Re: Sethayla @ 2500pts

I wouldnt be me if i didnt point it out, but if you ran your WHR 2x3, in a forest then you get a few more supporting attacks on smashing that mages face in ! :D

Yes, but ASF and ASF also cancel each other out. Why is it unit dependant first

ASF + ASL rules

Hey guys, So with our WWR, they have greatweapons and the ASF special rule, which means that they will strike in Initiative order, and if i understand correctly, do not get rerolls to hit because the greatweapons ASL cancels out the ASF special rule. If the WWR were to come up against another unit t...

Re: 1000pts First Time List

You do not need a Level 4 caster in a 1000pt game. They are expensive and at games that size you really want models on the board. The effectiveness of casters increases as does the point value of an army.

Re: new book 1k for all comers

Eagles are fantastic in smaller point games and are fantastic redirectors. Also note that your spellweaver is wrong because you need the bow to shoot the arrows ! (Lame change I know) Warhawks are great and I would always advocate their uses, but they need to fit with the rest of the army. I am unsu...

Re: Glade guard unit sizes in the new book.

I have the feeling that either you go one of two ways:

1) Few (maybe 1) units of fat archers with an intended purpose and hence specific arrows

2) MSU archers with a mix of arrow types, mostly for allcomer/tourny lists

Re: Acorns and Moonstones and Rangers, oh my!

I don't think that the Waywatcher sentinel is worth its points, esp seeing as you aren't protecting a challenge. Same with other scouts As far as I can tell, Treemen still need to be wary of cannons etc, the reason they were rarely seen alone before, I believe will ultimately mean that they still wo...

Re: Warhawk Riders

Technically the WHR do have the forest strider special rule. It just doesnt count when using your flying movement. I know its a tad crappy :)

You only have to take a dangerous terrain test if you start or end in the forest AND you used your flying movement.

Re: Is a BSB necessary for MSU?

You need to look at it from an efficiency point of view. The BSB is there nominally to provide rerolls on Ld when needed. So it would depend on how you want to play your army and what it consists of. Eg, If you ran an MSU dryad army to consume people by tree spirits, then it might be a good idea for...

This doesn't seem right to me at all. Shouldnt all the columns add up to 100% (or less if you are omitting some results)? The chance of something happening at the moment is more than that.

Edit: Damn you JAMOB ! Beat me

Re: 2400p army for a tournement NEED FEEDBACK!

BSBs are an autoinclude in 8th edition. No-one debates this. But you can't give a BSB an enchanted shield (or indeed any kind of shield) unless there is comp that allows it. Devils advocate must disagree with this ! I never take a BSB in a sethsayla list, just dont see the point :) But as a general...

I would suggest playing through to learn the rules as a precursor to army list generation. In order to understand the army, you have to understand the game.

Re: 2500 pt Lonewolf Tourney List- Help me choose

Just realized that Swedish Comp puts this at: First- 17.4 Second- 18.2 If I make the mage athel Loren & get moonstone of hidden ways instead of WoWE I can get it down to 19.8 for the second army...wow, my army is really crappy according to swedish comp. And perhaps rightfully so. The 'problem' ...

Re: New to Warhammer, quick question.

Another general facet of WE as well, is that the team is more than just the sum of its parts. You have to understand this and incorporate it into how you play WE, and this is in essence what makes it harder to play than some other teams. While it is possible to look at that one fight and think that ...

Re: Swift Reform after a move?

Just to give a little more clarity to the OP, reforms happen at the start of a units move. The swift reform is an upgraded reform and is available to the unit if it has a musician. The check for a swift reform is a leadership test, and if you are successful you can still perform actions (move, shoot...

Re: 2500 I need help badly

Units with mobility make the most of your GG bow special rule. These include scouts, WW, GR, WHR. Especially the mounted archers, the potential to get in close range for S4 shots is amazing. And since all our mounted archers are fast cavalry this makes it also more amazing. I would also consider usi...

Re: Sparkle Party Deathmatch 2 - Watchtower of Doom

Have you considered using a level 1-2 caster with AL ? Defensive scenarios, and particularly get this point kind of scenarios often force movement through terrain that may not be desired, so a little bit of treesinging might go a long way. Also is it possible that a building in a forest that moves w...

Sounds like you are having fun learning. BTW, warhawk riders are stupidly fun and hard to kill at low point cost games. But they are a harder unit to use than some others we have
