Re: 9th Entwined Roots Question - Urgent!

Hee there, Not a guru and not entirely sure either, but I think it counts as extra points for the unit getting the buff. If I remember correctly it used to be extra points on the character picking the upgrade. I thought they changed it because it would better reflect the actual points the unit getti...

Re: Paint a basecoat OR prime with a spray...

Hee there, I always spray my models (black) before painting them. Coincidentally, recently I was painting at a friend's, and I forgot my spray, so I decided to basecoat them Chaos Black by hand. Did a few skaven models then. I found that it took WAY longer than I expected to basecoat them manually. ...

Goodbye Asrai.org

I Just read the response from the Ulthuan Admin: As Prince of Spires (Ulthuan head admin if you don't know him) has just pointed out to me, I probably should post with some degree of an update here. As appears to be the wishes of the Asrai staff, I can currently assure Asrai's future for the time be...

Re: 3x5 or 2x7 Wild Rides?

Isjiek, why do you feel that 3x5 is the optimal number? Pls expand. Apologies for the short response, Bill summed it up nicely though. :) More units = More target saturation = More charges. Isjiek: If you are running a larger unit you should only consider one character, a bsb simply for the re-roll...

Re: 3x5 or 2x7 Wild Rides?

Why are you all so fond of characters with wild Riders? They don't add much in terms of combat power or Leadership.

And I'd say 3x5.

Re: Idea for Dryads

Why wouldn't you be able to shoot trough dryads? I thought the 8th edition rules required actual line of sight (as in, if your archer would be able to see the target model, it can see the model, permanent), and that something like dryads would provide Hard Cover (-2) for rolling to hit. Can anyone c...

Note that the new Forest Spirit rule no longer gives a ward to mounts.

Re: Treeman Ancient

I think most of us noticed, though I did not on first check though. I do think it is intended. In the old book Ancients and regular Treemen had more or less the same role, only in different point sections, so you could take more. The Ancient now seems intended as a caster primarily in contrast with ...

I agree with most what has been said. First and foremost, there are a lot of changes. Some for good, some for bad. I really like the new magic that we can use now. I also like that Waywatchers are now really awesome, and that Wild Riders are now worth taking, same for Warhawk Riders. We get to keep ...

Re: Dryads FAQ

Right, but as far as I can tell they don't actually get any bonuses from being in the forest. It's the elves that get special when they are in the woods. You realise how stupid this actually sounds? :') Dryads, creatures of the forest receive no bonusses in forests, only a penalty. I don't see what...

Re: WE 2500 points vs HE

Heey there, For the Eagle, the rulebook states, that the eagle uses 10 as his movement when moving, flying and pursuing (correct me if I'm wrong) So that makes 10 + 2D6 (best 2/3). :) And musicians are really nice. When your opponnent gets closer, and you need to move your archers to keep them in yo...

Re: The Kindred of the Wythel Glades (2000pt Tourney List)

Heey there, The Enchanted Shield costs 10 points for WE, thus, the Dragonhelmet that gives you a 2+ ward as well, is always a better choice. I assume Wild Riders are meant to be be able to break steadfast? In that case, it is really risky to rely on them, because one kill is enough to make them unab...
