Looking for the perfect dragon!
I'd really like to paint a dragon for my army, but I cannot find a model I love, and most dragons are too expensive to settle for less than a model you think is amazing. I have found one that would be great, but, at around $100, it's far too expensive for my budget (and possibly too large?)! It's th...

Re: Cherry Blossom Branchwraith
This is amazing! I have been doing a cherry blossom scheme on my army, too (although I've been working on it, off and on, for over a year and have only painted a unit of GG, a unit of wardancers, half a unit of dryads, and 2 sorceresses). It is not near the quality of this, though! I would love to k...

Re: How do you get into the mood? (Painting)
The audiobooks thing is a great idea. Never even crossed my mind, do you guys use one of the internet rental services, netflix for audiobooks kinda thing? I love reading, but with a baby, school, work, warhammer, and xbox I am pretty freaking busy and don't seem to have the desire to read lately. I...

Re: Colour Scheme for Northern Lights Winter Army
AMAZING! Omg, if I could paint with results like that, you'd have a hard time getting me to ever do anything else. And the idea itself is so cool - very original! I can't believe how talented the people on this site are.

Re: How do you get into the mood?
One word: AUDIOBOOKS! Since I started listening to audiobooks, I can paint for hours on end because I'm so into the book. Good thing, since it takes me so long to paint my guys. I put on one of George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire audiobooks, and I am good to go. I've got the Lord of the Rings...

Once I get a few done, I'll try taking some pics. It may be a while, though. I don't have much time to paint, especially with finals/project deadlines coming this week and next.

Re: Cherry Blossom Scheme
I painted my first one yesterday. It took FOREVER, but I am happy with it. For the cloak, I ended up doing a layering of browns, red, pink, and khaki that I am pretty happy with. Hopefully, I will improve upon it as I go. Anyway, my army is now officially started. Yay!

Re: Cherry Blossom Scheme
I have decided that I really want to use this theme for my whole army. I just love it so well, and haven't been able to find anything else I like half so much. The only problem is, I sculpted leaves covering some of my cloaks, so I can't paint trees on all of them - this one unit will have leafy clo...

Oh my goodness, I really, really love it! What paint colors did you use for this? I especially love the branches on the cloaks. I may have to steal this scheme!

Re: Movement trays?
Thanks to both of you. We have some of the standard ones, but for the unusual formations, is there a tutorial anywhere on making them? I know you'd cut out a big rectangle to the measurements you want, but I've seen them with the little sides to keep units from falling off. How would one add those?

Movement trays?
While admiring some of the great armies on here, I noticed that many have movement trays that I have not seen before - for instance, I saw one that holds 5 horses - I've only ever been able to find ones that hold 4. And I've seen trays that hold a long line of foot soldiers, too. Where can one find ...

Hmmm ... You could also consider this one - if you can get it ... http://www.fantasyladen.de/MEO/MEO1052.jpg I love that mini! Where is she from? To the OP, I don't know if you've found your ideal mini yet, but how about this one? https://www.thunderboltmountain.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&...

Some tips for sculpting? Flowers for dryads? Faerie theme?
I've never messed with the green stuff, but I hope to do a few conversions and even have some things in my head that I can't match up with models, and would eventually like to try my own. Everyone here makes it look so easy, but I know it can't be - I've dabbled a little in sculpting large things an...

Re: How big are the eagles and the warhawks?
Oh, I just meant that I didn't want to use a model that's much smaller than the original to replace it, ya know what I mean? I assumed that the eagle was larger than the warhawks, and I'd rather let it be my eagle since I only have one. I don't think the dragon's wingspan is quite 4" but I'll s...

How big are the eagles and the warhawks?
I found a model I love, and I'm thinking about getting it to use for my army, but I really don't know what to use it for. It's a dragon, but it's only about 2" tall, so I'm pretty sure it's too small to use as an actual dragon (I haven't seen the model in real life, but seeing it compared to th...

Re: New to Warhammer and this site
Yea, he plays Dark Elves and was doing a Slaneesh themed army at one point, but he decided he wasn't happy with his scheme and repainted all his models. That's the only way I even know of the existence of Slaneesh.

Re: Zardan's Army Blog! (Greenstuff Unicorn Update!!)
Coming from someone who is not a sculptor, but has worked with and drawn many horses, I agree that the back legs are too thin, and I'd also add that the hindquarter region is a little too short. But it's a beautiful figure; I love it and I think it's amazing (particularly for a first time). Also, un...

Great painting! I love that you put "woad" on one; I'd thought of doing that but didn't know whether it would look good. Now I see it does! And your colors are great. I can't wait to see more of your army.

Thanks! Pink is my favorite color, so I think it's a great skin. I, um, don't really know too much about Slaanesh, isn't it a hedonistic cult?Hyarion wrote:Welcome to the site!

Re: New to Warhammer and this site
We hate SKAVEN! :D Skaven, the rat guys? Are those their colors? I never noticed. I just like blues and greens. Lots of brown bores me, and I didn't have the skills to make the white/blue winter theme look nice. I'm not a very good painter, having just started that, too. And the green is all really...
