Re: Help A New Blood Out?

Another thing to keep in mind is the meta you're playing in - my meta is super chill, so when I showed up with my modified net list from the new book I won too easily and it wasn't fun, so I had to tone it down. Luckily I had a bunch of stuff from the old book that's now less competitive so it wasn'...

Re: Order that shots are resolved.

I don't think so, but I have no idea where to look for this. In any case, it's unlikely that it will happen, as the bow is s3 - against most things you'll be wounding on 6s, or 5s if you get the right target for your arrow.

Re: Branchwraiths and lore of undeath?

Fantastic idea! Unfortunately we're stuck with skeletons unless we do the boosted version, as zombies are 20+ and I'm pretty sure you have to stick to unit size requirements

This, I think, is my favorite from the following thread

179 - Eagle Captain - Armor of Destiny (Heavy Armor, 4+ ward), shield, spear

for a 3+/4++ and a bunch of warmachine/chaff-clearing attacks

Re: how to kill nagash

The spell "Banishment" from the lore of light causes 2d6 s4+x hits where x is the number of light wizards within 12" of the caster; what this means is that if you take 6 lv1s (or do you only need 5?) you can get the spell up to s10 and massacre nagash. Also, light spells add an extra ...

Re: Mat Wards final gift

Moonstone is a mobility item in the army with the most mobility in the game. Its like giving a guy with a blowtorch a lighter. No, I'd say it's like giving a guy with wings a jetpack; it's an additional measure of security (and plain faster). Or, if given to a slow unit like WWR or WW, it is a fast...

Re: Regiments of Renown

I just theory-hammered the following 33 - 3x EG 22 - 2x WWR 25 - Bladesinger 20 - WW Replace EG with dryads at your leisure. Orginally I had shields on the EG and a spear on the Bladesinger (who was then just a wardancer) and two scouts instead of a WW, but then I remembered the max 50% special. I l...

Re: Lv 4 or 2 Lv 2s?

If you really like the signature spell (like bests; wissans) in both lores and will use both, then yeah go for it! But don't depend on getting any of the other spells or you'll get screwed over. A lv4 adds more reliability.

Re: How to use Treemen?

I tend to either block flanks, counter charge, or use him as an anvil. if there are cannons I hide him behind enemy units and hope he won't risk it, but cannons scare me a lot. I generally just use one, so if he has a cannon I'll try to poison it to death, but otherwise I just accept my losses and b...

Thanks for the comments! For purely competitive reasons, I've changed it to the following. 2400 360 - Treeman Ancient - lv4 90 - Waystalker 274 - 24 Dryads - Nymph 120 - 5 GR - Hagbane, Banner 120 - 5 GR - Hagbane, Banner 110 - 5 GR - Hagbane 226 - 7 Wild Riders - Std, Hunter, BoEF, Shields 180 - 10...

2400 Hippy Tree Elves

Hello Asrai! Since I first started playing WE a little over a year ago (and actually since I first considered playing them 4-5 years ago), I was drawn to them because they were, in essence, hippy tree elves. They give zero [censored] about conventional warfare and literally live (and fight) with tre...

Re: magic missiles vs buildings

Cinematically, it should probably help at least a little bit, but honestly buildings are so great to hold as it is that we don't need even more buffs -_- If you want you can think of it blasting the stones (or whatever) of the building into the people inside or something similar

Re: Avoiding the net list.

Taking AoA and the moonstone is a surefire guide to fun. Throw that in with some combat blocks and avoid either scouts or Fast Cav for a whole list - try to fill the points with forest spirits, as shadow synergizes well with them as well as with shooting.

Re: Victory against the Lizardmen "I vs. we"

Thanks for the report mate! Interestingly, I thought you were making a clever play on the first letters (L vs WE goes to l (which looks like I) vs we), but then you switched it on me! Either way, that was definitely fascinating and I look forward to more!

Maybe it would be if you can choose the spells, but there is far too little consistency possible from just a lv2.

Re: Some observations on my current list and new wood elves

I like it! A few things though. First - how did executioners finish off WR? 7 should statistically be getting almost 20 wounds against t3, so unless it was a massive unit they shouldn't have even struck back! The witch elves I can sort of get since they strike at the same time, but still, those witc...

Re: Heroic last stand

Lol I love the waystalker waywatchers idea. That could be fun just ro see how it works. So many arrows. Only problem with a scout / fast cav is that I can't leave the 18" box I am in. Anything outside take a ls test at -2 and if fails, flees. I have to wait for him to come to me. Oh ok - that'...

Re: Heroic last stand

I would go with all scouts and fast cav - play avoidance, as you don't have enough to just bash his army. Wild Riders, a shadow weaver in sisters, maybe some scouts for anti-warmachines (if you think he'll have them?) etc. 240 - lv Shadow Weaver - Steed 150 - 5 WR - Shields, Banner 150 - 5 WR - Shie...

Re: 2,000 points - WWR or treekin?

It depends on what you want the unit to do. Hold their ground and not die? Or kill stuff while dropping like flies? The former, treekin, the latter, WWR. In your list, WWR would probably be better. Still, you have a lot of s5 from the treemen anyway - do you really need more? If you want to fit an e...

Re: Waywatchers and Treemen

It's really situational. My meta has little-no heavy armor, so I use a treeman and it works spectacularly. If there were more, I would definitely bring out the waywatchers more. For now, treemen, treekin, and Wild Riders (coupled with magic) are more than enough for the armor I face. Play around wit...

Re: 600 points vs Dark Elves

You're right mate - you can have 7.5 WayWatchers at 600 (or, essentially, 7). I'd take those 7 and 6 Wardancers (with 10 points left), or otherwise take 6 WW and 8 Wardancers.
