Re: Size of GW wood
Somewhere on this forum is a template. I think it was done by Godwearshats for the Dimensional Cascade podcast. I did have a look but couldn't find it. You might have more luck.

Re: Games Workshop Store:
The original dryad box only had 12 dryads in didn't it? Now you get 16. Was £20 now £25. That doesn't seem too bad to me...or am missing something.

Re: From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
Love this. The standard of work is impeccable. Look forward to more! Thank you[emoji15] I played a game of AoS as Sylvaneth the other week and used dual branchwraiths. They were really rather good so I'm just painting up a couple of models to use. The first is Drycha the second is a old metal Dryad...

Re: From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
Beautiful, really one of the best I've seen and really makes me want to buy this model that otherwise I've not been totally keen on the aesthetics of. The palette you've chosen works really well, simple yet really effective, I especially love the beard and other green growths. The base is simply be...

Re: From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
Nice! Care to tell what products you used for basing? :) Lol, a mutual appreciation society! There's various stuff on the base, the mushrooms are home made, very easy to do from green stuff, as are the croziers of the fern. The fern leaves and some of the static grass are GW products. The grass wit...

From the Dark Paths and Dappled Glades
This is where I'm going to be posting my latest painting efforts. I'm a pretty slow painter so don't think it'll be update that frequently, but having said that I'm feeling pretty enthused by the return of the Tree Spirits in AoS (sacrilege!), something which had really disappointed me about the 8th...

Re: First model from a batch of Dryads :)
Love it! You've got really good definition on the tattoo/knots in the bark and I really like your use of the foliage, what is it and where did you get it from? I'm not a huge fan of the glowing stuff people have been doing recently so seeing a more 'naturalistic' dryad is refreshing!

Re: AOS Wood Elf units, strengths/weaknesses
Played my first game of AoS t'other night. Has anyone tried glade riders yet? They are really strong getting two attacks with their bows and being able to shoot after running (with a 14" move). Took a unit of 14. They were awesome until they got into combat. The other big winner was the Durthu ...

Re: Glade Riders- The good, bad and the ugly?
I find them to be invaluable when dealing with warmachine heavy armies. There really is very little that can stop them other than your opponent holding back a lot of his army.

Re: Speculation on the fate of the Asrai (lore and gameplay)
I'm glad to see the optimism and creativity here... The Asari will live on! Sorry for dragging the Warseer doom, gloom and melodrama over here. I AM looking forward to 9th and seeing how WEs fit into it. I will definitiely be giving it a try. I had drafted a further reply as I was aware that I'd go...

Re: Speculation on the fate of the Asrai (lore and gameplay)
From following the rumour threads on Warseer I get the impression that the changes to the "Elf" faction are going to be far more severe than some of the posts in this thread assume. Although some existing models will make it through rumours suggest that the 9th edition factions will be alm...

Re: Are Treekin really that bad?
The only redeeming feature I can think of in response to the general feeling that treekin are a poor choice is that they can be used as a screen against cannon? They might be useful im that respect.

Re: Are Treekin really that bad?
If you're relying on magic buffs or the inclusion of kitted out combat characters just to make a unit functional then that says to me that they are not worth bothering with. I think I'll just invest in some warhawks instead. Such a shame I love the tree spirit elements of our army, although even fro...

Re: Are Treekin really that bad?
Hmm. After using a treeman a few times and being pleasantly suprised I thought they might be worth it but sounds like that's not the case. So better to load up on treemen if I want some muscle? I'm having the problem that my usual opponent is getting bored of me running away all the time so trying t...

Was thinking of getting some but not sure if they are worth it since the nerfing? Don't want to inveat a tonne of money in a unit I won't field.

Used Durthu in my last game. A Close Combat no magic list at 1500pts v OnG. He was immense. Will definitely take him again.
