Re: Is waystalker almost useless?
Dear fellow wood elves, The waystalkers special rule hawk-eyed archer allows to target champions and characters inside enemy units. Very cool. However, I just realised that the look out sir rule has changed to cover all shooting attacks and not just templates: “Look Out, Sir!”: If a character is hi...

Re: Weak Units
Don't disagree with anything here. Treekin not having any real ap (outside of treewhack success) Warhawks being nuetered. And waywatchers/stalkers being in general just not worth it... I do question EG though. Especially depending on whether they come down that Drilled works just like it did in anci...

Re: Wardancer Throwing Spears
I think if I would decide to go rank and file wardancer unit I would consider the spears. They could work as rank and file but will be costly, especially with wardancer hero. Probably not cost effective way to use them but need to playtest such unit anyway. Since they have open order, cmd group and...

Re: Sisters of the Thorn - what spell to choose?
Nice spot. But it doesn't change the rule about only shooting once per phase though. Unless there is another exception hidden somewhere..... Edit: I suppose if a spell gets dispelled , then it wasn't really shot/fired but only attempted? So having multiple magic missiles, vortex and shooting weapon...

Re: What the hell happened?
Hey, The nearest thing we have to "old" warhammer to play is 9th Age - unless of course you and friends still have/want to play 8th edition! All the rules for it are free on the website: https://www.the-ninth-age.com/ Game is ok. Not 100% warhammer itself anymore but it's the most similar ...

Re: Forest Stalker in and out question
WWR are not stubborn, that's Eternal guard. I almost typed this a day ago... Then realized they are talking about sun's list... Or at least that's what I assumed since it was linked/ the primary driving force for this... Which has a stubborn crown in the unit so yes... They are stubborn in the cont...

Re: New ETC List
Scouts cannot lose their scouting. Unless I've missed an FAQ/change for ETC that I'm not aware of. It's not an option. Characters would have to start in GG and move into the scouted unit turn one. 7th ed we had the option to deploy as normal. Scouts no longer have an option - nor do ambushers. 8th e...

Re: Eternal guards, how many?
-I used the wild riders defensively to protect the flanks of the eternal guard. In the end they survived the battle but did not bring their points back. Maybe i will swap one of them to bring warhawk riders to kill the boltthrowers. I was afraid to ride the wild riders to the bolt throwers because ...

Re: Fire on the March Question
But bill, following that reasoning wild riders are only armour piercing on their first turn of combat. (as normal spears are only used when charging for cavalry) I know which of the two I prefer! Well, if Wild Riders only have armor piercing because of their Asrai Spears, and it would appear that t...

Re: Fire on the March Question
Billthesurly, sisters of the thorn have unique javelins, they are poisoned and armorial armour piercing, but don't have quick to fire. Kinda like how eternal guard have the only spears in the game that grant an extra fighting rank even on the charge. Blackbriar Javelins are JAVELINS. They shoot jus...

Re: Fire on the March Question
Def him. I can/do agree with you on the Spears for the Cav. I realize its still a "spear" and would prefer to avoid the arguements we had in the book right before this when it's clearly named a spear in our magic items  But... If our sisters are stuck (rightly so IMO) witho...

Quick Post: The Club in Cleveland (Brews) plays with swedish almost all the time at the forefront of our games and the occasional ETC (for those northeast region tournaments when we feel like dealing with "those" people :sexy: ). Burgy Won it last year (finished 6th this year and on the fi...

Re: Light Council Tactics
Totally agree with the Earthing Rod. Probably more useful honestly than the moonstone. Fast cav doesn't exactly NEED a moonstone :) They bring more than balanced lists. Its the fact that we're so fast, with zero penalties and with a level 4 (or 2 if you roll that way) we can generally shut down mag...

Re: Light Council Tactics
Off topic momentarily! Playing with non-power choices is how you get better at this game. Playing lists that aren't complete avoidance weekly will make you better at this game. Playing with a comp NORMALLY makes for better games as GW has decided they aren't a game company. Slaanesh Forsaken are a ...

BSB front rank with zero survivability... Sounds like an absolutely grand idea :) GG die in droves. And for one round you might protect a character with a champion.... Till he kills it first round since you're still a GG duder. Or just run EG and not need the points for crown and not have to put cha...

There in lines your issue... Discussion kinda ends there for the most part.
Max 3. Which is why most people then run them at either 6 or 7 man units.

Re: Hagbane or Trueflight?
Enchanted Arrows are a new Unit Upgrade available in the current WE book. Hail of Doom Arrow is not an Enchanted Arrow, it's a magic item only available to characters. It's not covered by the Enchanted Arrows rules on pg 37. If HoD was an Enchanted Arrow per those rules, you could take it alongside...

Re: Hagbane or Trueflight?
One sneaky thing I saw recently: Eternal Flame on Trueflight. Why? Purely so the HoD BSB could join the unit and make use of it. Can't do it Phil! Looks to good to be true... probably too good to be true! I'll copy paste what was written previously when the book came out. Bolded the really relevant...
