Good attempt at trying to balance this.
However, bear in mind that the definition of Perfect Balance, is a pregnant hunchback!

Re: Kings of War
Since WHFB is effectively dead, anyone wanting to play anything in a similar vein, will have to look elsewhere. Mantic's launched KoW v2, free basic ruleset http://www.manticgames.com/free-rules.html
Apparently improves on some areas that the original rules were pretty naff.

Re: Games Workshop Store:
Why buy anything new?
Ebay's now awash with everything WHFB. Who cares if they're on square bases? If you do, just use old coins or other round bases from non-GW manufacturers.

Re: 8th Edition vs Tomb Kings, 2000pts, choice of lists
The only Core worth taking with 8th Edition, are Gladeguard. Why bother with any upgrades? 30 points gets you another couple of shots per unit. Trueflight Arrows all the way, Hagbane aren't really worth bothering with, especially against stuff with average T & not much armour. Hitting on 3's is ...

If you've not bought it already (Assuming we're talking about a real copy) you've missed out, sold out.GeoffDiGeoff wrote:I will most definitely be buying this book.
Needless to say, they're now appearing on ebay for silly money, BIN of £15 for the magic cards, muppets bidding £150+ for the book.

Re: End of Times Elven Legions
Horrible, horrible, horrible!
Asrai & Druchii would never, ever ally.
Asrai would never, ever stoop to necromancy.
Just because GW screwed us over big time with our new Army Book, is no reason to ally with filth.

Errr, GW & balance in the same sentence?Brassorbs wrote:It seems that Wood Elves being as specialised as they are, GW are finding it hard o balance them against other armies that have completely different play styles.

Wildriders are Fast Cavalry, Fast Cavalry don't count ranks, thus Fast Cavalry can't break ranks.

Re: What should our new rulebook look like?
Bringing back Animal Handlers & their packs, boars, wild cats & hunting dogs would be a good move. Getting a good balance with existing books would be desirable. On the model front, get rid of that fugly Great Stag and give us something powerful & graceful. A good Unicorn model is desira...

In GW run tournaments and in their shops, then you're not permitted to use non-GW models, in independantly run tournies, it's usually not an issue, if in doubt, ask the organisor - before you turn up!Nuwanda wrote:However, do you know it is possible to take part in tournaments with non-GW models?

Re: Is a treeman made of metal?
Rules & fluff don't always match each other.
It would give all sorts of headaches to have different categories of armour material, you could have arguements that because your Noble has leather armour and a wooden shield, he should thus be immune to the effects of the Lore of Metal.
