Re: Managed to paint in 1 day!!!!!

Great job Cernunnos! I always enjoyed the Advent Challenges on DWP - trying to paint a figure in a single day is a different, refreshing kind of challenge :)

Re: And the forest shall lead you home

It is indeed sad to see the forest so quiet these days but as long as one person is still posting, the site is alive. The changes to the Warhammer World (and wider G.W. activity) have shaken the foundations of the whole gaming community, and we're still enduring the aftermath of that. There's a lot ...

Re: I am looking for tutorials.....

There's a couple of good ones I've used in the past for yellow: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/06/hobby-painting-glorious-yellow.html http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/lamenters-update-painting-yellow.html I personally prefer Dave Taylor's method, but it sort of depends what en...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?

Good to see there's still a few people around this ol' place :) I still check in occasionally, but I've been drifting to other games for a while now. AoS was the straw that broke the camel's back in some respects - I'd happily continue playing 8th, and I may give 9th a try, but I've no interest in A...

Re: Quiting Warhammer

It's always sad to see someone leave the hobby, for whatever reason. At the end of the day, you've got to make the decision that's best for you and if the game's no fun any more then you're probably making the right one. The one piece of advice I would give you, as Zanthorn said, is to keep hold of ...

Re: Eternity king and Waystalkers

UK seems pretty split, 50% Lords and Heroes is in now generally but some tournies allow End Times stuff, some don't. I've not seen an event with Khaine magic yet. Sheffield Slaughter last weekend allowed Khaine lists, so presumably also used Khaine magic rules as well. Interesting to note that Host...

Re: Khaine - where to start with building a list?

I would like to hear your experiences with using the new magic rules, I really think they suck and do not make for a fun game. Given that magic was already a big divider of opinion in the basic 8th Ed. rules anyway, any set of rules worthy of the name "End Times" is bound to do the same. ...

Re: Khaine - where to start with building a list?

I had my first End Times game on Tuesday, and was in the same boat as you. I just took all Wood Elves as a Host of the Eternity King, and found it worked wonderfully. Even without adding in any Dark or High Elf units/characters, just gaining Murderous and Martial Prowess full-time (instead of only i...

Re: petition to GW

Not sure there's much point in a petition like this. For a start, GW doesn't even have a CEO right now, so no-one will be changing anything in the direction of the company until such times as that changes. ~gwh But with attitudes like that, nothing will ever change. It costs nothing to put your nam...

Re: Board attachment quota

It usually refers to the number of attachments you're allowed in a single post. If you're trying to post images then most likely you're putting too many in one post. I can't remember exactly what the quota is set at, but try splitting the images over several posts.

Re: Elven deities real-world counterparts

To throw another name into the Isha comparisons - Isis, Egyptian mother goddess, patron of nature and magic. Resurrected her husband (Osiris; although she only had to resurrect him once, rather than every spring...)

Re: GladeRiders only get Armour Piercing on the turn they ch

Except that Wood Elves don't use BRB Spears. They use Asrai Spears, which are a completely new weapon entry. Unlike the spear rules in the BRB, the Asrai Spear does not state that it can only be used when charging. Only the +1 Strength bonus is lost when not charging.

Re: Eagle characters; can they go into units of warhawks or

Eagles are on a 40mm. The metal great eagles that are still sold for high/wood elves come in a 40mm No, they don't. The only Great Eagles you can get from GW now (at least in the UK) are these ones and they come on 50mm bases. The only Eagles that have ever come on 40mm bases are the old "War ...

Re: FTE's Report from the 2014 Unplugged GT

Nice write ups FTE! On the topic of Eternal Guard: Eternal Guard As described in my previous post, the Eternal Guard did what I wanted of them. But the points cost of the unit was a little high for that utility. I think I might get better returns from adding more glade guard. Overall Grade: B I'd li...

Re: Random Army? - Now with Most Armies

....Hence why the only change I think *needs* making is to only generate armies using the figures available. Re: Random Army? - Now with Most Armies

Absolutely agree, my point in suggesting otherwise is not meant to take away from the completely random (which is hilarious and awesome) but to add an option (as in optional ) to have it come up less random by making simple rule sets that might be a good basis for a small tournament for example :) ...

Re: Ryan Abt Battle Log 5/27 Update

The only comment I'd offer is to question the Starfire Arrows on the BSB and the Standard of Discipline on the Glade Guard - why are they there? Once he's fired the HoDA, the BSB will only be getting one shot per turn, and Starfire arrows will only prove useful against particular armies anyway. Give...
