I worry more when companies motivated only by greed "fix" their game to sell more models rather than make it more balanced and enjoyable...popisdead wrote:I always worry when internet-cowboys "fix" a game :S

Re: New LOTR plastic Ent...(pics)
The pics look okay, though the ents look mostly birch-like. Some folks don't like them, but I think they are pretty good. Dunno if there are other variants in the box or not.

Re: WFB Main Rules FAQ - Part 2 (official)
Interesting... Spites count as magical items when determining the number of bound spells a char can have, but not when waving the flag... It's obviously an oversight or poor wording from GW's part, but it sucks nontheless. Actually the two are different answers. The WE FAQ says models can only have...

Re: WFB Main Rules FAQ - Part 2 (official)
Page 121, Bound Spells, last paragraph. Please replace the entire paragraph with: ‘A character cannot have more than one magic item containing a bound spell.’ vs Q. Can Treeman Ancients have spites that are bound spells as they already have the Tree Singing bound spell? A. They cannot, as a charact...

Re: WFB Main Rules FAQ - Part 2 (official)
The only thing that seems strange is what Peterhof commented on - a Wizard not being able to cast a spell on his own unit because he supposedly doesn't have LoS. That has to be the most RAW and outrageously wrong answer I've seen for a long time. I have to confess, that one was the strangest answer...

Re: 7th ed. Wood Elf Book
Skaven and Tombkings are in need of redoing. Then probably Beasts (they're pretty broken too, but still fun), and remember Bret's and Ogre's came out before. I seem to recall from one of the GD Italy reports that Alessio (I think it was him) specifically answered that TK and Ogres were not on the r...

Re: The 'Lost' GW PDF files.
Someone asked for the Chaos Dwarf files? Note that the US-GT FAQ is highly controversial, but was indeed official for last year's US GT circuit. Since the Zharr Dawi aren't allowed this year, it is pretty moot, but I have included it here for completeness.

Re: new dark elfs, check this
Looks good. My existing troops have no Corsairs. I wonder if they will be 'worth' it. The handbow looks interesting. From all the rumours, they will indeed be worth it. They will have the option at least for two hand weapons or hand weapon & handbow (some folks in the know say shields are not o...

Re: Alessio answers the ASF vs ASF question...
I agree with Eirik, as I often tend to do. The first time I read Alessio's answer, I got the worn-out phrase "Once against GW changes rules with a FAQ" into my head. Alessio's answer is, to me and many others, in contradiction to what the rulebook states. I won't argue his authority to ch...

Re: Alessio answers the ASF vs ASF question...
this is just another case of accepting one rule as absolute with no stated authority to do so. Nothing in ASF gives you permission to ignore the charging or the strikes last rules. I think it does. To each their own. I disagree. So that leaves us at a dice-off situation, does it not? I have seen no...

Re: Alessio answers the ASF vs ASF question...
That is correct, though great weapons also figure into it as well, i.e. ASF vs ASF w/GW means "normal" ASF will go first, but ASF w/GW will still go before any normal attacks. As to my comments, I'm merely pointing out that if you read *all* the rules it is entirely possible to come to the...

Re: Alessio answers the ASF vs ASF question...
The rule explains exactly at what order a model with ASF will attack. It can not be concluded from that rule that charging might have an effect too. The rule is too specific. Yes, it is specific. However, so is the charging rule. That's what I mean by reading *all* of them, not just one rule. It ma...

Re: Alessio answers the ASF vs ASF question...
It is a change from the rulebook rules, but maybe that is only because the rulebook rules were not detailed enough. It makes sense that if both models have ASF, the one that just charged has the upper hand, instead of dismissing the charge completely and only looking at initiative. But that is not ...

Sorry, I thought he was complaining because the models weren't WYSIWYG or something and wasn't allowing them to be used at all.

Re: Where Sisters Ride Naked . . .
FYI, WYSIWYG was removed from the rules in 7th edition. The only restriction is that the "majority" of models must be armed appropriately, but magic weapons (e.g. Caradryan's halberd) do not have to be specifically modeled. Besides which, Caradryan's weapon is actually *not* a halberd acco...
