Re: The Red Danes Wood Elves and Sylvaneth. Picture heavy.
Very nice, did you follow the glowing eyes tutorial from the forum? as for the horse painting, i saw a video on youtube detailing, how to paint good horses, he used a lot of layering to recreate the horse hair effect, i thought he had some good tips. Think his youtube account was docter faust's pai...

Re: The Red Danes Wood Elves and Sylvaneth. Picture heavy.
Thank you for the compliments. Yeah, I decided against shadow warriors because they seemed too "metal" with their equipment, I want as little metal in my army as possible. I may still buy a pack of Shadow Warriors simply for the draw hands and quivers. I also have some brass etched ivy vin...

The Red Danes Wood Elves and Sylvaneth. Picture heavy.
Well then! I finally got started putting my models together, so I'll be updating my progress here. I have a few images to start off with. http://i.imgur.com/qayqosW.jpg?1 Concept painting for my Dryads, I'm thinking of also adding a glow to the mouth, just to keep it all together, since they do have...

Re: Ideas for new Wood Elves AoS - Formation
Since now the Sylvaneth are a separate and independent army, with their own formation, I'm not sure how getting a formation makes them separate and independent when they are literally in the same army book. Minotuars, Gors and Ungors all got their own formations in the Beastmen book and no one is s...

Re: Branchwraith Spam
I just heard about that argument today on Heelenhammer's first podcast about summoning. It is,.. curious,.. but I don't think that is RAI. It might be something I do while playing WoC/Beastmen slaanesh to summon a couple Daemon Slaanesh units. I feel the Social Contract will mitigate summoning spam...

Tamrukhan and first look at Forgeworld Warscrolls.
So, Tamurkhan (or more correctly TAMURKHAN) just went up on forgeworld: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Tamurkhan-the-Maggot-Lord Besides being an awesome looking model, they also included a Warscroll for him and his horde: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/aos_warscrolls/warha...

Elf music! Or the ever popular "What do you listen to?"
What sort of music do you listen to when you're painting wood elves? Or when you want to feel inspired or in a "wood elfy" mood? The following are mine: Wardruna , is just choke full of primal ambiance and helps get into a good mood for making woodland bases and such, I'd say they're my go...

Yeah the rule of 'don't be a douche' is key here. I'm looking forward to "social contract" picking up steam rather than call people "douches" who may or may not know they are playing in an OP manner. Remember kids who are 13 may really like Stormfiends or Warp Lightning Cannons....

Re: Branchwraith Spam
Yeah, you get the branch-nymph as a free upgrade to each unit of dryads. One model in the unit is nominated as the 'leader', but you only have one leader per unit. p.s. Has anyone else noticed that the Branch-Wraith's "Roused to Wrath" ability is one of the few summoning spells that comes...

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
The problem is that in AoS a 1 is not an automatic failure and a 6 is not an automatic success. So if you can get your save down below +1 preferably to a -2 to avoid that pesky but rare 3 rend you unit is literally immortal against anything but mortal wounds. I'd still say that stacking the same eff...

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
Jury's out on stacking casts of Mystic Shield. I thought I read somewhere you can stack modifiers. Someone on twitter posted a quote of it. It could just be someone quoting some random forum post. As an example: You can stack +1's to your save roll, for example by having mystic shield and being in ...

That's a good suggestion, I'm not very proficient with greenstuff though, it's something I'll need to train. Though I assume it's not hard to cover up chainmail/scalemail and make it smooth.

I live in Alaska where the native villagers (Eskimo, Inupit, etc) can hunt whatever they want because they live a subsistence lifestyle. They are allowed to hunt whales, but they are the only ones. Here in America, if you want to eat a whale you have to go to the source. We have puffins too, but I'...

Awesome, good to know.
I'm just "worried" that using Shadow Warriors as bodies will look too "metalled" I like my Wood elves with very little metal armor.

The rules, under the combat phase states "The player whose turn it is picks a unit to attack with, then the opposing player must attack with a unit, and so on until all eligible units on both sides have attacked once each." Now, I'm not saying that you're wrong about Soporific breath, but ...

Re: Advice needed for kitbashing Wood elves.
1. The Sisters of Avelorn have some nice looking magical bows. 2. A lot of people (myself included) have kitbashed shadow warriors/sisters with the Glade Guard/scouts models to make some pretty good looking waywatchers. Never seen anyone try to do it with Eternal guard though. You should post them ...

(and then pile all your combat units in with him, so you get to strike with everything before he attacks) Is that how it works? The way I understood it, you still have to go back and forth, but if one or more of his units are engaged with the Dragon they have to wait till his other units have activ...

Re: So, Stormcast Eternals, how do we deal with them?
Yeah, That's correct one of the big points is that they have no wizards. One needs to keep in mind that ones own Wood elves are also slain if they interact with wyldwoods since Wood elves are not Sylvaneth. So casting magic near the wyldwoods should not be done if you have any Wanderer units near th...
