Re: What the hell happened?

Turn order is randomized with a dice roll, so players can take two turns in a row. Magic is streamlined and the game doesn't contain any nuke spells anymore. Stats are hard and streamlined, your ability to hit and wound will always be the same regardless of what you target, damage comes after the t...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?

Well the game is well and truly dead in my area. No one plays fantasy at all anymore and people barely play age of sigmar, not that I want to play it anyway. With the website going down in a few months I really feel like this is goodbye to all of you. The game was fantastic while it lasted and wood ...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?

AoS has definitely killed it for me. No one plays 8th anymore and AoS is just a weaker version of 40k which I already play. I would sell my army but no one is even buying anymore so its pointless anyway.

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online

Everyone seems excited at my local store but I just can't get onboard with this new edition. Everyone just cares they can play their old armies but for me I care about the gameplay. There is no more tactical choice it's just run at the enemy. I feel like the game would be just the same as if you fli...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations

The removal of the rules that made fantasy so different from 40k will for me most likely be the end of my fantasy gaming. I will happily play 6-8th ed fantasy if any of my friends want to, but with the game now being skirmish there is almost no reason to play fantasy over 40k. I am really sad. The n...

Re: Tips and Tricks for Painting Rune Stones?

Pick the colour you want I usually use blue and then paint the lightest blue in the recess and work your way out getting darker. Then paint a light blue edge highlight on areas where the light would reflect. For example the edge of the root where light would reflect onto. It's a bit hard to explain,...

Re: Preparations against DE

Q's 1. I'm wondering wether I should get 2 waystalkers + BoL (200 points) and what I should drop for that. His sorc is a nice target (till now no wardsaves I think) but a Pegasus master + cloak.. well not so much though every wound I do get is nice ofcourse. I could drop a few warhawks or the lvl 2...

Re: Flaming Sword of Ruin

Flaming sword of Ruin is pretty much the best spell in lore of fire followed by fireball. I have been running a fire mage with my empire army and a fellow wood elf player in store saw how good flaming sword can be. He now always runs a lvl 2 firemage and a lvl 4 shadowmage in his lists. During a two...

Just whatever you do, dont get a metal model for the base of the conversion. It is seriously too much effort.

Re: 2000 Points against Lizardmen

Cheers for the reply, I'll make sure I give a little batrep after the match to see if all went to plan. One question, how do I employ denied deployment exactly? Im still a relatively new player. Nice little battle report. Sounds like a good game. You had your plan and it worked out well. As to deni...

Re: So many Lores to choose from!

I would recommend either shadow or high magic. Shadow works perfectly with wood elves and High has some nifty spells which are useful in all situations. It just depends really. You can make any lore work for you depending on what you want to do. I have been really partial to lore of fire recently to...

Re: 2000pts Cavalry Army

I like it to be honest. It covers all the things an all cavalry army needs. The only thing I would consider is getting a hail of doom arrow in their somewhere so you can nail a chaff unit first turn. Also Im not sure about the acorn of ages? It is really expensive. Although I guess you want the extr...

Re: Thinning out GW glue?

Personally I wouldnt use GW glue. I have found that it is pretty expensive for being a pretty subpar glue. I usually just buy super glue for all of my models which has been working great for me for the past 10 years. The one time I did use GW glue it refused to stick the model together and was just ...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?

This is really depressing. I love the fantasy world and they have basically destroyed it. The lore and fluff that I love is no longer there so it seems pretty pointless now to keep playing  I am not willing to sink another couple hundred dollars just to play in a realm which has none of the cha...

Re: 2000 Points against Lizardmen

It looks good to be honest. It seems like you have all the bases covered and a good selection. It will just come down to your skill during the game and your opponents army and skill. If possible use a denied deployment to draw away any large blocks of infantry and make sure you target those monsters...

Re: Back from 15 years of gaming absence ^^

Indeed it might be worthwhile waiting until the new rule set comes out but until then dont be afraid to start with the core things such as characters, glade guard, waywatchers or glade riders. Even if they only have an elf specific army you will still be able to run these units (albeit possibly by a...

Where are you posting these items from and also how will you do the payment if not through ebay?

I am keen on a few things but not the entire army. Probably advisable to sell things as units. It is unlikely anyone will buy the army as a whole.

Re: Fire on the March Question

It is simple, marching is moving. Quick to fire do not take the -1 penalty for moving and shooting and I believe they can stand and shoot no matter the situation. You marched but as fast cavalry you can still shoot on the march. You have quick to fire which negates the penalty for moving and shootin...

Re: 2300 point army

Split your glade riders up because they are just going to get destroyed the moment anything looks at them. Also 3 small units are way more mobile than one big block. I would drop the dryads and put the points into more glade guard or maybe some scouts. As they are they will not be able to handle com...

I have found they are great as chaff or redirectors, or extra drops when you deploy. I sometimes take a unit of 3 and occassionally two units of 3. They do very well against chaff units and I generally just run them up the flanks to harass archer units etc. They are nowhere near as good as they used...

Hagbane everywhere! Target the chariot, the hounds and the demonprince
Take lore of metal or lore of light. Banishment with re-rolling wardsaves is pretty awesome. Wardancers arent really that good maybe drop them for more glade guard.
