Re: Nerfed forest spirits
I have used all the forest spirits. They are fine. Yeah some may see it as nerf but meh. Ppl like to complain. Dryads: i have been playing beastmen for a while now so I see them more as gors than anything else. Similar stat line. Better in every way, unless gors roll double 1's for prinal fury. But ...

Re: Treekin - To take or not to take?
I find them cheap enough to take a 3 man unit in most my games.
Str 4 is lame tho. But still pretty good.
Personally I see them in more of a support role. They work great with riders to crush infantry blocks.
I have had some decent success with treekin and wardancer combo.

Re: Large Targets, True-LoS, Screening, Cover, Obstacles...
Unless I am mistaken. Been out a while, and no book with me. Large targets never get the obscured bonus. And canons are pretty straight forward you place a marker anywhere on the table that you can see. Gets messy with large models and blocks. Then roll. Only things after the bounce hit. And yes a b...

Re: I'm starting to warm up to the Dryads.
Yeah I wouldn't put a weaver in there. At most I would put a branchwraith. You really aim dryads at chaff, those tar pit that you want to avoid. Maraders, slaves, knoblars, goblins, those are the targets. Really anything with low ws, ld and str. These guys are core after all. After using them in my ...

Re: I'm starting to warm up to the Dryads.
Nothing in a game that uses dice is reliable. Your mathhammer however is missing a few things like return strike and fear, because while not always guaranteed it makes a difference when it happens. Like smashing into a skaven rear. EG returb w/shields vs Ws 3 s 3 = 3 W/o shields = 3 EG vs ws 3 s 3 h...

Re: I'm starting to warm up to the Dryads.
I have yet to use the new dryads but they don't seem like trash to me. Truthfully they remind me of Gors more than any other unit. Gors btw are awesome. Dryads should do the same damage as eternal guard, gors and any other str 3 unit with 15 rerollable attacks. The ward save rebuff kinda sucks. But ...

Re: Way Watchers and Stand and Shoot
Our have alway group has always played it that if any unit is in the forest at the end of any movement phase.
We never thought of it the other way.It makes the forest more dangerous, and the game more fun.
It was also because it says any unit. Which we interpreted as mean mine or my opponent's.

Amusher always applies. They must always ambush. No option to opt out. So they always enter via reserve.

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
I never really thought this was a point of contention. Guess I must be naive. But to toss my 2 cents in. The enchanted arrows are obviously not heirlooms, nor are they unique as described in the BRB pg 500 since an multiple models can take them. If they were intended to be consider unique entries i ...

I would smile, shake his hand and say it was nice playing you and pack my stuff up and look for someone else to play with.
If he wants to win that badly let him. There is nothing stopping him from doing that, but there is also not reason why you should play with such a tool.

Why would you shoot WW against big tough thing? they are still only strength 3 thats what poison is for. big tough things. also he wants more close combat and to stray away from shooting it seems. does it have high armour? (I actually do not know) that would be the only real reason I see to put WW ...

Re: Hello - First posted list - CC Heavy
You are playing low points so I would say save the ancient for another time. Just take a normal one instead. For lord take a lvl3 weaver with high magic. You can alway take a lvl1 singer scroll caddie as a beast. You really only need wild form, which you can always opt fore when picking your spells....

you sound like you want a Thebain Phalanx. i used to use something similar in 7th, with some pretty good success, main weakness was powerful magic. there should be an article on this site that examined the Phalanx, which won a tournament ages ago. However, with the Harp going the way of a good many ...

Re: In defence of our book.
From what I've read so far, many people are looking for cost re-calculations for our units, plus a few quick fixes (like true ward saves). I think this is the reason we've had to wait so long for a new book. GW seem to update armies based on what they think would be 'cool' changes to make like fanc...

Should be, but some of the more trustworthy sources are saying it'll be radically different. We'll see. Where are these sources? Warseer? Re: SLAP!
I doubt that GW would put all books into one tome. Not a smart business move, but then again it is GW. I had been wondering if the elf character stat line would change, it looks like it has. Well that is good news for us i suppose, whenever we finally get a update our characters should have the same...

Re: Wood Elves with new HE army book?
Fast cav armies will absolutely run rings around combat armies. However, they also get utterly obliterated by anyone who gives a moment's though to writing a balanced list. As such, they're in a similar vein to the Annyoance mounted Highborn- great in some match-ups, utterly pointless in others. A ...

Does your meta not use chaff or anti chaff? Because with these things in play avoidance and redirection just don't happen as easily as you are implying. What does your meta use to replace MC and is harder to avoid and redirect? Monsters maybe, but WE have problems with those as well. sorry about th...

Re: Wood Elves with new HE army book?
Also there is no army out there that can do a entire cav army like woodies. While, High Elves can't make an all cav army like Wood Elves can , the all cav army they can make is clearly better. It's cheaper, just as fast, harder hitting, more resilient, more flexible, more varied, and better support...
