The Old Forest Awakens

Re: Moonstone Units

Spellsinger: Moonstone 17 Deepwood Scouts, Trueflight 3 ranks of 6. I think that can fit in easily enough. My friends and I play by the "d6+4 pieces of terrain" rules from the rulebook, with each of us placing terrain pieces consecutively. That means that at the very LEAST I can guarantee ...

Re: Defenders of The Blood Glade

Thanks folks! I definitely plan to write more. I've had a few games since, but they've been quite small (1250 pts) so I've avoided recording them. :) I plan to write more fluff for the army, too, as I quite enjoy it. I'm glad someone else likes "All things wither"! I took the Bolt Throwers...

Re: Defenders of The Blood Glade

I'm not sure on the Reaper Bolt Throwers, yet. They've never been the best against Dwarfs though they didn't do too badly.

Re: Defenders of The Blood Glade

Halting the Throng [/u] Hey there. So this battle was 2,500 points and was set narratively after a 3,000 point game in which a friend and I teamed up with our Elves (him Dark me Wood) and fought against another friend who plays Dwarfs. We use the Eternity King rules. In that game the Dwarfs wiped t...

Defenders of The Blood Glade

Hi there,

I'm going to use this thread to report on some battles that my Asrai (Eternity King army, but primarily Wood Elves) get involved in. I'll also include a little bit of fluff and some pictures.

Cheers,

Re: Bouncing Waywatchers: Eternity King Edition

Seriously ifyou do this then use a waystalker too :D It seems like a lot of characters are going to be in a WW unit that basicly prefers to stay out of combat though... 2 things: if you use glade guard instead you'd have more options for arrows (hagbane to kill the warmachines) and they wouldn't ne...

Re: Bouncing Waywatchers: Eternity King Edition

I think it would be hella fun :) I reckon you're looking at about 160 pts for Noble BSB with BotWD and heavy armor etc. You're also 50 pts short on Core (if I've worked it out correctly, you'd need 600 at 2400pt army). Could be annoying if you roll low with the acorn, but why not? I'd say give it a...

Re: Bouncing Waywatchers: Eternity King Edition

Haha wow! I'm more shocked that it hasn't come up before! Even without the BotWD it would be a pain in most people's necks. No fire to strip regen, though? Maybe it's not as important in your area, but BoEF could help on the sisters for that purpose. Good shout! So you folks think this army might w...

Bouncing Waywatchers: Eternity King Edition

Hi folks, I've been tempted to build a silly army for a surprise game or two against some of my pals. I know at least one of them reads this site, so if you see this Peter, don't spoil it! The plan revolves around the Acorn of Ages, Moonstone, the Banner of the World Dragon and a large unit of Wayw...

If you have the models, Wildwood Rangers are good against these armies.

Re: New Wood Elf Army: Updated & With A Little Fluff!

Personally I don't see switching Arrow type on GG as not having an all comers list though.. why would archers not be able to do that. IMHO in tourney's they should even let you do that before each game :D Another subtle hint: for so much fluff there is not so much paint.... immersion suffers when I...

Re: New Wood Elf Army: Updated & With A Little Fluff!

Nice last win vs the DE. But wasn't his list very... well not so good? Are you allowed to switch Arrow types between matches (for this match I'd have passed on the hagbanes.. not much targets where it perform best) Thanks! Most of his DEs were stolen a couple of years ago. We've all only just gotte...

Re: New Wood Elf Army: Hopes, Expectations and Results

Thanks for the advice! I will try that next time. Here's a new battle report for my second game against the Dark Elves. I played a couple of winning games against the Beastmen and Dark Elves between this, but I don't remember enough about them to do a full report. We moved up to 1,500 pts so I will...

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions so far.

Are you sure the Great Stag Elf is built into the Stag itself?

Re: Would this work? Forest Dragon Idea.

One worry I have with option 1 (which I much prefer the Dragon for) is that he is looking in a different direction to the Dragon. I think that could work, but maybe it wouldn't?

Would this work? Forest Dragon Idea.

Hi folks. I want a Glade Lord on a Forest Dragon. However, I don't like the forest dragon model (too metal and skinny for me!) and I'm not sure what rider to use. Here are the two dragons I am considering (in order of preference); http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/AlternativeFW/xlarge/carmi...

Re: New Wood Elf Army: Hopes, Expectations and Results

Two more games, two more wins. I'll report on Game Two first and save Game Three for later. Would appreciate thoughts/advice. Game Two: Beastmen Rematch - 1250 pts The Beastmen player came back with a newly designed force after the one sided opening game. This time he had 2 units of Gors, 1 unit of ...

I wasn't aware of that. Neither of us had played in years and we were on a short time scale, so we must have missed that part. It wasn't significant in the game fortunately as by that point it was over.

Re: New Wood Elf Army: Hopes, Expectations and Results

Thanks! I'm up against Dark Elves and possibly Dwarfs on Sunday. I am not sure if I'll be able to compete with the latter, but we'll see. Organ guns seem a lot more scary than they once were. My Sisters of the Thorn have a lore of life spell buff spell called Shield of Thorns, if I recall correctly....

New Wood Elf Army: Updated & With A Little Fluff!

Hi folks, I'm a new Wood Elf player and a returning veteran who quit the game after becoming disillusioned with Fantasy not long after 8th edition launched. I always wanted an Elven army back then and, with End Times: Khaine, I finally decided to get back into the game and buy some new models. I fi...
