Re: aos units
The current units listed for free in the wood elf document is missing some that you will find in the Order battletome. In AOS you can have a detachment with pure wanderers and gain the benefit of that. You can have a separate detachment with only Sylvaneth. As both are part of Grand Alliance Order, ...

Re: Winter Asrai
I actually was working on a winter themed army too, kind of similar to your scheme, however, my Wood Elves are based on D&D Drow for skin colour, to contrast the lighter clothing.
Here's my lord that I am working on, a converted unit of Glade Riders and one of my units of Glade Guard.

3k Nagash end times game list
A while back I mentioned I was going to play against a friend who was bringing Nagash to a battle at 3k. That got delayed when they had a baby in the house, so we decided to revisit it next time we play. In preparation I've built out a list for what I think I'll bring to the game, feedback welcome. ...

Re: Sisters of twilight on Gwindalor (eagle) alternate
I'm actually converting this up at the moment for my game against my friends Undead army with Nagash. Back.jpg Front.jpg On foot.JPG My wood elves are Drow inspired so all of them have dark skin like: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070303142659/forgottenrealms/images/f/f3/Drow.JPG So one of th...

Re: Facing Nagash - List for review
Looking at it, High and Light are probably better choices. i'm still set on taking a treeman, but who knows what I'll decide between now and the game. I'll definitely post up once it's done to say how i got on.

Facing Nagash - List for review
So my regular opponent, who plays Vampire Counts, has bought himself Nagash, and some may say stupidly, I have agreed to give a try against him. The game is set at 3k and I've drafted up the list below. ========================================= Treeman Ancient - Level 4 Lore of Life Spellweaver - Le...

Re: Salaius' Snow Drow
So it's been a while since I updated, but I've been prepping an army list to play against my regular opponent who wants to try Nagash. I needed a mounted Spellweaver to ride with some Sisters of the Thorn, so I converted up the following model. C&C welcome. Mounted Spellweaver2.jpg Mounted Spell...

Re: A Warning to Anyone Building Wildwood Rangers
Yeah..just assembled 30 rangers over past couple of days, and had the exact same problem happen to me as well. If I had only read the assembly manual  Although, like somebody said previously...GW really makes nice model kits. Their old metal models still look great though. As a man i refuse to...

There was an update to the IPAD version tonight which corrects the point discrepancy. It's now the same cost as the book.

Re: 1500 List
Thanks fort he reply GWH, I got the fine cast unicorn which comes with a normal cavalry base, I think it's just the brettonian one that comes with the 50x50 one. So I'm not sure if 8 would cover it, either way I was thinking of dropping the ground to 5 and then putting a weaver on eagle with beasts ...

1500 List
I've got my first 1500 game with the new book coming up in the next fortnight, I thought I'd try something a bit different to my normal GG heavy list so I went about putting this together this morning with the new book. Level 2 Spellsinger on Unicorn, Asrai Bow 10 Glade Guard 10 Glade Guard 8 Glade ...

Re: WTB Waywatchers
With the right amount of green stuff and some Glade Guard you can convert your own. For example, I made mine from Glade Guard and put some more detailing on their cloaks, such as furs etc and some statics flock for camo. Might save you a bit of money in the long run.

Re: Why we play wood elves?
I only recently (approx 4/5 months) got into Warhammer after playing Warhammer 40k for 20+ years, but I'd had an interest in Wood Elves every since this White Dwarf. http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae119/cunningmatt/HighElfBlog1368.jpg Plus I'm pretty sure the years of DND/WFRP games where I've p...

From what we can see, it looks like the rumours of the Eternal Guard going was wrong, and I'm quite happy at that, having converted about 40 from High Elf Spearmen recently, that probably would have made me cry.

Personally I'm just looking forward to having a choice on the low level caster regardless of what i find to be effective. That restriction of lore of athel loren only was real harsh.

Interestingly, looking at the GW UK site today it states that the Wild Rider boxset is "no longer available". Sign of things to come?

Re: HELP - WINTER DRYADS
You could always think about something along the lines of fur trees and then put some snow on the top of them. Alternatively, you could look at perhaps making them like birch trees?
Both of which I've considered for my Winter Hold.

Re: Salaius' Snow Drow
So I've been away on busy for at least 2 weeks and it's taken me a week or so to get back into UK time for my sleep pattern. So this past week I've been focusing on bringing my glade riders on wolves completed. I promised some updates on when they were done, so here's the picture of it so far, a few...
