in the writing may assist.

Ok, so it's not Wood Elves, but it's a while since I posted a bat rep, and feel the need to share some 8th edition rank and file carnage. I hope you like it.

After the first couple of rounds i had a go with tree wack, but naturally the initiative 2 beast of nugle passed the test... In hindsight I should have been wacking away from the start... But it had been a long time between games

First bat rep in a while. Lots of pics. Some of them nasty
After a holiday hiatus, Paladin and I got in a game. The idea was this would be a practice game for an upcoming tournament, in order to road test our army lists.

Re: 1000 points New Player
The model options are ok to start you off. Level 2 in a 1000 pt list is fine. dreads are not as good as they used to be but won't panic and make a good counter charge unit. Maximum archers is a good idea and do use magic arrows. I use poison arrows as standard as they're great against war machines a...

Looks like a hard hitting list. You will hsve to do a lot of avoidance as you have few rank and file melee units.

Re: 1000 points of the worst idea ever?
Could work... but u would b better off with a few less wardancers and take a proper combat character to lead the eternal guard... i think drychia will get wiped out if she is in a small unit of dryads and is no good running solo. Need resilience for your general in combat. Otherwise, for a 1000 poin...

Tournament battle(s) report - lots of pics
Hi folks,
I finally managed to get a few games in with the woodies at a tournament at my local games club. Took lots of pics. The woodies performed better than I had expected.

Re: Waystalker opinions after a GT
I took a way stalker to a small tournament on the weekend. It was a waste of points. Better to take a normal character with the same bow. Cant snipe but will still achieve more.

Re: How to handle Dwarves?
Loose the shadow dancer and take more gg with hagbane. Works very well against war machines. Once you have the cannon and copter killed u can oyt maneuvre the rest and gang up on 1 victim at a time. Just shoot the hell out of the cannon first... and dont let his line box you in a corner or anything....
