Tactical Options: Pure Sylvaneth vs GA Order
I've only had a limited experience with a Pure Sylvaneth Alliance list, as I usually mix Sylvaneth with Wanderers and other Order units. I'm much more used to having more options in the form of shooting and cavalry with a Grand Allliance Order list. I would bring Glade Guard, Waywatchers, Great Eagl...

Re: Returned
Welcome back, OS. Age of Sigmar does not use points or percentages to compile an army list. Simply bring the units you want, and use the War Scrolls for them. Minimum sized units still exist (like one unit of Treekin is 3+ for example). You also have the option to use other units from other factions...

Re: Flamspyre a good fit for a Wood Elf Army?
Thanks for the comment so far! How do you feel about the Wake of Fire attack against warmachines? Or should I charge a Flamespyre into combat with warmachines?

Flamespyre a good fit for a Wood Elf Army?
End Times rules and games are all around, but I mainly stick with my pure Wood Elf army with all the usual unit choices. Does anyone think that a Flamespyre Phoenix would make a good addition to a shooty + forest spirit-infantry list? My thought is to replace the Great Eagles with a Flamespyre to go...

Re: Triumph and Treachery 1k (5 players)
Thank you for the feedback. I have the option of using 10 Dryads or 10 Eternal Guard. I wanted the lifesinger in wtih the EG to boost wounds. Any opinions on two level 2 lifesingers instead of 1 life and 1 heaven spellsinger?
Also, good tip on the gleaming pendant

Triumph and Treachery 1k (5 players)
Next Saturday is a planned T&T game. Dwarves, Dark Elves, possibly Orcs and Vampires to attend. I figured this time around, I'd field a faster and more manuverable army. Remember, it's 1000 pts each army, and sorry, no wild riders. Heroes Spellsinger "Alba Autumnborn" Level 2 Lore of H...

I've been waitng more for new plastic models more than new rules. I suspended my woodelf army until I could get a proper Treeman (well pleased!) and I'm still hoping for plastic eternal guard. All of this to say, I'm not a bandwagon jumper, and I look forward to expanding my 1500 pts of WE to 2500 (...

Re: 1k Triumph and Treachery store event
Thank you all for your input. I had originally planned to be a defensive player for Triumph and Treachery. I don't plan to run out and charge anyone, but I intend to take full advatage of the shooting phase. I would like to give the noble a better save, but I don't see anything under 25 pts that giv...

The gamestore is having two tables featuring 5 armies per table on the 16th this month. I'm picturing a crowded table and cut-throat trickery for these games. Knowing my local crowd, there won't be much room for mercy (list-wise anyway, they are mostly show good sportsmenship). As it stands, Wood El...

Re: Glade Guard - Best Banner
Am I missing something? I thought Banner of Eternal Flame is only useful against units that are flamable or fear causing to beast/mounts. Would if you don't go up against an army that normally doesn't field flammable units? Why is BoEF the go-to magic standard for so many elf players? By the way, my...

Are Magic Standards considered "Unique?"
Our Army Book allows us to upgrade a Standard to a Magic Standard in Glade Guard, Eternal Guard, and Wild Rider units. Of wich only one unit of each type is allowed to carry a Magic Standard. Our 8th Ed book (p.500 "Unique") mentions that all Magic Items are unique and only one of each typ...

Re: 1500pts vs. Dwarfs WM Heavy
My problem with taking Beast or Life, is that my opponent is loaded for anti-magic. In fact, my last game I was denied minus one power dice when I generated dice from the Winds of Magic. And with my track record of blowing up my mage along with my Glade Guard, I'd rather just skip magic altogether a...

1500pts vs. Dwarfs WM Heavy
A few weeks ago, I faced a Warmachine Heavy Dwarf army. I faced a flamming cannon, an organ gun, and a stone thrower. The cannon tore through my Tree Kin and made a mockery of my Glade Guard (especially when I enhanced them with a regeneration spell). So here is my response... Die you Dwarven Devils...

Re: First ever battle 750p
This is a good list for your first battle. As you go for larger games, I would advise investing in a Mage. At the least, to defend against magic spells. There are some nasty magic-driven armies out there and wood elves can benefit offensively from casting magic against your enemy. For your Noble, I ...

There has been a bit more interest in WHFB lately in my FLGS. The Game Store is just rapping up their Escalation League event, and I’m anticipating a surge in new players (Or a new surge of Forest Trespassers!) into the regular gaming circuit. What follows is an all comer’s list based on what I have...

Question on Basic Rules for Woods
I've been telling new players that if they move or charge their infantry through woods, their movement is halved. Someone pointed out to me that this old rule was removed, and there is no penalty for normal infantry troops for moving through woods and forests. I was also told charges of any sort wou...

Thank you, I am really proud of how it came out. The bits consist of Chaos spawn body, Dryad branches and head, plus a Citadel Woods tree branch. The roots were made of Green Stuff.

Page 38 in the rule book... you cannot march shoot, even us wood elves
And to be clear, it is a -1 to hit penalty for moving we get to ignore. All other penalties for shooting we have to consider though.

Why the Spellsinger? Just for treesinging? Why the champion in the Glade Guard units? Yep, the spellsinger is for treesinging. With any luck, Fury of the Forest. I keep Full Command with my archer, because I'm Fluffy. In much bigger games, I may have one or two units with FCmd and multiple small un...

Ambush! In the Woodlands. 1500 pts. Vs. Orcs
The Way is shut. The foot trails are closed to those of the lesser races. The vile Orcs of the Bad Lands have run wildly unchecked in this province for too long. Below is my 1500 point list vs. Orcs & Goblins. If I face off against a fearless army (say Vampire Counts or Ogre Kingdoms) I will ex...

Re: Am I cheating, or am I just a sneaky Git?
So I cannot use Swift Reform after rallying. That unit is stuck and cannot move any further (except flee! again) for that movement phase. And Swift Reform is used for any unit not fleeing or rallying. This makes me nervous to flee a GG unit and leave it defenseless for a whole turn. :ninja: I though...

#Small +Bother, bother, bother -This little skimpy looking unit running around your opponent’s rear is just annoying for them with petty bow fire, especially since they will have to deploy a unit to take them out, usually something sizeable and slow too, so make it hard for him +See the gap -Watch ...
