Re: Malekith's Armour of Midnight
Things that remove from the game without inflicting a wound (like Giant's attack) do bypass this Armour. Ward save is taken only against a successful wound and he is immune only to further damage from attacks that multiply that wound they already inflicted. So, no wound - no either effect from the a...

Re: Vamp Q about allocating CR Wounds
So, in this case, each and every one of them suffers 3 wounds. Got it. What happens in case of odd # of wounds - for example, distributing 7 wounds between 2 characters - would the VC player have an option of choosing where to allocate that single odd wound or would it be randomized? Your talking a...

Vamp Q about allocating CR Wounds
This is the situation: an undead unit containing 3 characters (one lord (3 Wounds) and 2 hero-level Vamps (2 Wounds each)) loses a combat by, let's say 20. This is enough to wipe the entire R'nF unit and there are 9 wounds left to allocate between the remaining characters. So, my question is, what a...

In casual games it is very much acceptable, especially if you are still tweaking and testing your list. In tournaments it is very much forbidden.

Re: The sad truth about our magic items.
It's a bit flawed comparison since you didn't take into account those special non-items, like Spites, since they are very much like items in most regards. And there you'd find several more 'must-have' items, like Annoyance, Cluster or Peagent. Besides, only 8 good items? Could you, at least for Asra...

What? Isn't it that the unit flees from the source of Panic, ie from the unit that inflicted that wound that pushed it beyond a 25% threshold, regardless of how many wounds did previous unit(s) inflict?unicorn wrote: Yes. If we talk about failed panic because of the 25 % + losses.

Re: 2250 for an ETC rules event
Looks pretty good, but I'd reduce your caddy to Lv1 Well, there are two mages, so clearly he's going to try and do something in the magic phase with his 6 PD and 2 bounds ;) and buy your BSB a horse. Mounting him means he's unable to join Wardancers. He also gets no real benefit, since he's also un...

Re: A quick Treesinging question!!!
Touching something isn't the same as being in something. For an easy proof, try that with your finger and a wall .
Also, I'll move this to Rules.
EDIT: and yes, as previously mentioned by Tethlis, your forest does not need to stop 1'' away from the enemy unit, it stops only upon contact.

Good point! How do you usually kit him out? Blades of Loec is mainstay, and annoyance too! What to choose for further protection? Amber pendant? Stone of crystal mere? Amaranthine Brooch? Blades, Annoyance and Pendant. No point in buying any kind of Ward when you have access to it via dances, shoul...

Re: Shooting agaisnt skaven question
Yes, by RAW you are right, but I must say I truly hate that rule, purely because of so many magic items that provide benefits (like Regeneration) to model rather than bearer. Can you, please, give me few examplels of such items? Besides empire Jade amulet (where I believe it is an intent), I am not...

Re: Shooting agaisnt skaven question
But with Talon, it is completely different story... Its rules clearly states that "wielder of this longbow can target any model it can see" while BRB, page 59... "The monster and its rider count as a single model in the some way as cavalry model... BRB, page 64... "Character can...

Re: Shooting agaisnt skaven question
but you can not target character upon a chariot or so. Sure you can - a chariot is a character's mount, just like a Dragon would be. As long as they have separate profiles, they are legal targets. Hech, you can shoot either a character or a chariot, should you wish to... However, shooting a non-cha...

Re: Which Lord choice to take for tourney?
This guy will get slaughtered by a bloodhirster Why would he be? Thirster is hitting on 6's, then has to wound and then has to go through a 4+ Ward save. At the same time, you just might sneak in an odd wound or so and you are (or should be) backed up by outnumbering and a Warbanner, for a +3 stati...

Re: Which Lord choice to take for tourney?
I always advocate using Wild Rider Lord as IMO this guy is capable of dealing with threats the rest of the army (and most of the other Lord choices) aren't - Fear-causing killy fast characters, like Bloodthirsters. My proposed setup: KB Lance, Annoyance, AotFey - 303 pts of pure love.

I've just checked both erratas, neither of them changes anything on that page...If they wipe out a Hated enemy in the turn they have charged, they will always overrun.

Re: 2250 Wood Elves; ETC restrictions
I shall play around with points after work and see what I can do with a Lord. The one WR setup i like is the following: WR Lord, SoTwilight, AoNetlings, AotFey, Steed =303 pts. He has M9/18, is ItP (which I like, since it minimizes the impact of luck and makes your guy immune to autobreaks - and mo...

I Going back to the Wild Rider Lord; what could I drop to get him? One GR unit. And WR hero, obviously... GRs are very nice, but they tend to be collateral casualties against tough armies, as they will deal with them while they set up (first two turns), and killing them isn't such a big deal but th...

Re: 2250 Wood Elves; ETC restrictions
There is nothing really wrong with this list (indeed, it is a very nice list), but having participated twice on ETC, I can tell you that those other lists are usually made as tough as comp allows it. I feel that your list isn't cutthroat enough, that you can+t deal with some usual threats, like Drag...

Re: DE 2500 GW tournament list
However I do like the Ring of Darkness giving the Dragon some more protection but it's 40 pts so something else would have to go. I will think about that. Nothing has to go - AoServitude (35)+CDeath (25)+RoDarkness (40)=100 pts total. And you get not to use Pendant.. but this is a tournament game a...
