Re: AoS: WE vs Daemons of Chaos
Nice write up :) It shows what I thought would be the case, that we're still strong. I honestly struggled against daemons in 8th, hoping I can have some fun now :) One question, I might have missed it in the write up as I skim read: Did you not roll off each turn to see who would go first? From what...

Re: Geoff's army so far
A few updates... Wasn't until I took pictures of these guys and had a look that I realised how much I'd rushed them and how cr*ppy they look. Oh well, here they are! Stormcast eternal with Glade Guard head https://farm1.staticflickr.com/416/19690142970_8f86707bbc_n.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com...

Re: Geoff's army so far
I reckon that could be possible based on the thickness of the arms, but I haven't got any swords yet, just the starter set which comes with no options for weapons. Not sure how much I'll expand my Stormcast army, the bowman look cool though

Re: Geoff's army so far
Been busy recently painting up a load of models, and need to take some pics to upload, but for the time being, here's a WIP pic of my free Stormcast dude. I used a Glade Guard head on him for giggles. Doesn't really fit with the "sealed in armour" fluff but meh, I wanted to! https://farm1....

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
Just played my first AoS game, in store with the GW manager. I was sigmarites and he was chaos. We played fast, as I was on my lunch break, but it was fun and full on. My main observations: 1. The game is fun, and fast (just under an hour) 2. Round bases are nice, but I really don't see how square w...

Re: Age of Sigmar army Spreadsheet
Yep fair enough :) I suppose I'm probably going to be playing games with a friend of mine and we'll agree a wound and/or a model count. My intention was to be able to quickly make sure I have a decent number of attacks/damage from both ranged and melee from the selections I've made. Ideally I'd buil...

Re: Age of Sigmar army Spreadsheet
Anyone have any thoughts for improvements? Or is it not very useful really? Lots of views but no comments
I've added a column to indicate models which I think should be unique per army (named chars). Also added direct link to WE warscrolls on the GW site.

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
Pretty sure you can't summon blue scribes: The Blue Scribes are a single model. One of the Scribes, P’tarix, transcribes pages of magical sigils, halting only to stab at approaching enemies with his Sharpened Quills, while Xirat’p reads his twin’s scrawl, casting spells hither and yon. They ride a D...

Age of Sigmar army Spreadsheet
Hey guys, I've created a google docs spreadsheet to make building a AoS army a bit easier for me. It's far from perfect, but if you plan on building a list based on total model or wound counts, this should help. It also has some basic calcs on number of attacks/damage per model/unit. Very basic. Sug...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
We've got a game this week where we're going to attempt to balance based on total number of wounds. See how that goes. I'm just glad I finally get to field Orion Now to actually paint him!

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
Is there anything in the rules that prevents you from bringing a combined army? Wood elf and Skaven for example. I can't see anything :S Why can a treeman move 6" but Durthu only 5"? Is it right that you can shoot even when in combat? A unit of glade riders in combat for example, can shoot...

Re: 500 pts lists
I really like that first one. I might consider dropping the Branchwraith for a Great Eagle. You might want to consider finding the old Warband rules and playing some games with those, they are really awesome for small points games. Like it :) And eagle in a game this size could be a great boon. Tha...

Re: 500 pts lists
I agree, AoS will be different, but I'm excited by it and want a small game, of 8th for fun :) I could try this list, as a combination of trees and shooting: Core 11xDryads - Branch Nymph Special 5x Deepwood Scouts - Muso + Hagbane 5x Deepwood Scouts - Muso + Hagbane Heroes Branchwraith Glade Captai...

500 pts lists
Hey guys, I'm playing a mate of mine tomorrow, and we've decided to have 2 500 pt games rather than 1 1500pt game, in attempt to try out small scale skirmishes, and prepare for AoS. Here are my 2 (very different) lists, what do you think? List 1 Core 12xDryads + Branch Nymph 12xDryads + Branch Nymph...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
I don't know about the unit sizes, but I understand that it's all about models. You kill models not units. The battleshock tests (after combat) can result in some but not all models in a unit fleeing. Fleeing models are now removed from play instantly, rather than running to be chased down.

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
If they were to release the 8th rules for free, they would need to make 8th edition statlines for all the new models in order to keep 8th edition players buying models, which is their business. I can't see it happening, but it would be nice

Re: How important is terrain in your games?
I love using terrain, the more the merrier. We normally use what we have, but select special types from the rule book. Normally end up with a selection of forests, walls, structures. We take it in turns to place the pieces. The way terrain is placed can really screw with your pre made battle plans, ...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Guys, look on the plus side. If the rumors are true, and the scale is now larger, we get a whole new load of shiny elves to buy and paint :) Yay! We got some nice models with the last book release, but naff all with Khaine. Bring it on I say :) Look at the positives, embrace the change, it's going t...

Re: Bouncing Waywatchers: Eternity King Edition
I think it would be hella fun :) I reckon you're looking at about 160 pts for Noble BSB with BotWD and heavy armor etc. You're also 50 pts short on Core (if I've worked it out correctly, you'd need 600 at 2400pt army). Could be annoying if you roll low with the acorn, but why not? I'd say give it a ...

Re: Anti-demons advice needed
We were playing 1k, and if I remember correctly, he had: Herald of Nurgle - lvl 1 wizard 20x Plague bearers 10x Pink Horrors 10x Pink Horrors 4x Beast of Nurgle 2x Nurgling bases He also got a free unit of 10 Plague bearers in his first turn on the daemon magic table thing. I had: Alarielle - avatar...

Re: Anti-demons advice needed
Alarielle in a unit of Phoenix Guard with BotWD, everything daemons have is magical, 2+ ward save :) Plus, all deamons within 12" of Alarielle take damage every turn Oh yeah and she hits and wounds on stupidly low, doing d6 wounds. This supported by her 3 lores, and a mix of hagbane/starfire gl...

Re: Sv: End times magic: powerful but possibly not broken...
So 4D6 are great, but I didn't once use all my dice. What I hadn't really twigged, is that while you have access to everything and can recast some spells (not end times and not 15+), you can still only cast as many spells as your level (i.e. Alarielle can cast 4 per phase). What? That changes every...

Re: End times magic: powerful but possibly not broken...
Hey guys, I played a 1k point game last night with a phoneix king list, using Alarielle, avatar of Isha. In a unit of 10 phoneix guard with Banner of the world dragon. Playing chaos :) My opponent took 2 units of horrors and a level 1 herald, and I also had a spellsinger. So 4D6 are great, but I did...
