Age of Sigmar to get points system
So fresh news from Games Workshop is that come the summer there will be an option to use points for tournaments as well as narrative rules and open play. GW paid close attention to the games at the South Coast Grand Tournament which used there own point system and I wouldn't be surprised if this ado...

Re: Speculation on "New" elf models
Duraska - you need to delete you wild rider scroll on the app and reload it. You'll find that it has a picture and in the description the Orion rules have been dropped.

Re: Some Wood Elves Being Eliminated!
Yes we can. I can see them vanishing eventually but they still have the wanderer key word so you can still use them happily. Even waywatchers. One is already missing though and that is that spellweavers don't have steeds. I have a copy of the warscroll with it on and I'll still use that.

Re: Some Wood Elves Being Eliminated!
Those that play AoS may have noticed we've gained a new unit. Sisters of avelorn are now Susters of the watch and have the Wanderer key word. So better firepower than glade guard.....makes them a bit redundant really. Also glade lords now have a better save.

Asrai Heroes in AoS
What in people's opinion are the best generals to use under the current warscrolls. I tend to take a dragon because of some of its extra rules but if monsters are a limiting factor I feel the other glade lords aren't up to much. I suppose we can look further afield and to other armies but I still lo...

Re: 9th Age, Age of Sigmar and Kings of War
Yes frogboy I think multi forums would help. Painting can remain a general thing along with discussion about elf stuff. Think things will pick up again once people start getting into which ever game system they want to play. Eventually, one of them will probably dominate! Should there be a forum for...

Re: 9th Age, Age of Sigmar and Kings of War
I've slotted happily enough into the AoS camp. However, until it is known what the asrai role is in all of this new world(s) I'm not sure what to suggest in terms of story stuff. Battle reports, armies and painting are all still relevant. Many comp lists available that people are now using so people...

Re: Some thoughts on Age of Sigmar
People also need to get out of there head the sparce battlefields you would have played during 8th addition. Get the table decorated with loads of scenery as you no longer have to move your troops in silly large clumps that don't fit through gaps. Bridge fights, alleyways, various buildings that can...

Re: AoS Point Cost Algorithm!
Another really good points balancer is the azyr comp list which is now being used in various tournaments. It's now been made into a great little calculator that uses pool system or point system

Re: AoS Point Cost Algorithm!
I'm not sure what the magic formula is, think there is some mention in earlier posts on it. It looks like all the armies are done now so it would be interesting how people find it. It's been good for me so far but I've not had chance to try against various armies just Orks.

Re: AoS Point Cost Algorithm!
You do know this has already been done? If you go to war of sigmar site that is run by lady atia you will find all you need points wise and rules to go along with it.
It's works well too. Just not many know about it yet.

Re: AoS Shooting in/out combat
Yes and yes. You can shoot whilst in combat at either the enemy you are striking or out of combat. I can't even see anything restricting you from splitting your fire. Crazy? Maybe, but it reminds me of legolas ninja style fighting! Your friends just need to stop comparing to 8th addition and go with...

Re: Basing Techniques, Tutorials and Tips?
Not sure about durability as I've only just put them on their bases but hopefully the super glue will hold. With the metal slot I'm still working out if I can cut the metal off a pin them on somehow. Got a load of older eternal guard to do so I hope it's not too tricky!

'Pile in' is still a move. It is not compulsory to do so which would lead me to believe if you want to keep the bonus of 'forest of boughs' you have to stay still.

Have to say I completely agree with frog boy on this. It's a good tactic and at the same time not a far fetched idea in terms of realism.

Re: AoS List
If you do take glade guard take a few more than 20 per unit. As soon as you drop below 20 you will loose your +1 to the dice roll. I'd drop one Warhawk rider instead.

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
Oh and I'm still debating whether to just take a unit of Sisters of Thorn over a single spellweaver. I've also just realised weavers and sisters can summon 5 hounds per turn too...... Lovely!

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
Well I've not had many games with my wood elves yet but I'm starting to learn a few things and also how to play differently. For one thing, the game is very different, and that means we can play very differently. I did the same thing at first that I've seen most people do: put al you units in loose ...

Re: WE vs WoC
Interesting report. I enjoyed this, I hate that chaos won, but most reports often only show winning games and this was quite refreshing if a little harrowing! I know I've got a few opponents coming up who play chaos and wonder how to takle such a tough force. My army list is very different to yours ...

Re: Teaching game
Having recently tried teaching my son the game I would say keep it simple keep it fun. I totally ignored the magic phase in the first few games just to get used to the mechanics of the basic shooting and fighting. Ditch magic missiles too. Introduce that later or you'll just baffle.

On that note, if people do use a BSB do they always put it on a steed and in something like a sister bus? I've been wondering about putting mine on an eagle. Would this work?
