Re: Game of Thrones
The HBO series was just what I had hoped for, and I hope everyone here who didn't know what was going to happen (you know what I'm talking about) yelled at the TV. A Dance with Dragons was great, though, well, the ending will make you consider hiring a hitman. Again. I consider it the second best so...

Re: The stigma against fantasy
While stories that have a deeper message are nice and all (Animal Farm and 1984 are two of my favorite books), not everything should have a point in my opinion. One of the things I most hated about English in high school was that EVERYTHING had a point. Somehow. And frankly, not everything does. I j...

Re: The stigma against fantasy
Brent Weeks is my new favorite author (he came out with the start of a new trilogy in August by the way). He has real characters, isn't afraid to hurt them (I was convinced until a certain incident at a certain inn that nothing would happen to Jarl), and manages to pull fantastic plot twists out of ...

Re: The stigma against fantasy
You have to sort the wheat from the chaff with any genre, but I feel there is more chaff to sort through with fantasy and that's why it's dismissed.

Re: Towers of Midnight
You need to read it sooner rather than later so I have someone to talk to about it! My roommate is just starting the series, and it's taking an immense effort of will to not just sit him down for an hour, explain everything up to book 12, and make him read 13 that instant. Also, it might be my new f...

Re: Who's the Best Fiction Author?-September 2010
1) Robert Jordan
2) David Weber
3) Brent Weeks (thanks mainly to one of the very few plot twists in anything that has ever taken me completely and utterly by surprise)
4)Brandon Sanderson
5) Isaac Asimov
Honorable mention to Eddings for the same reason as Draig.

So I need to play my first game of 8th edition. I think I'll be using Empire. Anything from 1k to 1.5k would be fine with me.

TG and CL are both at 9 people, and GC and VL are at 7 and 8 respectively, so I would say you won't have long to wait.

One potential issue, the elf in the middle with the tatoos is from a Dragon Age: Origins wall paper. I'm not sure if that means he's copyrighted or whatever or not. http://na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eagames/bioware/dragonage/assets/media/gallery/wallpapers/downloads/Dalishelf_wallpaper_full_128...

Re: World Cup 2010 - Who's your favourite to win?
Still, as long as GB does anything but tie, and we win against Algeria (which doesn't seem unlikely) we're perfectly fine. As I understand it, since England tied today, all we have to do is defeat Algeria to continue on in the tournament, regardless of the outcome of the England/Slovenia game. Is t...

Re: World Cup 2010 - Who's your favourite to win?
I was raging about the US game earlier. I was very, very mad at the ref. According to the commentators they saw 2 fouls in the scrum both by Slovenia. Their consensus was that we should have been allowed the goal and given a penalty kick, along with possibly a red card. Huge miscall there. Still, as...

Re: Pretty worried about new WHFB rules, looks like a WE beating
A lot of those have been said not to be in 8th. Specifically, from what I've heard: All units move as fastcav - Without the free reform All units charge random distance - It's not entirely random Fighting in two ranks- Basically as spears now, not the full profile for most troops Templates autohitti...

You will be able to use any army you want to. In fact, you wouldn't necessarily have to play games to play in the campaign.
