AoS: Wanderer host or large group of Glade Guard
Is it better to get a Wanderer Host with two smaller groups of Glade Guard (10 and 20) or a regular list with a large group of Glade Guard (30)? Is the Wanderer Host worth it? I have a friendly event (3 games) coming up with 100 wounds. I barely have enough models/wounds. What I have: 1 Glade Lord 1...

Re: Progress Blog: Autumn Wood Elves
I think they look very nice!
Do the faces appear to not have definition? If so, maybe consider some highlights/shadows.

Re: Planned Wood Elf Standard Bearer
I agree that the mini is not going to look exactly like the colors that are depicted in the image. However, I disagree that it is a waste of time to create a mock up in Photoshop for two reasons: 1. I am not a great artist so creating a mock up seems important. Although I bet even great artists test...

Planned Wood Elf Standard Bearer
I have had this standard bearer model for awhile, and I want to plan the color scheme before I start painting. This is NOT a painted mini, but a Photoshop overlay of the model. Because of the overlay, the colors may not come across perfectly (e.g., the scarf and the belt are supposed to be the same ...

Re: Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
Thanks jgibz the infographics and tools are really helpful. Though is it possible to remove characters from the the tool as they really aren't units and shouldn't be compared to them when determining roles. I thought about leaving characters out. Thank you for confirming that thought. I have remove...

Re: Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
Thanks for the positive feedback. The way I categorized units is subjective. Therefore, I have made a tool to help everyone categorize units: http://listhammer.com/unit-comparison/

Re: Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
If you are interested, I posted a High Elf infographic similar to the Wood Elf one --> http://www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic. ... 969#p89796
It was much harder to create due to my perception that there are more versatile High Elf units.

Re: Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
Thanks for the sticky. It is always nice to have your work appreciated. A few things that I reflect on as I look at this diagram: 1. Wardancers seem to be able to play in more roles than any other unit. How do you see this as you play your games? 2. The Wood Elf units appear to be fairly specialized...

Re: Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
Thanks for the feedback so far. I have revised the graphic and created version 2. @Cosmos - I agree that this won't help people create power lists. It will actually probably do the opposite :) @Aezeal - I agree that I was a little too harsh with the Tree Kin. I have raised their value and included t...

Wood Elf Unit Overview Infographic
I really enjoy playing all-comer lists and therefore I concentrate on building lists that can play against a large variety of units. So, I spent some time analyzing the strengths and roles of the Wood Elf units (excluding characters) and I came up with what I think is a nice diagram to show their ro...

Re: 1500 PTS, All advice taken on board.
If you haven't read this already, this article is a great tactical guide on dryads -> http://asrai.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=28005 . Specifically it mentions that Dryads are more dependent on higher leadership/rerollable leadership. I also love taking Hagbane tips. In my armies, I always take som...

Re: jgibz Army Blog (3rd report 6/19)
Also thunderstomp are distributed as per shooting, so you can't target the herald out of his unit using them. Otherwise thunderstomp would be amazing, high roll would be instant death for most combat characters. Why didn't you flee with the scouts when charged by the blood letters/screamers? Good t...

Re: jgibz Army Blog (3rd report 6/19)
I didn't know about regen and ward saves, he was taking both. We kept forgetting other things like -1 to hit Nurgle and taking a fear test on the EG, so it may have washed out.

Re: Daemon Target Priority?
Thanks for the feedback. I assumed that since Drones were rare that they would probably hit pretty hard and/or be able to tie up my eternal guard or treeman till the rest of his army got there. Yes, drones hover, but they still have a possible 22" charge arc (if I am not mistaken). I worry that...

Re: Daemon Target Priority?
The problem with the Treeman fighting the PB are that they are poison, right?
The reason I was think Life was to get wounds back on the Treeman, not so much the wizard. I was also thinking of putting the wizard in one of the scout units as soon as I am able.

Daemon Target Priority?
I have a game coming up against Daemons (1000 points). I haven't ever played them before and I am trying to figure out the best target priority for my archers. After telling him what I was going to bring he told me that he is bringing plaguebearers, horrors, tzeentch herald, nurgle herald, screamers...

Re: What are the Dimensions of a Good List?
So the main reason that I asked this question is that I wanted to be able to catalog and rank lists. I wanted to come up with a systematic way of doing this. Since I develop tools to organize and display information, I wanted to develop a tool to sort and rank fantasy lists... so I did: http://www.l...

Re: jgibz Army Blog
I did win both of the games. I didn't count up the points as I tabled both opponents. @Superstealthyninjafo Thanks for the comment. You are right about me not being aggressive enough. I would likely get more out of it if I charged in with the Treeman. The Glade Guard will likely turn into smaller un...

Escalating to 1500
My escalation league is going to be moving from 1000 pts to 1500 pts starting around June 23rd and I want to get started painting the next set of 500 pts. My 1000 pt list has been doing well and I would like to keep roughly the same style of list and using most of the same models as they are painted...

New battle report against High Elves (Different opponent) -- if moderators feel tho belongs better in the battle reports forum, feel free to move it -- I changed one minor thing from the previous list. I traded Strangleroots on the Treeman for one more Deepwood Scout. Lessons learned - Treemen are a...
