Re: AOS Strategy: "Pull from the Front", "Pull from the Back
Regarding pulling models, I don't know if you're going to be able to limit attacks from the initial attacking unit. I.e. iron guts hitting dryads, iron guts will get their full attacks, regardless of where things get pulled from. HOWEVER This changes when you have multiple units in combat. Say you h...

Re: AoS - New units?
The models are gorgeous. A lot of people accuse them of being space marines, but I feel like they have a distinct look and will form the basis for a lot of really good conversions. The detail and size of the models are incredible. Because they are so big, the amount of relief available is amazing, a...

No. Bottom of the document, counts as a Tiranoc Chariot, which you can use legally as part of your "wood elf" army.Akorndr2 wrote:Did we also get a chariot back???

Re: Heads Exploding! Age of Sigmar Rules Released Online
I agree with not taking it seriously. Check out some of the unit grouping special rules. Orcs get extra charge distance if the player shouts wagh when they charge. Like, actually shouts it. Yeah, no thanks. Still, simple is usually better. Fewer rules tends to mean more strategy. Fingers crossed tha...

Also might be better with some death magic in there. Shadow is fine, but doesn't help capitalize on wounds dealt here and there by the stalkers. Soulblight also helps make t4/5 things more vulnerable. Might try 2*lvl 4, one death one high, WS w/bow of loren, the rest of your list.

Re: Remember the old Eternal Guard Phalanx? lets theory-hamm
Why not use wildwood rangers? You start at s5, get a boost to attacks anyway, and since you're relying on magic anyway, you get things a little more reliably. You also have 15 points of banner to play with, either taking MR1, +1 ld or +1 mvmt. Otherwise, I'd look at 2*10 Hangbane, 2*10 Trueflight gl...

Combat wood elves: Suicide elves reborn?
Hi all, I've been having fun with the dance and shoot netilst for a while, but I feel like it might be time to change it up a bit. Despite all the hate it gets, I think that the sheer number of asf attacks that we can bring to the table is worth pushing forward, especially when combined with all of ...

Re: Daemons: ummm, what??
I refuse to play against demons in "friendly" games. If you have to deal with them, here are some things that have worked for me in the past. Poison arrows and flaming sisters are the answer to beasts. They should never be able to charge wild riders. Trueflight arrows can do a number on th...

How did the WE do at the ETC?
Hey all, I'm interested to hear how the various WE lists did at the ETC. There were a lot of glade rider heavy armies and I'm curious how that worked out! Were they total avoidance denial lists going for 10-10s or did they snag a win here and there? How did all the waystalkers work out? Was death ma...

Re: Treekin - worth a try
I'd like to agree with Phil. Treekin are good against infantry. They are not good against superman or charging heavy cavalry. Look at lists that are performing well. Aside from elves and skaven (and to a lesser extent lizardmen), very few armies are taking infantry backbones. This means that the tre...

Re: Would love some suggestions on lore choice
Heavens, death, shadows or metal. Metal gives +1 to hit, deals with armor/high T and anti-horde. Heavens makes your shooting nuts, ice shard blizzard is the best thing ever, cheap s6 magic missiles with immense range. Also comet. Death deals with super man (who will make your life miserable) and -1T...

Re: Conversions from the Island of Blood box set
Griffon->eagle Swordmasters->wildwood rangers (not easy!) Sea guard->eternal guard Reavers->glade riders Some of these are not easy and even if you get it done, you're going to have an army that looks very high elf-y. Think kind of an Averlorn themed high elf army. For the reavers/EG/SM, I had to do...

I don't see why it's an "or" question. The magic that a level 4 brings boosts the effectiveness of the waystalkers like whoa. Both death and shadows are great of making the most of them.

Re: Enchanted arrows: force multiplier and cause for grumbli
Thanks for the feedback SmithF. I agree with you and hope your experimentation can come up with an alternative to avoidance/bowfire. So far, I've been struggling to do so. The best I've been able to do is highly mobile combat that can get out of the way of things it doesn't want to deal with, but th...

Re: Enchanted arrows: force multiplier and cause for grumbli
I agree to an extent with what you are saying SmithF, and believe that the current rage of archers and super-shooty wood elves is an unfortunate side effect of how the current book was designed. I do disagree with you on some points: Arrows are quite useful against opponents with no/little armor and...

Re: Have you had any success running Combat Wood Elves?
I have said it several times, and I'll say it again here: combat wood elves are fine if you're willing to play avoidance with your non-combat elements. Dragons and wild riders are IMO the answer with a totally avoidance core (glade riders). Keep in mind that 10 glade riders are not slouches in comba...

Re: Combat Wood Elves... MAKE IT WORK!
Don't delude yourself by thinking that high elf "power build" combat armies win with units. They win with a s7 prince and a bunch of nobles in a cav unit, phoenixes and a bunch of white lions with botwd. We can do s7, but we can't really manage botwd or phoenixes. I will say that sisters o...

Re: Kitbashing Wildriders/Glade Riders
If you're ok using glade rider legs and horses, you can make 2 mages on stags, a bsb, 2 6s of wild riders and 8 sisters from 3 boxes of WR/Sisters and a box of glade riders. There are enough command arms to make it work. The only thing you'll miss are the hair bits for the WR/sisters.

Moonstone.
Why not take a dragon, 600 points of glade riders, 2 treemen and wild wood rangers? That gets you lots of hitting power and passable shooting.

Neat list!
I'd split the way watchers in half, try and weasel in 2 eagles and a third unit of wild riders and slap the +1 Ld banner on the EG.

That's a really interesting list you've got there Mollesvinet! I love it; though you are far above the minimum core points, have you thought about swapping out glade guard for more scouts? Also, shadow dancer with potion of strength? What kinds of games were you experiencing? Again, I really really ...
