Kit bashed Wardancer
Very simple one this and pretty cheap too in bits. Eldar Harlequin legs. Wild Rider Torso, Cloak & Weapon arm. Lothern Skycutter Crew head (although any Elf head without a helmet will do). Drill out the torso so that it sits on the Harlequin legs and can be posed (I used a pretty big drill bit f...

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
You can just take forests as they are a warscroll.
Remember to keep archers out of combat. If they get charged then counter charge with some Dryads and retreat them so they can shoot into the combat next turn. Don't do what most people do and just let the enemy grind down your army in hand to hand.

Re: AOS Strategy: "Pull from the Front", "Pull from the Back
Determine damage is different from inflicting damage (this section should be called allocate damage). You may be misunderstanding because most units do a fixed amount of damage. The process goes: Roll attack Roll wound Roll save Determine damage (usually 1 but sometimes more and sometimes random) On...

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
Wood Elves have gotten the thinnest end of the wedge with AoS. No longer being able to stay out of charge/firing arcs and harass the enemy has made the 6+ saves and 1 wound of most Elf models really hurt. Treekin are good (not as good as Ogres). Treemen are good. Warhawk Riders are good. Wild Riders...

Re: AOS Strategy: "Pull from the Front", "Pull from the Back
Models don't have to be in range for wounds to be assigned. The range only matters for being eligible to make attacks. Once you have determined that a model may attack (which is done all at once when you declare that unit is attacking) everything that comes after doesn't matter. X wounds are caused ...

Been a while since I did anything with my Wood Elves but I've been working on some Sisters of the Thorn recently. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/8/27/642720_sm-Sisters%20of%20the%20Thorn%20WIP%201.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/8/27/642721_sm-Sisters%20of%20the%20Thorn%20WI...

Summertime, Life and Forest Spirits - A Plog
Having not played Wood Elves since 4th edition the new Army Book has revitalised my interest in the Asrai. Combined with my fiancée having an old Wood Elf Battalion lying around the house I thought now was the perfect time to start a new army having gotten very bored of Warriors of Chaos. The theme ...

Re: Unicorn spellweavers:)
The unicorn is on a 50mm base now, correct? Depends what you use as the basis of the unicorn. The fey enchantress comes on a 40mm base, as does the Pegasus. Archaeon (as the one above is based on) is on a 50mm base. Monstrous cavalry is generally on a 50x75mm base though so there is clearly no real...

Triumph and treachery 1000 points
Next week I have a Triumph and Treachery game with 4 other people. It's 1000 points with no mercenaries. For those not familiar with the rules: deployment is in a 2'x2' area and no closer than 12" to an opponents models. This includes scouts so taking a zero deployment list is only going to res...

Waywatchers/Scouts from Eternal Guard
If; like me, you have been using the High Elf Shadow Warrior kit for conversions but only been using the bodies (Dark Elf Shades I'm looking at you) then you will have a whole bunch of amazing sword/bow arms lying around doing nothing with no bodies to attach them to. Enter the new Eternal Guard kit...

Re: Dryads, how will they be used?
I've found a big block to be an excellent caster bunker especially with some magic resistance (like from a unicorn). Being immune to psych they weather shooting and magic very well (especially sat in a forest) but they can't take a charge from anything remotely dangerous and are not much better on t...

Re: Wood Elves Monstrous Cav Unit!
What about adding in a cheap level 2 life/beasts caster on a unicorn for some magic resistance on top of those wards? Maybe have them carry the moonstone and put them in the second rank.
