Re: Is this option how to stop Bloodthirster legal?

You'll often find that the counter-argument is to be to reference the Beasts of Chaos FAQ; more specifically, the Rune of the True Beast. Q. Does the Rune of the True Beast affect monstrous characters? (i.e. Treeman Ancients, Greater Daemons, & Shaggoth Champions) A. No, they are characters. Not...

Re: English culture

On the whole, we don't like up-and-rising people acting cool expecting to succeed from our fawning admiration. This is exasperated if they are foreign. Even more so if they are American.

Re: Skaven?

They are a fun army. Of course, most of this joy is derived from the amount of destruction you bring to your own army through your own haphazard magic and nefarious shooting as you bring to your enemy. Be prepared to throw away dozens of slaves a turn; march them mercilessly towards your enemy and c...

Re: New Chaos Rumors

Very interesting. Those new miniatures seem very... Oldschool? They seem to have a style about them which reminds me a lot of older GW miniature lines. I look forward to seeing closer detail shots, or shots of sprues/bitz. Agreed. That seemed to be the direction they took with the Daemons plastics,...

Re: Light Chariots

I think they'd end up to much like HE chariots. They'd need a specia rule to set them aprt as fast and agile. Possibly let them march, but no AS or something like that. Tomb King Light Chariots move like fast cavalry, and coincidentally share the weaknesses similar to that of fast cavalry suffer in...

Re: Light Chariots

Like Tomb King chariots in design, but individual rather than as a unit? I would not be sure how much they would bring to an Asrai list. The Tomb Kings have them as mobile heavy hitters [to make up for the dire 'heavy' cavalry], which Wood Elves have in spades. I could imagine struggling to justify ...

Waywatcher character with Blight of Terrors? Skirmishing Skaven do not benefit from the 'Strength in Numbers' special rule and as such will have a basic leadership of 6 if within range of the Grey Seer. This terrible leadership should be the downfall of at least a few of these skirmishing Jezzail te...

Re: GW back in profit

Well, the most cynical among us could draw the lines of coincidence between the gradual increase in profits and the gradual 'codex creep' we seem to be experiencing. Amazing armies could lead to amazing sales - and the amount of VC, Daemon and Druchii players running around would seem to support that.

GW back in profit

As some of you may know, GW had a bit of a tricky year last year in regards to financial loss. However, as of June 1st GW are back in profit! http://www.sharecast.com/cgi-bin/sharecast/story.cgi?story_id=2244474 As you can read, the profit generated this year still doesn't come near to equalling out...

Re: Warriors of Chaos Items

I think the magic word here is 'wielder' rather than 'sword'. I only have my Vamps book to hand, so I'll use the the Blood Drinker sword as an example. The magic description for the Blood Drinker specifies that it is only wounds caused by the sword that activate it's effects (restoring wounds if you...

Re: Fighting the vampire counts

What I am most nervous about when I am fielding my Counts is that my opponent will focus on destroying one unit for that turn. VC can now raise something back in every unit, but can only summon fresh zombies. So focus on destroying one unit of skeletons/black knights/wraiths/etc for that turn, so th...

It will be interesting to see what the asrai boys make of this. There are members on this site that are far better equipped to say anything about rules interpretation than I am, whether it turns out my thinking was wrong or right.
