Re: 50% Meta
If my magic phases are poor then yes - I would have some problems. But it is very difficult to dispel every casting attempt I make. If I'm really low on dice I sometimes try and cast some of the lower spells with just 1 dice at the end of magic phase. If Im in a forest I only need 3s to cast walk be...

Re: 50% Meta
Loving that all-cav list Disco! I wondered if Protection Counters would let me get away with Giant Blade but I kind of figured a 5+ Ward would be needed instead of HoD! Agreed and my former lists had the glade lord sporting an armour of fortune beside his giant blade. The BSB had the HoDA. Its just...

Re: 50% Meta
I have played some games against the new character strong armies with my sister bunker avoidance list. I have yet to loose a game, but I havent won big either. The army is almost all mounted and rely on speed and mobility: Lvl 4, high, steed, MR 2, scroll Glade Lord, steed, giant blade, HoDA, charme...

Really love the spellweaver on unicorn concept! Brillant! Im going to try her out for a 6-game tournament using ETC-rules next weekend - can't wait! :D Do one of your WR-units have the flaming banner? As I see it the only flaming you have in your units is the starfire shaft from your bsb. I played a...

Re: ETC Draft 3.5
Agreed that the loss of the 8 lores is a step down for the WE. The awesome lvl 1 metal mage is back in the closet again. With the 2700 pts I decided to make the fastest WE army I could, maxing out on flyers and fast cav: I have played one game with it thus far against a OnG troll-based army+warmachi...

Re: Against HE help needed asap!
Ive found out that eagle-rider spamming works wonders against HE (and a lot of other opponents as well). Here is the 4 eagle riders I use atm: Highborn on Eagle: Great weapon, Light armour, shield Annoyance of netlings, featherfoe torc, Dragonhelm, stone of crystal mere Noble on Eagle: Great weapon,...

Re: ETC 2014 List
Hi! :) I have been playing some games with the new ETC rules and I absolutely love the changes they made! In my opinion there is one unit that have gone from "good" to "absolutely amazing": The wild riders! Wauw these guys just rock! Fast cav, ASF, 5+ ward (4+ vs magic)..! - So I...

Re: elf flyer list
Hey. I have used WE lists with focus on high M for a while now. Its build up around Eagle nobles and Wild Riders. For a tournament in august I ran 3 characters on eagles, 2x7 WR units and 1x8 Glade Rider unit with lvl 4 beast and BSB with HoDA. The setups were: Lord on Eagle, GW, LA, SoCM, Annoyance...

Re: ETC 2014 1st draft
This is so promising!
Wild Riders are crazy good now - ASF and real 5+ ward (4+ ward vs magic).
I think im going to run 3x7 WR and a WR highborn with the dawnspear backed up by shadow magic (miasma and dawnspear -> the wild riders are only hit on 6s)

Re: eagle mounted highborn
For a tournament this past weekend I used a highborn with the following setup: Highborn, Great Eagle, spear, light armour: Charmed shield Annoyance of netlings Featherfoe Torc Stone of Crystal Mere. Obviously this guy is designed to tank those flying characters out there (greater daemons, daemon pri...

Re: Opinions on the best Noble/Highborn builds.
Lately I have been toying around with a list with 4 Eagle characters (3 nobles and a highborn) with the following builds: *all the games I play are with closed lists btw. Highborn, GE, shield Armour of destiny, Dawnstone, Callach's claw/sword of might With a 3+ rerollable AS and 4+ WS I feel pretty ...

Re: The Ultimate War-machine/Character hunter.(strength 9 el
I had a fair amount of succes with an alter noble carrying the following: Rageth's wilfire blades, Pot. of strength and helm of the hunt. He is designed to kill the regeneration stuff (HPA, Hydra, Chimaera, Trolls) and with 6 WS7, S7 flaming attacks on the charge he has been doing ok. Of course he n...

Re: Wood Elves Tricknology: A MSU how to guide.
Hey Joey - thank you for this guide, its been a big help for me! So no max number on core choices and ability to make 5 GG units? thanks! Are you reading this as being able to take units of 5 GG? Because it says you can take a maximum of 5 units, not 5 models in each unit. Wow it would be crazy wit...

Re: Wood Elves Tricknology: A MSU how to guide.
Hey Joey - thank you for this guide, its been a big help for me! Im curious, what would your MSU army list look like with the new ETC restrictions? I will just quote the general and the WE restrictions: I. General Restrictions: No Special or Named Characters. Army used can be any of the currently pu...

Re: When presenting army: Do you reveal spites?
Normally I'd say no. But as your meta forces Chaos Gifts/Mutations to be revealed (and I assume VC Powers) then I would definitely say yes as Spites are in the same boat as those. Not sure about Vampires but Chaos have a separate allowance for gifts. Wood Elves use the same points allowance for the...

When presenting army: Do you reveal spites?
Hi all, long time lurker here. At a tournament this past weekend a question came up wether I had to reveal my Annoyance of Netlings or not when I present my army before deployment. The tournament used closed lists and in earlier tournaments with closed lists I have never revealed it. At my meta chao...
