Branching out into Malifaux - Marcus, the Beastmaster
Hello everyone, recently I gathered some voucher in our local miniatures shop and, since the shop is now pushing towards it from several months, I decided to give a try to Malifaux. The game is extremely challenging with a very different playing system and almost infinite possibilities. You choose o...

Re: "Age of Sigmar" speculations
Well, the box minis content looks pretty in line with the Isle of Blood starter box, except for the rule book, but if the other rumor is true, then we won't need to worry about rule books at all. It looks a lot like Infinity or Malifaux support for players (free download of the rule book and ruleset...

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
It is with no doubt. It's Italy that's not the best country where to live, work, rise children and cultivate passions and hobby. On second thought, it could be a good place to live in, if only there was something else other than a good climate and wonderful places. But those things can be found else...

Re: Nonno's army - Growing BIG!
Hi everyone, Some quick update with no pics yet, unfortunately. Last weekend I helped our local shop manager to organise a 60+ people tournament of Magic: the Gathering in the brew pub were I work and play music occasionally. The day was great and we had a lot of ideas about a similar event for war ...

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Thanks Razorfate,
I'll make sure to let you know.
Unfortunately I'm afraid Istanbul has become just a destination for holidays since my sister and her Turkish boyfriend broke up.
Anyway, if I happen to be there, I'll come to visit you very gladly.

Re: Where are you from? Where do you live?
Born in Turin, Italy. In early 90's my parents had the opportunity to move to New Zealand and chose not to because of grandparents. I lived a month in Brighton, UK; a month in Paris and a couple in Nice, France. I have relatives scattered allover the world and I planned to move in each place (Spain,...

Re: ET: Khaine - Phoenix King vs Da Green Kingdom
Ok, after all the work and time spent for the Battle Brother tournament, it’s time to keep up with the End of Time Campaign of our local gaming club. It’s been a couple of weeks since I actually played this game and my notes were lost, found again in a pocket of my jeans just before the washing mach...

Re: 1500 points against Ogres
Ironblasters die "quickly" to boosted Searing Dooms or Wild Riders charges (actually the latter are much faster in taking it down). If you run Sisters, they also can reach it pretty safely by turn 2 and if you charge it, you stand good chances to route it down with the ladies. Just make su...

Re: 2500 pts of MSU. One last time on the drawing board.
Yeah, there's some kind of tale based upon them, where Aryandror is the father of Laurien and Alastair. I started the tale during the Glottkin campaign held by our local gaming club, but it's written in Italian and I lack time and skills to translate all of it in English. Here there's the start of t...

2500 pts of MSU. One last time on the drawing board.
Apparently in a few days we won't be able to play Warhammer as we know it anymore (actually, we will be able to play it whenever we'll feel to, but GW won't support it anymore), so I decided to take a MSU army out one last time for some matches with club mates. First the list, then I'll explain my c...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
I guess that will be the thing most gaming club will do.
If you don't like what comes with 9th, then stick with 8th and eventual house-rules to taste.

Re: Magic Idea
The most logical way to me seems just one: On the statline you read a Ld value, then you use that value for Spirit Leeching purposes or in place of the Str value with Mindrazor. Plain, simple and unquestionable. Otherwise you should allow anything to interfere. (spells,.banners, inspiring presence, ...

Re: 2500 wood elf need help with what character to improve l
Your posts are a bit messy, But if I understood correctly you have an all mounted core, a unit of sisters and 20 WW. Right? In general combat characters in WE are never worth as some casters. A L4 is mandatory and a second caster recommended, as a BSB is. With 600 pts you could fit a Unicorn Highwea...

Re: 1500 points against Ogres
More arrows is always a solution. To answer your question Swift Guardian, yes. Interposing units confer hard cover unless the target has the Large Target rule. 10 WWR are not that strong alone. I'd say two teams of 10 perform better or a single bigger unit (20-25). In small numbers, Wardancers are u...

Re: Magic Idea
According to as it's written and official GW FAQ, in my area it's played like this: you use the Ld value printed on the statline of the model, UNLESS the model is under the Inspiring Presence of its General. In this case, the General's Ld value takes the place of the model's one for any purpose. Eve...

Re: Journey to the Dark Side - Game 3 - Goblins + Warriors
Let's have some last musings about the day. Re: 1500 points against Ogres
Treekin don't block it either. Units can't block Line of SIght unless they're bigger than the unit behind (on the other hand, if you aplly real Line of SIght it could be tricky to determine). The point in monstruous infantry/cavalry is that they stop cannonbals because if the model isn't killed the ...

Re: 1500 points against Ogres
I don't like Treekin, especially against Ogres, where they are easily outmatched by your opponent's troops. If you want something able to block an Ogre charge to stop and delay them, consider a couple of units of Wardancers instead. In a wood they're stubborn, ItP means that fear is not an issue and...
