Yes, great idea. Larger communities are going to fare better in the long run, regardless of what happens to hobby itself.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
There's a map feature on the 9th Age website that lets you find local players. Not everyone has put their location on it, but it's worth a shot.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
@Frogboy: If you are looking for a demigod that may one day have rules, similar to Orion in the old books, look to Cadaron. He is the Forest King, after all. He also may be other things, but we leave you to draw your own conclusions on that front.

Re: 9th Age: Sylvan Elves
The old special characters are, sadly, dead and gone, due to the aforementioned IP issues. However, the Rules Team aims to have rules you can use to represent any model you would have fielded before, including the character models. We at the Background & Art Team will be pushing for new special ...

Re: 9th Age, Age of Sigmar and Kings of War
I think multiple forums is a grand idea, along with an additional subforum for Other Games, which could include anything wood elfy in any wargame, rpg or other such out there that isn't quite so popular.

Re: 9th Entwined Roots Question - Urgent!
The best thing to do is post on the 9A forum- either in the shoutbox, or here . You're get a much faster answer there than here. I'm not all there with the rules, as my attention is firmly focussed on the fluff writing, but plenty of people are using the rules and heavily engaged in making them work...

Re: Paint a basecoat OR prime with a spray...
The question wasn't "do I need an undercoat", but "should I spray it or paint it?" I've had success with both painting on an undercoat, and spraying. It depends entirely on personal preference. If you are short on time, pray will be quicker, but it also requires a place to spray,...

Re: Coming 9th Age army book
All fluff for 9A is completely new. The primary inspirations for each army are the models, and the real world cultures that correspond to them. In some cases this is harder than other, but for the Sylvan Elves, it's wasn't a problem. Ultimately we've aimed for something that is distinct from any oth...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?
Haha, no no, as a vegetarian hippy myself, I have no wish or intention for the WE to become like me, and nor do the rest of the team. There is a definite drive to keep the feel of the factions similar to the old fluff, without using the same details.

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?
Thing to remember is, the game isn't finished yet. Currently the rules are in beta development. Edition 1.0 is set for release in a couple of days. Once that hits, the game should be much stabler. With regard to fluff - maybe I'm biased, since I'm on the team writing the new stuff, but I relish the ...

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?
I do hope 9th Age is not perceived as a game for tournaments only. Yes, it's written as a ruleset that works for tournaments in a way that AoS doesn't, but from where I sit, it's great for casual gamers too. If the various Rules' committees succeed it balancing things out the way they want, anyone w...

Re: 9th age Woodies are out! Lets discuss!
The only thing I can think of is that there must be some weapons that take extra modifiers to their misfire rolls - probably found in a specific army list. (Sounds like some Ork and Gobblin type foolishness to me.) This. I think maybe firethrowers and such. Exactly so: If a '6' was rolled, the Flam...

Re: 9th Age
The 9th Age team are very responsive to criticism. The armies are very much still being worked on. If you have feedback, to take it T9A forum - they will take it on board.

Re: Elf music! Or the ever popular "What do you listen to?"
I always preferred the more feral side of the Asrai fluff, so any Pagan Neofolk, Dark Neofolk, or really any variety of Neofolk that stays mostly acoustic will do the trick, really. In that vein, Wardruna are a fantastic choice, as are: Faun Omnia Stille Volk Empyrium (Their non-metal albums anyway)...

Re: Ninth Edition - End Times for real?
Personally, I'm interested to see what they do. I can simultaneously mourn the loss of the current Fantasy and be excited for whatever replaces it. If it turns out to be a mound of mouldy Mournfang manure, then I'll not partake, but until I see it, I'll not judge. I quite like 40k, and have a sizeab...

Re: Kings of War
I haven't tried it yet, mostly because I really dislike the models. They seem to have put so little effort into the design of them; they lack so much detail, and the few I bought for conversion purposes were made of awful quality plastic. A company that puts so little effort into its models doesn't ...

Re: Painting & Modeling Challenge frequency
I'd certainly enjoy more frequent challenges. I can't promise I'd partake in all of them, but I'd certainly like to join in more, and I always end up missing the boat, only to have to wait 3 months for the next one, which I will of course, forget until it's too late. My fault entirely, I understand,...

Re: Warlocks: eat your heart out.
The statement "Spells can be used any number of times in each magic phase, as long as all previous attempts to cast the spell have been successful" is entirely permissive. Sort of. RAW, you're right. But RAW, the sentence means nothing at all. Absent any other restrictions on how many tim...

Re: How does process sniper and multiple shots?
I think I can see the confusion you're having: I'm not stating that "shooting normally" needs to be defined as a rules term, I'm saying that it isn't defined, and therefore can mean either: shooting as any other model normally does, or shooting as this model normally would. In technical te...
