Re: Treefolk and Magic Banners
I just got two games of 9th, and I haven't tried the Treekin yet, but three ranks of attacs might be a bit powerfull. I could still picture myself using Treefolk BSB instead of some elf that has to be hiden behind the lines with the Doom Arrow. I used to enjoy playing with with forest spirits backed...

Re: 9th age Woodies are out! Lets discuss!
I like the 0.9 draft. Forest Spirits got better, and seem posible to field again. The combined force of Elves and Spirits is a important part of the army's identety in my opinion. Wood Elves has been like that for 20 years. And archery is still quite good. In sum, I think the book is less bland than...

Re: [5th Edition] Beating Chaos Knights?
Ohh, I remember my friends unit of 10 Chaos Knights with a lord and the Banner of Rage moping up everything. 4 attacks per knight and 10 from the lord. I haven't played 5th in 15 years, but I have been thikning about giving it a try as I got some friends who might be up for it. Handeling the dreaded...

Thanks for sharing your insight. Magic can be a huge waste of points if not planned and played well. I tried High&Shadow yesterday. While needing practise with the lores, I do like the combination so far.

What are your reasoning behind High+Shadow? I am torn between Heavens, Shadow and maybe Death to go with High Magic.

Nice work! I like the colours and brushwork. My colourscheme is written in paint and blood, but you gave me some ideas of how to aply it to the WWR models.

Re: 2000 pts army list against High Elves (old 7th ed rulebo
Ahh, this awakes some nostalgia. At this time the army had much better internal balance between the elves and the spirits of Athel Lorren. I also managed to win 66% of my games instead of 20% :paranoid: Except the characters and the Eternal Guard, the list looks familiar:) I remember surviving bring...

I also bought two boxes of those, and starting to put them together this evening I noticed that they are fragile. I also find the plastic very soft. I haven't bought and asembled any plastic kit released later than the ones WE got with the previus book I believe. Is this softness normal for GW plast...

You ask some interesting questions. But those drums... There is not a lot of reports with Wood Elves online, but how about runing the same questions on this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7B7UARh-J8&list=UUrslxUhpok3W0GnCIolNFpw&feature=share&index=3 Not recorded as fast paced as O...

Re: Experiences with non-GW paints?
I think the current paint pots GW is using is reason enough for a boycott. I really like the Coat d'Arms range. This is actually more or less the same paint Citadel/GW used to sell with their label on it up to around 1997 or so. It's the quality I remember from the early days in the hobby. It is als...

Re: 2400 HE versus NEW Dwarves
I opted for the video and think it was a great debute! The report had nice photos and was told well spoken at a steady pace. I liked how you commented errors, thoughts and choices made during the battle. The soundquality is better than average, but there is some hum in the background. It's better on...

Re: Deployment tactics
I agree that deployment depends on the two armies and the terrain on the table. But I think there is value in thinking about deplyment in advance and have some kind of plan according to your own army. I have found it better to spead out than castle up in a corner. I have limited experience with Wood...

Re: The "best" "current" edition
I have been playing since 5th editon, but had a break during most of 6th edition. My favorite edition yet was the 7th. That was the edition I really started to get a grip on things and undestand the game. From the High Elves book and onwards, I feel something whent wrong though. Some of the new armi...

Re: euro 2014 draft 2
Did you spot some overall shift in the power balance or something like that? I don't have knowlege about every single army, but looking at WE only, I think it is quite the opposite.. First draft: - Wood Elves (2600) • Glade Guard models (excluding scouts), max 70 • Points achieved against Wood Elves...

"She then pulls out her longbow.."
Nice report.
I was going to ask how you found the Razoe Standard, but I guess it's hard to tell. I have eyed that item myself, but maybe on a unit of 8-10. Not sure if that would have helped in your situation.. They would still be pretty fragile.

The Wood Elves way of life give them another kind of ASF: Allways Stoned Fighting
This means no rerols, and no quick striking. In trade for this, the elven hippies of the forrest are able to get in contact with the small and colourfull magical beings called Spites.

I think we need S4 for all shortrange bowfire, and armour piercing(-1) on all ranges on top, before there should be talk of the army being OTT

I haven't played my elves since 7th edition, but I like the list and I think I could give something similar a try when moving on from my undeads. What is your battle pan? Even though I would love to include some Wild Riders, Glade Riders and so on like I used to, I feel the need to maximize the best...

I stick to the old fluff. I don't think I have read any fluff from a new book since I bought the current Wood Elf book at release.. Now and then I open some old armybook for a short read, but mostly I look at the pictures. So.. In my world Dark Elves got male sorcerers and the Vampiers are friends w...

Re: The Hobbit movie review
I got fed up after the second LotR, so these films might not be the thing for me, but I found it to slow.. and all the added fighting and epicness did not excite me. And the acting was bad. Maybe it was the screenplays fault? It almost seemed like the actors knew that it wasn't as good as last time....
